(Barry Sanders Top 50 Most Ridiculous Plays of All-Time | NFL Highlights) by the @NFL
I have watched European football my entire life non-stop, I can't get my head around how big college football is. What does the jump to the NFL take? I can't imagine what it must be like going from college football to the NFL only to have fewer people watching. Not sure what college Barry Sanders graduated from but his pace and agility while being an absolute unit on the field was incredible to watch!

So is Barry Sanders one of the best of all time? ... Who else should i react to next??

Definitely. It's pretty much a 3 horse race between him, Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith for the title as the best running back ever. Both of those other guys deserve reactions at some point.

He’s a running back so he would normally take hand offs from the quarterback. A wide receiver would run down the field to catch throws from the quarterback. The NFL actually currently has a lot of drama over running backs being underpaid because they have such short careers due to injuries

@@DutzyMateThe quarterback almost always makes the most because they are the leader of the offense. Left tackles are the offensive lineman that protects the quarterback on his blindside, so he gets paid big bucks to make sure the quarterback isn't getting hit by guys he can't see coming. Otherwise, the best players on each team are getting paid more than other people in their position based off of how valuable they are for the team. Each team has a salary cap on how much money they are able to give out to their players so they want to prioritize the people most impacting the team and trade other expensive players they think they can replace. haha sorry for the lengthy response.

The referee you pointed out is called a line judge. Primarily responsible for watching for penalties at the line of scrimmage, and spotting the ball when the player is down, I’d say, as well as getting a differently angled view from the other referees

Barry Sanders played at the Running back position and is considered one of the greatest of all time at that position. He played for the Detroit Lions his whole career from 1989 to 1998. Someone I would definitely recommend to react to next is Jim Brown or Reggie Bush

Part of why Barry was so good was because he had to run for his life. The offensive line was practically nonexistent at times. If you watch, A LOT of his great plays start by a defensive player going right through the blocking and ending up in the backfield.

The official you pointed out is in charge of marking the position of the ball on new downs. If the player steps out of play he would be in charge of marking it and stopping play.

Football Offense - 7 people on the line, 5 lineman (Center, 2 Guards, 2 Tackles) and 2 of Tight Ends or Wide Receivers. 4 players set behind the line. Quarterback (behind center) - running backs behind Quarterback (either half back or full back) and/or another Tight End/Wide Receiver offset at least 1 full person behind the line. Defense - Defensive lines (Nose Tackle/s (over center/guards) and Defensive Ends (over Offensive Tackles), Corner backs (line up against Wide Receivers or Tight Ends) Behind defensive lines, Line backers (watch QB/RB/TE), behind Line Backers = Safeties. Free Safety (primary responsibility is defend against long passes), Strong Safety (primarily responsible for run defense support and short passes). Strong safety helps linebackers, Free Safety helps Cornerbacks. Special teams Kickoff team, Kickoff return team, punt team, punt return team, Extra point/FG team, Extra point defense. Special teams often borrows players from Offense/Defense. They are sub units. Barry Sanders was a Half back, with full back legs/shoulders.

Jim Brown is widely considered the GOAT running back and the greatest football player ever. He played 9 years and in 8 of them he led the NFL in rushing (yards running the ball) yards--there are 5 players in second place who led the NFL only 4 times. A great single game by a running back in the NFL is achieving 100 yards or more in a game--Jim Brown AVERAGED 104 yards per game. He played in late 50s, early 60s--he was 6'2" 230lbs and could run a sub-10 second 100-yard dash. He retired at age 29 at the peak of his abilities having done everything he wanted to in football. He was incredibly athletic and powerful. Incidentally, he also played lacrosse at college (university) and is also generally considered the greatest lacrosse player of all time. After he retired he became an actor and was active in civil rights lending his name and reputation to increasing justice for black people and others. I saw him play live and have seen all of the great ones since. Brown the best. I love Barry second primarily because he is the most elusive I have seen--juke master, fast and tough.

So,I’m curious to know if in Rugby do your players have certain specialized positions? Because you guys don’t seem to understand that mostly the quarterback throws the ball. In rugby it seems that any player can throw the ball is that true or false? In the NFL any player can throw a ball in a trick play but that’s not a regular practice.
@DutzyMate
@DutzyMate 11 месяцев назад
Honestly I also don’t know much about rugby, it was always “soccer” that I watched and played growing up, so I’m not the best person to ask.. but there isn’t one position that is a specialist thrower because in rugby you have to throw the ball backwards… so not much skill required. There are specialist kickers though

Barry was actually only 5feet8inchs tall. Very muscular but short none the less. I think because he was short it was very difficult for the "Big Uglies" to track him....he jist hid behind the trees and made a break fir it. A great runner but too bad he played fir a crappy team, which why he retired early (i suppose).

No, football players don't wear padding on their asses. Some may wear a small pad which covers their tailbone. A tail pad is about 3 inches wide, by five inches long, by a half inch thick. There are slots in one end which allow the player's belt to loop through it. What you are seeing in Barry's case, however, is all quads and glutes. His height was officially listed as 5'8", although I don't believe he was truly even that tall. He weighed over 200 pounds when he played. His defining trait was his agility/ability to start/stop/restart/change directions. He also had shocking balance and eagle-eye vision. That leads many to believe that he wasn't all that rapid in terms of straight line speed. That's not the case at all. While there were and still are, players in the NFL whose pace exceeds Barry in full flight, he nonetheless possessed elite speed. At age 17, he ran a 10.3 second 100 meters. American football uses the 40 yard dash to measure game-applicable speed. The reason they use such an odd distance is complicated. Just take it as a given that it's a universally understood metric in the game. Any time under 4.5 seconds in that distance is considered very good. Any time under 4.4 seconds is considered elite. I believe Barry could run it in 4.34, if memory serves. For frame of reference, the best 100 meter sprinters on the planet, who train specifically to run as fast as they can over short distances, cover their first 40 yards in about 4.2-4.3seconds. Usain Bolt covered his first 40 yards in 4.19 seconds when he clocked his world record time.

They don't have padding on their butts. They are beasts--fast, quick, strong, elusive, and tough, very tough. And as you go along you will see they have incredible hand-eye coordination and the Quarterbacks have incredibly strong and accurate throwing arms. Best athletes in the world.
