This man is a genius!!! He is the last great American Country musician to get any recognition. toby keith should be delivering pizzas to Dwight's house!!!
Amen! Though I would argue that the performance of this beautiful song captured on the “Dwight LIVE (1995) CD eclipsed this one. Anderson’s guitar 🎸 magic on that tune and the entire live CD is impeccable. One of my favorite CDs of all time bar none.
When I lost my job years ago, after 32 years (plant closing). I listened to this song and cryed to and from work, the last few weeks. I felt "A Thousand miles from Nowhere". It still moves me. JEM
Don't quote me but I think it's a custom Cimarron guitar, Tele style, with a tremolo tail piece. Pete's style is what makes it come alive. Great guitars are a dime a dozen but it's the player that makes any guitar sing.
His voice is real , he sounds the same live as his recorded music. Back in the 90's he was the reason that concho belts and bolero jackets were popular.
@@Mike-zv8rd sadly this will never happn. You can search the net for reasons for the breakup, but we'll likely never learn the real story. There are many Pete vids here on you tube with/without Dwight so we'll just have to enjoy those.
I am 34yo and have been a fan since I was a kid. He is one of very few singers that when I hear them sing no matter how bad of a day I might be having I immeadately slide into a btter mood. Yoakam Rocks !!!! LOL keep going and here is to hopefully many more great songs.
Keep dancing Dwight . You are such a delight to watch . What an great entertainer , you are, Great share , thanks . Hate they didn't get some good close up of all your moves. ~~Ava
Dwight always sounds great no matter what song he sings and this is one of his best - who will ever forget him riding on top of the train! I loved the old stuff, love the new - still miss Pete but Dwight does move on. A legend in his time. I have so much respect for this multitalented man. (I had the poster of Dwight in this jacket - so sexy -but it can get in the way of playing a guitar!) Thanks for the post.
Oh come on now. Dwight's voice is like no other. He's still touring and singing and writing. Where is Pete? Never hear from him since split from Dwight. Dwight can sing anything, with anyone and without any instruments.
Love the instrumentation on this! Almost has a Petty-like vibe to it. Thinking my cover band will have to add a few more DY songs to our set list. Currently performing his version of Little Sister-- a nod to Elvis of course. But I'm digging a lot of his other tunes, too. Suggestions? Many thanks! 😎🎸
I love Trains , i grew up with them , Growing up in Detroit, i would lay in bed at night and I would here them every night, I always wondered where are they going ? When I was 17 i went down to the Tracks and jumped on a Freight Train, heading South, I ended up in Atlanta Georgia, and got off, i did not know where i was yet, at the time i had john cash and merle haggard in mind, Years later this song came out, and i could totally relate to it, Thanks Dwight for the song, you brought back my Traveling Bone at an early age, A Great Song Man, Cousin Figel
wow. hard to tell, but the drummer sort of looks like Bryan Adams long-time Drummer, Mickey Curry. same hair stlye, and watching him, very similiar Hand and Body style/movements. although i'd have to wonder what a Rock Drummer like Mickey would be doing playing with Dwight. not altogether impossible though.
Yes, add Merle & Willie to those who flipped off Nashvillewood. I work in filmmaking and we love to say adios to H'wood and their wasteful, ego-driven, money hungry way of storytelling. HM, Arizona desert & Mexico
i listen to this song on my ipod an it just makes me wanna jump on the freight train that runs through the woods behind my house an just let it take me were it goes
Just came me across this video. I wonder which show this was? I saw him on this tour in the summer of 94 in Salem Virginia. Pete Anderson just nailed this guitar work - he also produced This Time. Great album.
Wow oh how I love this song I can feel the journey! I love how you can talk to people heart!! Missing you play by the way congratulations on your new baby! Happiest new years!!
masively underappreciated artist,I've been to a bunch of his shows and he always brings it.Millions get him,.and yes he's famous and awesome,..but he just isn't getting the play and attention he already has earned. The great thing is hes Okay with it cuz hes just doing what he does,.and his music and fans is his own reward as he is comfortable with himself.
i remember in the documentary sling blade one his band members suggested getting a microphone and doyle got pissed off. in the documentary he never sang due to never having a microphone. i guess after carl cut off his mustache with that lawnmower blade he finally got a microphone and started singing. maybe now that he is successfull he can get carl out of the nervous hospital.....anyways im so glad to see that doyle finally bought a microphone for his band.
Anderson owned this and Dwight should have let him riff it like he did in the album. instead he yelped through the riff which was rude. i love Dwight but that was pete;s spotlight moment .
Just so happens Dwight came to Yuma here several months ago, and it was perhaps the most enjoyable concert venue I have ever attended. If your itching for a desert visit, head west to Arizona. Yuma has more sun than any other place in the U.S.A Today it was a mild 112 degrees, but you know what? The desert life is best for me. Yep, there's something about the old southwest you can't find anywhere else. Oww-whoo!
This song says exactly how I feel about a bad sales event I just went through with the Metro PC store 1102 Beverly Blvd Store in Montebello. I love youtube and just wanted to buy something portable to listen to music. The sales girl mislead me to buy a 4G but never said it wasn't strong enough to play without stalling. I lost my $75. with no option of upgrading or refund. I gave her back the PC and walked out. I paid for a whole month of internet and phone use. But when I went back I was informed the owner had already returned in to the company while I still had 3 weeks left on my contract. I you want to live with good carma in your life, stay out of that store.
