I’ve seen Dwight three times and each time he was stunning...however...I am glad he dumped his original guitar player, Pete Anderson. He always soloed one verse too long and tried to pull off licks he couldn’t q-u-i-t-e handle. Dwight’s current band, 3Pears, is a much more “share the music” and maximize the tune, not the solos group. And I agree - no one comes close to managing the rock-inflected Bakersfield idiom as Dwight Yoakam...a superb musician and a superb performer.

I've been a fan since the first album, and Dwight's voice sounds better than ever! And he still has the same stage presence and pipe-cleaner legs he had 25 years ago! The saint of Bakersfield is alive and well, and the current CW "stars" can't touch the Yoak!
Dwight made Dierks Bentley look like an amateur. That guitarist is the real deal too. Just goes to show 80’s and 90’s country is light years ahead of the material being put out these days
That's a byest comment ..yeh the young guys may not be of the same caliber but Dwight was the same when he first kicked off. His idols were buck Owens and wynn Stewart the original bakers field sound we all have or favourite s. But comments like that are not called for.. I play upright bass and front a rockabilly band in Scotland 🏴 called Rockville. also play pedal steel amongst other instruments and hold down a full time job as a fuel tanker delivery driver .now at the good old age of 55yrs and still go and watch other artists and bands 👍 saw Dwight in Glasgow a few year ago at country to country so unless you play and can perform better 😜 you shouldn't be judgemental ..👎🏴🥃

The late 80s and early 90s was such a cool time for country music. Dwight Yoakam is the reason for that, and his music is legendary. I love his work with Dierks because they both have great energy on stage.
as a young country music fan I definitely notice the difference in generational style, I love this guys stage presence. Any other artist suggestions from this time period ?!
@@zachcamara592 check out Keith whitley he may have been the best ever if he hadn't died so young. He was a legend of 80s country. Garth Brooks had an awesome stage presence. Ricky van Shelton was similar to Dwight also
@@zachcamara592..Randy Travis, Buddy Jewell, Hal Ketchum, Roseanne Cash, Gary Stewart, Aaron Tippin, Vince Gill, Johnny Lee, Hank Williams Jr, Waylon Jennings. There are alot of great artists that played traditional country music. The hick/hop they play today have gotten rid of the pedal steel,the singer put on a fake accent and talk about there Tacoma truck....blasphemous!!
You also to give credit to the 60's country singer/song writer and guitarist Alvis "Buck" Edgers Owens Jr originally from the dust bowl and grew up in a very dirt poor family with nothing but drive & ambition for Dwight's cool factor.
He calls his brand of music psychobilly. He blends hardcore country with classic rock of the 60's & 70's; it grabs you by the neck and makes you listen.
Could you imagine performing with Dwight. No matter what you did you just know he will blow you out of the water. Such a performer. I’ve been to two of his concerts. One when he was younger and the other a couple years ago. Time has only made him better

I saw him in concert in his heyday and it was awesome!!! Skintight jeans jumping off speakers! A few years ago pretty tame and kinda sad at a casino! Guess I will remember the two great shows I saw of his Blame the Vain concert was great
I remember when I first discovered Dwight Yoakam. I was just starting to seriously listen to music and I heard A Thousand Miles From Nowhere on the radio. I thought damn this guy is good, I need to look him up. I did and I was hooked. It was one hit after another. Fast As You, Guitars Cadillacs, I Sang Dixie, and so many great others that I love. I have yet to hear a bad song from this man, I don't think it's possible. He is also extremely underrated my book. This guy probably sings all 25 of my top 25 favorite songs of all time lol

Patti Dale Yes I agree Dwight is a living legend He just married a woman young enough to be his daughter and she’s pregnant He must be very happy for sure. His songs have helped me with heartbreak and sorrow
