He was Dwight's sound period, without guitar you have good songs with Pete Anderson style you get Dwight Yoakam music , stand alone country artist.Jusy like Buck.Like Dwight said "Buck-em" .
Hello Barbara, how're you doing, Your comments caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you! Love, DWIGHT ❤️
What makes Pete that special is his ability to make his fills and his solos in compliment to Dwight's vocals ..no shreds no deep bends no screeching just playing talent and a feeling for the music.. best example... 1,000 miles from nowhere..
Real , consummate, professional musicians get that too. You all play to compliment the song, for what that piece of art is. Also be genuine humble because being on a stage doesn't mean nothing when you realize you're just as carnival novelty, the dancing chicken 🐓 on a hotplate they turn the heat up on.
Yep. Because that would be ridiculous, and cringe as an out of tune violin also probably missing a tastful transition. Hahaha. Country music is about 1,1,21,1,2spin her round ,till she likes it. It's cool and a nod to the old school when a band does it right. Don't think that a cacophony of bells and whistles is is all it takes when you can't do it with a light bulb and a camera , one min., two takes, you can't do it.
Pete Anderson there on the guitar. Same guy as on the studio version. I remember the review of the album (Hillbilly Deluxe) in Guitar Player - "splatters licks all over Little Sister" - apt description, and man do I love it.
I admire him for being so genuine.. he never wavers from who he is and is always very polite in his interviews. A real down to earth guy :)@@MarcosBryant-mr7jw
I went and seen him bk in the 90's 3 different times one of those I got backstage passes and got to meet him helluva guy off the stage to shook my hand there will never be another ROCKN/COUNTRY KENTUCKIAN LIKE DWIGHT YOAKAM
Ain't that the truth! Back in the 1980s, when I was a young cat trying to learn how to play hot country licks on my Telecaster, I wore out Pete Anderson's solo break on this record. I learned it, too, and still love his playing today. Man alive, that boy could really play. With due respects to Dwight's other lead guitar players, none of them has been able to fill Pete's boots. I wish they'd figure how to get along again so the fans could hear them together again where they belong.
When you hear a record, you never know how much is pure performance and how much is studio “magic” cutting and pasting different takes. Now I know Pete Anderson could easily rip this up in one take.
Tom Upton Eddy was a beast. He usually played a Strat but Dwight wanted him to play a Tele, so he had to go borrow one. Dickey Betts gave him his first strat and gave him lessons. I think he gave him Skydogs strat.
Who says Detroit, Michigan never produced any good country pickers? That's where Pete Anderson comes from, and in those years, there was no one better at playing just what Dwight Yoakam needed for his songs. You could go so far as to say he was Dwight's 'secret weapon.'
@@GeorgiaBoy1961 this is when Dwight was at the top of his game. His band is nowhere near this good anymore. Pete and Dwight really need to get over whatever happened and put the thing back together. They need each other.
MY GOSH!!!! I LOVE YOU DWIGHT!!!! I’ve seen you many times and was supposed to see you in early May in GA but this dang COVD had to mess things up!!! Can’t wait for the reschedule!!! God bless you! You are the greatest country music singer/songwriter alive!❤️❤️❤️
Real Great Country music played... Dwight has gifted voice. Pete Anderson is also a gifted guitar player the best of the best! I saw Dwight and his band live twice in Fort Lauderdale, FL. and in Palm Beach, FL

I remember when Dwight, Alan Jackson, and Tim McGraw were all up for newest country entertainer of the year, can remember who won, but they all still put on a great show.
Love this guy - Coolest guy on the planet 😎 Saw him in 1990 something. The Leg kills me 😁 I gotta tell you Dwight's acting in SLING BLADE was incredible. Didn't know what to expect. I think he acted earlier in his life 🤔 🎬
not unlike Elvis.. this man can not help but move,, seen him way back in the day, like 1986-1988.,, loved how when the show was getting ready for him to come on there was ppl sprinkling stuff on the stage and i was like ,,, wtf,, my parents said it was WAX,,,, im like huh,,, but then i realized its cause of how he slides and moves when on stage,,,, so freaking coolio, dig me some DY,,,, even though im a complete ROCKER at heart,,, always love all kinds of music,,,,,
When you are an oldie and Elvis die hard fan, it is tough to hear anyone do an elvis song, and I can say that this is the first time I have heard anyone do justice, but this is great and I do love Dwight...congrats..l you rock
@@danieldaniels7571 I am not sure what your point is… what I said was.. I hadn’t heard anyone do it justice, not that it was the first time I heard it . Still not sure about the point of your response.
Great Music... the Bakersfield sound! Great Musicians in the band! Pete Anderson... super fine lead guitarist! The ones with thumbs down... The need to have their thumbs smashed by a hammer!!!
I always thought Dwight was great. His music felt like home growing up in Texas as a kid in the 70s and 80s. I wasn't too big into country music but I definitely did like his style.
Dwight if you see this, I just got to say your Elvis after Elvis, you had everything perfect bro and still do, nice style nice songs, my wife says nice butt I got no comment on that, but your music and your style is legendary, Kentucky boy did good 👍😊♥️
Dwight made country cool again! Went to see him back in the day with a couple of my Hard Rock head banging friends, they instantly became Dwight Yoakam fans.
