Dwight is the only one who does this song almost as good as George Jones. He is a great artist who has done real country music proud. He respects the legends of country, I enjoy all of the covers he has done.
Dwight has brought me so much happiness that he will never know. I listen to him every night before I go to bed; have his cd's in my car and also listen on Pandora.

I found this song a couple months back. I have now had about a dozen "favourite" DY songs since becoming a fan many years ago. This one is my new fave. Often listen to this on repeat. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I have seen DY three times - twice in Winnipeg and once in Grand Forks. Huge Fan - I am 31 years old. While most of my friends are listening to rap, hard rock, pop-country, I am listening to DY on repeat haha even in the GYM :)
I love the beat through out this. I love the violin, it is beautiful. I believe Dwight, you nailed it. Your song writing is incredible, I know this isn't one. But I love to listen to your great version of this one. George would be pleased.

Dwight is an ultimate classic tonker much Gary Stewart. Such a unique style. Not only a fantastic singer and stage artist but ain' t too shabby when it comes to acting either.

i totally agree! that voice, that songwriting! he has a catalog of good to great songs that is immense. i don't get why so many of the less interesting country performers get all the accolades. he's too much of an artist for regular country radio and too country for alternative music stations that worship townes van zandt and steve earle as they rightly should but pay no attention to dwight. go figure.
George Jones is my favorite singer, and Dwight does good on this song. This is not Jones' style, and some people *coughhaterscough* need to see that this is Dwight doing HIS thing, not Jones' thing. Also, "gawd" help the fella who is comparing apples and oranges when he obviously only sees the good in the apple. It takes a lot more guts to cover a Jones song when you are a respected artist and at risk of a bad review, than to talk shit about someone's singing. Just a thought.

hot damn! i have so much respect for george jones but holy cow i think dwight nails this better than ANYone. he writes the best songs so f----- consistently (the resume on this guy) and can take any cover into his nasal country twang and steal the it right out from under the master, whoever it may be. he wears the hat!
