'DWTS' Week 8: The Pros Feud with 'Dance Moms' Guest Judge 

I love how Tony said he cheered when Maks made his statement, and then kept a straight, calm attitude when speaking to Abby. Derek and Mark both tweeted about Abby's teaching methods a couple of years ago. Abby is also currently being sued along with the producers by one of the Dance Moms for mistreatment of her 2 kids.

it's funny how Abby says "respect the judges decision/opinion...don't discuss it, and walk away" when she was the first person to complain to the judges when Chloe beat Kamryn. She also demanded a recount in the scoring when Chloe beat Maddie. So who is she to judge on what Maks said when she does the same thing. Hypocrite much?

How ironic, Abby. "Respect the judges' opinion." By the persona that she presents on Dance Moms, she doesn't ever respect anyone else's opinion

Thank goodness they are sticking up to Abby, someone needs to call her out for treating children so poorly.

what the hell was "ABC" thinking when they invited that dragon to be a part of DWTS for a week, yes she's involed in the world of dance & owns a dance studio but she's not a ballroom or latin dance teacher she teaches lyrical dance, tap, jazz, contemporary & acro but not ballroom & latin. I argee with Maks all the way.

Abby tried to be nice to all the dancers but they didn't fall for it, she told Maks and James they were hot, she called Peta PERFECTION, she said Candace has potential as a ALDC dancer (which made her partner Mark giggle a little haha) and she even called Derek a LEGEND but he ignored her comment and acted like he didn't hear her. When she told Charlie to do something with his bouncing hair Bruno was like, "OOHHH shut up" and then she told Meryl who was doing Rumba her feat were not pointed enough and the other judges were like GIRL this is ballroom not ballet then the host after she judged Meryl asked " So Abby what did you think about the Rumba part of the dance" hahaha.

Why does Abby answer SO defensively? Tony isn't attacking her when asking the questions. Everyone else can answer in a normal tone

The producers of DWTS, already knew how most of these pros felt about Abby Lee Miller's teaching methods, in fact, Derek and Mark were tweeting openly about their outrage over it when her show started to become popular. DWTS showed no respect for all of these pros who made their enterprise what it is today.

I wish Tony had asked the educator and mathematician Danica what she thought of Ms. Miller's statement about homework being a poor excuse for not practicing dance more. As for James - in time he'll get better at answering sticky questions.

It is okay to have guest judges but, they need to be in the same class as the professionals that grace this show. Kenny Ortega for example, has the right to critique, he has earned that right and is greatly respected in the business. Abby Miller has not earned the right to critique professional dancers of this caliber, or any caliber for that matter, nor does she possess the class and style standard that this show projects. I think it was an insult to the professionals in this show to have this woman critique their performances. Has she ever danced? It certainly does not look like it.

I really like Charlie. I find him to be the most articulate and professional dancer (from both stars and pros) on the show, in terms of the way he conducts himself in practices and interviews.

I like how none of the pros who have contributed to now 19 season show about ballroom dancing all seem to agree about their dislike towards her teaching methods even though they have come from different dance schools and had different instructors.

Funny how Maksim was the only one saying something to Abby's face, the other ones were all like "yas, thank you"

My granddaughter is quite talented and is looking to be a professional dancer. She is passionate about dance and one of my greatest joys is watching her. When I watched "Dance Moms," I agreed with most of the people on this thread - Abby Lee is a tyrant!! Yes, the student dancer must learn to accept criticisms and disappointment - but there is no place for sarcasm and insults when dealing with children - not when you're trying to encourage a love and dedication to the art. Frankly, the criticism she made of Meryl's feet was, in my humble opinion, absolutely specious!! She was supposed to be performing a sort of "dance of apology." It makes much more sense for her to be curled up than to have her feet splayed in an open position. Sorry, but I have never seen more demonstrative movements and more emotional facial expressions during a dance routine than Meryl's. She is absolutely stunning. Maks and Charlie White are the perfect partners for her. BRAVA, MERYL, BRAVA|!!!

I thought it was a riot that Abby said Maks should respect his elders and ABC. Both comments are straight from his past comments with Len. Maks' dad said he should respect his elders. In this case, I don't think dad will come out and say Maks should apologize. What a riot. Unless Maks had lied, anything he would have said would have been telling. Even if he had said, "no comment" everyone would have known. I think that the judges' reactions and the pros' reactions were very telling.

The fact that all of these dance pros don't care for Abby's methods is telling. "Dance Moms" is Reality TV at its worst.

Abby most certainly won't be back to DWTS after the reactions of the _real_ dance professionals.

The sexual innuendos were disgusting but matched her treatment of her students. Bottom line - look at Derek' s face and listen to his comments. BTW, abbey Derek has an oscar/emmy what do you have? ABC if you want to lose a viewer, be sure to invite her back.

Anyone who know ALM's comment knew that she gave James 10 was based on his appearance. So why is he so appreciate it? Only because of the score? I do not like the sexist opinion in ALM's comment, that's all.

James is soo shallow. All he cared about is he got a 10 from a shallow unknowledgeable judge who scores you high because of your good looks and bod? It just shows his immaturity. It also shows how Miller is an inadequate judge for whoever. She fantasizes over James. Maybe she does not have enough sex-iness in her life period.Miller does not know how to judge adult dance. She finds power only in mishandling small kids.Why not pick people your size? I agree you have to learn from judges comments and respect their opinions ..but NOT THIS kind of a JUDGE.. Her opinions are not worthy for anybody.. And..I don't care about any of her opinions either......Its for the birds..

The new season of dance moms just stared and there are only 4 of the original group left. Feel sorry for the kids as they have been dancing together since they were 3 yo.

okay here is where I stand with this. I believe the pros don't hate Abby as much as her methods of teaching. she had every right to be on that panel as she knows what it takes to become something in the dance world. that being said I do believe her tone more than methods is what really bothers everyone , myself included. no one, no matter the age should be put through that much.

I don't like Abby Lee Miller I have never watched her show but I have seen previews of it and I didn't like it one bit.

Controversial opinion: all hate is bad. You may not like Abby but she WAS invited by ABC and if you are the head of the show, which is the host + instructors + judges, you need to be very professional. Maks and Val came off as incredibly disrespectful, and Derek looking away from her when she was talking was also weird. Yes, she may have given feedback that was not even relevant to the dance style but you provoking a lower score from her with your back comments hurts yourself and your partner. Don’t be a warrior of justice during the show, talk all your crap afterwards and talk to ABC to make sure she doesn’t come back.

I didn't watch that season but I am shocked they would even bring Abby on the show as a judge considering how horrible of a person and teacher she is.

I would not take any kid of mine to Abbys school, but I still like her, she was very nice on the show and Dance moms is edited so ... she is for sure shown as a villan more than show her nice moments too, as a judge she seems to know what she is talking about .

well the dancers are right and wrong because they all still dance but it wasn't abby who affected them it was the show and producers destroying their lives

I don't think it's fair to judge her on dance moms. It's highly edited everyone involved has said so. Instead of showing the 5 times she nicely gives a correction they show the 6th time she yells it. Lol just saying, she doesn't just yell all the time and producers set up arguments with the moms and Abby for the show. Just saying judge her on the stars she's created, the competitions she's won, how long she's worked in the industry not just Dance Moms.

Abby Lee Miller gives everyone who watches and opportunity to choose something different... He girls are incredible though and I love to watch them perform!!!

i love DWTS, but it looks like all that spinning and twirling has their brains rattled. Do they not understand that Dance Moms is a reality show that's edited left and right? I mean, really? And her methods prove themselves.
