A cover song I've played on my live streaming #10, newly recorded.
Gear used:
Emu Emax II (main lead is a four layer sound: two kurzweil pianos, and two JP8000 sounds. Extra lead (upper octave) is a JX-8P sampled sawtooth)
Roland JP8000 (Extra Bass)
Kurzweil PC1x (acoustic guitar)
Backtrack previously recorded from scratch (track by track) on Pro Tools.

Hey… I’m 17, and I set myself the goal to kind of “bring back” that 80’s Post punk / New wave style, now I have decided to get myself a synthesizer to get such sounds. Which would you recommend? I thought about buying a dx7, but im assuming its not an allrounder and more of a synthesizer to create a certain background atmosphere?

Hi Sandik. Good question. The DX7 is narrowed to certain type of tones only (yet capable some analogue style ones, not much accurated). As some friends tell me, the Roland Alpha Junos (1 &2) are great for some 80's stuff, maybe a broader palette of sounds. Check some demos on RU-vid though
