No Internet. In 80' No thanks. Had to go to the library to learn anything. And it was outdated. You can learn anything you want at home for free now if you have the drive
i think the Arturia dx sounds better than my original DX7. Cleaner, and the upper register is not as gritty. Perhaps it’s the fact that the original is a 12 bit machine, and the Arturia version is 16 or 24? Much easier the tweak the sounds, too.
The interface is not tbe one that's available for the complete Arturia DX7 - which provides direct access to numerous settings like the amp curve etc. and that is where the software becomes WAY either to use than the original....and it sounds great on top of that.
I think it's called Tronopid and it's part of the original DX7 collection. Can download it for Dexed too if you download the "DX7 Alltheweb.zip" patch collection.
+Venom 97 You record (screen capture software) your screen with Arturia's DX7 visible while playing. Then you layer the screen recording over the video of you playing. Finally, you crop the video of the screen recording, so that only the virtual on-screen keyboard is visible, so that the rest of the video now shows your real playing (like having "picture in picture"). Finally you distort (skew) and position the frame over your real keyboard. You can do it in any video editor like Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Vegas, and so on...

I got analog lab 4 full version. Is it worth in to buy the dx7 to unlock synth or just use them in analog lab with the few options to change pitch ect.... I use arturia minilab mkII. I'm still trying to go thru 6500 presets.
In my opinion Analog Lab 4 full version gives you most of the DX7 presets. I don't go much past them. I have Analog Lab 4 upgrade from Lite to full for £60 because I bought a Presonus USB interface. I'd probably still pay the full price for Analog Lab 4 if I had the cash.
Actually got Analog Lab 4 full for €34 which is insane. It was on offer as a 50% discount so instead of €69 upgraded from Lite price it was half again. Stupid value, I fell lucky as I waited for the sale. 👍🏻😎
Adding to POTUS, in Analog lab, only some parameters are accessible. For instance, changing algorythm, changing effects, changing for DX-7 to more sensitive Full velocity does not work, but you can control some parameters like the volume of orerators.
Sounds cool, but nothing like the original DX7, more like modern version. Original DX7 doesn't sound clean at all, due to bad conversion, aliasing and that's what gives it the charm for me...
There is an option to set the DAC resolution to “vintage.” From the manual: Here's a basic description of the two options: • In Vintage mode we emulate the original 12-bit DAC and analog companding circuitry, including multiplexing noise. • In Modern mode each voice has its own dedicated 16-bit DAC, so there is no multiplexing noise.
