Dylan is impressed with his dad's new yacht, but where did Jack get the money? #BeverlyHills90210 | Now streaming on Paramount+ Where to watch: para.mt/90210
@strawberryherpes it's not weird. Dylan and other Beverly rich kids always brought drama and excitement, especially when they were alone, because their life was glamorous, twisted, and atypical, while Walshe's home life was...well, average, traditional home life of a more traditional family, and the whole premise of the show was based exactly on this contrast: how the conservative Walsh family adapts to crazy Beverly Hills life. And the irony is, that after season 4, when the element of the calm, traditional, warm Walsh home/family got ruined because Brenda left the show, only then it started to be painfully apparent, how much the Walsh family element was needed on this show! When the whole family dynamic got ruined because one twin was missing, and all that was left was sex and intrigue between Beverly Hills rich people, it got incredibly boring and stupid, and it turned the show into one more stupid, predictable soap opera where everyone sleeps with everyone. The attractiveness of this story was from the get-go the idea of Brenda&Brandon, twins from Minnesota, adapting to a completely different world, the world of rich, beautiful, and often shallow, but also complex and troubled people, and that was interesting. After Brenda and Brandon's dynamic got ruined, nothing worked great. the best seasons of this show will always be the first two, and then half of season 3. And I guess, season 4 still was mostly ok, but after season 4, it's a complete disaster and just a typical, American soap opera with mostly rich people sleeping with each other. So it is not weird at all, it was all supposed to be about two different worlds colliding, and it got ruined pretty quickly, because unfortunately, some main actors couldn't act professionally on set, especially Shannen Dorothy who acted like a diva, and producers had to fire her. Again - I'm not saying only she was at fault but she herself admitted recently, on her podcast, that the rumors were to some degree true, and she was a troublemaker, she didn't control her messy private life enough too, so it wouldn't interfere with her work, it was just very messy, and many troubles on the set were her fault. This is why I'm not so crazy about Brenda after all these years because she was played brilliantly by Shannon, yes, but at the same time, it seems Shannon was the same type of drama queen on set as Brenda was on screen, and she actually ruined the show by not behaving professionally enough.
Fully agree with your whole comment. Although I still like Brenda (especially compared to her co-stars). I think they all brought too much of their personalities to their characters. Brenda was sweet in the beginning and later Shannen started seeping through. And while she was beautiful, and IMO the most charismatic on the show, her holier-than-thou attitude was too much and annoying. At least she was very upfront though. Jennie was the same ego (both Aries) she was just sneakier and more manipulative. The total soap opera after season 4 was unbelievable, such a turn around.
@@LovelyDay11 they had to compete with Melrose Place which h had the same creators and many of the same writers, producers and even episode directors as 90210, they were definitely sibling shows
Exactly what I thought about the show. A wholesome, traditional family from Minnesota with the pair of twins attending Beverly Hills high. The contrast of the environment, the meetings of new friends and people, the ventures, and the BH people encountering and befriending shy people was so interesting and fun to watch. Then Brenda leaves, and Kelly gets with Brandon after Dylan. Valerie arrives and sleeps with all the male cast members. New girls arrive and only go for getting into bed with the guys. Redundant, predictable, unoriginal, and sleazy. Lazy writing by perverted minded people taking advantage of beautiful young actors.
Will we ever get this show upgraded to 4K? I like the old school grainy image, so I wouldn't want them to overdo it (sometimes those upgrades look weird and CGI like.), but still, it would be great to see the image modernized and discover all the little details that we miss in the SD version. I'd definitely buy the entire DVD set if it got an image upgrade. And if they manage to restore the original copyrighted songs that got cut out then oh boy, I'd be the happiest person alive.
plot hole in this story. Jack gets killed from the car explosion. But turns out to be a setup for the witness protection program. His lady friend was an undercover fbi agent. So why was Jack so calm when Dylan went to open the car? The only reason Jack called him back was because Kelly called. If it was a setup, wouldn’t Jack have kept Dylan far away from the scene? I mean, a car was to explode for goodness sake!!
@@gbear2253 Really good point. I never thought about that. Yea Jack said later as soon as the car blew he got in a van and taken away to witness protection. I guess at the time that episode came out it was assumed that Jack was really dead. Later they wrote him back in hoping we wouldn’t notice that goof in the story line. Good eye 👍
...Dylan SENSES his Dad is not on the 'up & up' (1:34), but is relying on Good Faith that Jack has changed (0:57); while the Walsh twins have a lotta LIP for Teens, don'they!? (2:56) (2:10) ...ha-HAA!!
This show can have such a weird tone sometimes. One minute, the writers are so deep in the melodrama of love triangles or Jack being involved with shady business. And then you have Cindy and Brenda coming in, and acting really cheesy like they just came off the set of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
