isn't stock harley exhaust more of a free flowing exhaust than most other factory exhaust? wondering if rejetting would squeeze a lil more pep out of it.

I ended up buying a Dyna muffler just like this on Ebay. I can't wait to install it on my S40 and ride around. I almost bought the obnoxiously loud "Jardine" muffler but decided it was probably bad for the bike. I don't want to rejet the carburetor now and I like the fact that the Dyna provides the same amount of back pressure. Thank you for posting the videos. It helped me make the decision of which muffler to buy. Am I correct in assuming it is still decently loud and most importantly gives a nice deeper tone?

Also, with the 100 Decibel legal limit in Quebec, I'm pretty sure the Jardine muffler would have made sure I'd be hassled by the cops.

Yes got are correct about the sound it makes. You'll get deep tones. Loup pops and nothing high pitch. The single cylinder becomes more natural.

Thanks for replying. I love the fact that it's a single cylinder and that natural thumper sound is exactly what I want to hear. My S40 backfires every time I shut it off after long rides and also occasionally if I downshift from 5th to 4th at speeds above 100 KM/H (I normally downshift at about 80).

+Daniel Jacques OK that's good to hear. I was also wondering if you had to change the headplug or the Cam Chain tensioner which I often read about on the internet. My S40 has only ~8000 Kilometers but I want to make sure I fix those issues before running into any problems. I haven't decided whether I will change the parts myself or bring it to a garage and maybe get the valves adjusted too. Thanks for the information.
