The rather mysterious Dominique arrived in Denver at the end of Season 4. Just who is she, and why is she in Denver, and more to the point why is she so interested in the Carringtons? This clip reveals all.
That Scene Was Like Guess Who's Coming To Dinner In Primetime TV!!! The Music Set The Mood,Tone And Scene,They Don't Make Shows Like This Anymore,And Brilliant Actresses Like This PHENOMENAL LADY Only Come Around Once In A Lifetime,She's IRREPLACEABLE!!! RIP RIH REST IN PARADISE QUEEN #DIAHANNCARROLL 👑👸🏾🙏🏽☁️🕊🎭📽🎞🎬📺🖤🖤🖤⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🍾🥂🔥
l beg to differ; Dominique D. owned at least two night clubs and she sang in luxury lounges. l dare say, if if she were a real person her finances would be pretty good.🤭 Though not as good as Blake's.
mike856ms Yass.. and you better not have disturbed your mom when she was watching on of those shows or you may have gotten your own violins playing😂. The 80s were a time when mom’s did not play when it came to their television shows. You either were in bed or sitting your behind down silent next to them watching😂. You only moved during a commercial. Good times.
😓I feel like an old fart right now cause I remember vividly and clear when this episode originally aired on television. Primetime television was @ it's fiery 🔥 best in that era of time.
I was allowed to stay up on Friday night and watch Dallas & Falcon Crest. Dynasty came on Wednesday night and I had to be in bed by the middle of the show. But I only can eavesdrop from the audio on my mother's tv.
This show was classy, fantastic wardrobes, incredible acting & beautiful women. Every time the show ended it was a cliffhanger, it had you holding your breath until the credits I had to clench your teeth until it aired next week and you look forward to it made plans to do it. Lord have mercy! I love it! This show taught me how to carry myself with class & when someone came for me I'd keep stepping and sprinkle a little shade as I walked by & paid it no mind. Dynasty forever!
Can you imagine if the internet was up and running when Dynasty was on? The internet would have shut down each week😂😂😂Blake never treated her nasty, but he needed to know what was up
The true essence of African American grace, beauty and class. An era of time when Primetime television was at it's fiery best 🔥. Rest in paradise Dominique Deveraux and Black Carrington 😉 Charlie Townsend.
Honestly, we really need to stop looking at the past as though nothing existed until got here lol! The smoky look was chiseled into 4,000 year old walls of ancient Egypt. Anything “modern” has BEEN done. And they did it quite well long before us.
A TRUE CLASSIC if there ever was one. Filled with class, style, grace, elegance, and plenty of shade to last for a lifetime. Yes, my friend shows like this made, marked and broke the mold.
Talk about it!! Lawd, have mercy!! The drama, the clothing, accessories & shoes ( the late Nolan Miller), the cliffhangers, the fights, the treachery, the skullduggery, the romance, the exotic locales, the extraordinary wealth!! No one displayed it better than producer Aaron Spelling on WABC-TV ( Ch.7) in the early 80's!( Dynasty, The Colbys, Matt Houston)
Dominique’s steely glare @1:23 stole the scene and foretold of a much, much bigger story to come! Damn, I loved this scene. Rest in absolute peace Diahann Carroll and John Forsythe! Along with Joan Collins, the three of you totally made this show the hit of the 80’s that it became! 😍👏👏👍👍🤗
The moment you find out that "your daddy" was getting himself some black cat ! Enjoying himself some of that brown sugar, and the bombshell of realizing that you have some black relatives... Priceless :-)
Tookie Jackson LOL!!!! The look on Blake’s face is freakin’ priceless. And Dominique looks like the cat that just swallowed the damn canary! 😂 God how I miss this show!
What picket fence? He had a mansion. 😋 And Dominique ended up being welcomed into the Carrington family. She even got into a pool catfight with Alexis, which is basically a family tradition. lol 😂
@@44excalibur True Blake was shocked at first, but did welcome her into the family. And she became very loyal to Blake and sided against him in his wars with Ben and Alexis
they re[resent nothing other than old semi wealth botoxed bitches acting like they are having lunch in high school. The Housewives, none of them represent anything remotely like high society more like ghetto fabulous trash
I don't know which was more over the top dramatic, the music in the background or the final look they gave before each episode ended, but it sure made for entertaining television!
When I first watched this show in English I found Blake Cartington’s voice very familiar. Then I realized he (John Forsythe) did the voice of Charlie in Charlie’s Angels 😇
THAT was a cliff hanger. We had to wait until next season to find out the backstory if I remember correctly. Dominique Devereux came and shook all the tables!!!
No actually this was the 4th episode of the new season. Dominique arrived at the end of season 4 and made her mysterious proclamation "it'll knock their socks off when they find out I'm a Carrington" to herself. We had to wait until this episode to find out what she meant
Thank you for posting these videos. I was a huge fan and no one dared spoke with me when I was watching dynasty, falcon crest, knots landing and occasionally Dallas. Lol
The good old days. A friend of mine would call long distance (we'd alternate weeks) which would rack up a pretty penny, and silently watch shows like this every week. She in Carolina and I was in Michigan. Good times!!
👉 Cliffhanger!!!! 🪂 Love the dramatic strings playing at the end! Dominique looks so elegant in her fur coat!!! *Glamourous Life,* indeed! LOL I miss the 80s!!!!
Actually Cable was just getting started besides HBO. Back then as only a handful channels such as CNN, MTV and ESPN was only a couple of years old when this show aired in the Mid '80's. Sadly a classic show like this, over 35 years later would only be on a channel such as HBO or streaming ones such as Netflix and or Apple TV.
You know after this, alot of Soaps did the "Same" Thing. Have it be discovered that Daddy was kicking it with a Black Woman. Brandon Spaulding's Children finding out that their Father had a Child with a Black Woman in Barbados on Guiding Light. Stefano Dimera had a Child with his former Mistress Celeste while Edward Quartermaine has a Grandson Justus and a Great Grandchild. They almost hooked up John Abbott and Mamie on The Young & The Restless but they dropped the Storyline.
Yes, you are right but it also represents a Chapter in US History with Black/White Relations that people know about but don't like to openly acknowledge. From the moment The Sea Captain Raped a Mandika Maiden In Roots, Kizzy getting raped by Tom Moore, The Patrons of The Cotton Club falling in love with The Dancers as well as Millionaires who fall in love with their help. I had a feeling that this was going to happen but people were stunned nonetheless.
laminage you’re SOOOOOO right! CBS got scared & canned the idea of John & Maime but that would’ve been delicious to watch it play out especially since Jill Foster was in the mix! Rosalyn Cash was the matriarch of color on GH but the writers gave her cancer &!she was written off the show, but not before making a connection w/Luke & Laura, huge fan favorites.
Hotgritz: I loved John and Mamie's relationship! I used to think that the writers were gutless cowards when they backed out of exploring a romantic relationship between them, but now that I think about it, they were probably scared of the way it might come across having the long-time, dutiful family maid and the patriarch involved with each other--i.e., the cliche of the slave master and his slave mistress being seen on daytime TV was just too politically incorrect, even though John never treated Mamie like that nor did she kowtow to him, as I recall.
Jack the Man: I kept waiting for some mysterious Black character to show up on OLTL, start snooping around Vicky and then reveal that old man Lord was their daddy! 🤣 I think Todd would've accepted it (considering he was illegitimate and had feelings for Evangeline), but Vicky would've been shook (not to mention Dorian)!
