Larry Hagman was such a reputed prankster that I'll bet there are outtakes somewhere with him doing that. I have heard the "Dallas" set was a lot of fun. He and Patrick Duffy were notorious for the pranks!
They did a movie together right after I dream of Jeannie called cry wolf ,it was a murder mystery. It was 1971 NBC were they played a divorcing couple who some how get back together to solve a Kidnapping murder mystery in a small town. You might want to check out it seemed like a good movie you can get it on you tube if you want it's up to you , but please don't expect Tony and Jeannie Nelson or Jr and Lee ann because these characters are completely different. Hope you have good night
@@jonilynnmichalski4249 I think it was called 'A Howling in the Woods'... I just saw it on RU-vid and it's not that bad. Classic 70s terror movie with Barbara and Larry playing greatly their characters. Great chemistry indeed!
it took me a few moments to realize it was Jeanie but I had to read your comment to remember JR was her master lol - they should have kept Ginger on the show...
@@Richard-vq7ud From my point of view, yes she's cute and sexy but she has not the Victoria's eyes. Victoria Principal was really a doll and I found her more attractive than Barbara.
I remember this. The end of the season it was all a dream, JR wakes up as Major Nelson, it was all Jeannies doing she wanted to show Master what life was like being a Texas oil man. Then they lived happily ever after.
Love it! Even better would be the following: Tony: Jeannie I've just woken up from a godawful nightmare. Jeannie: It's alright master. This was an evil turn carried out by my jealous sister as one last act of spite when she finally realized she could never have you. She put you into a trance where you imagined yourself as a cruel and ruthless -- the complete opposite of what you are -- Texas oilman decades into the future. The worst bit was when she tried to pass me off as that horrible Lee Ann De La Vega (Jeannie sobs). It took me ages to figure out how to reverse the spell. Cue tearful embrace and rolling credits.
Diane Last good catch! Dallas was very respectful to Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden for the ‘ Jeannie ‘ Reunion. It’s too bad that Larry had his Dallas commitment and he was unavailable to do the ‘86 Reunion Movie. He was probably pleased with MASH’s Wayne Rogers Performance as Tony Nelson, though - I know that I was.
One of the best scenes of the final seasons. Barabara snaps her fingers and I was under her spell. And, the last name of Nelson, an homage to Jeannie. "I don't give a damn!" The best comeback to any "what-about-isms."
Well, to be fair....He was in the US Air Force, where the ranks of 2nd and then 1st Lieutenant are very much a thing. Before you make the rank of Captain, you first have to be 1st Lieutenant.
Never has a show been more disgracefully ruined than what they did to Dallas in the last three seasons. Absolutely inexcusable. They completely deserved to tank in the ratings and mercifully go off the air.
@@philiphatfield5666 yes! Dynasty, Falcon Crest and Dallas, as hot as they all were, each stayed on long enough to become very uncool. Only Knots Landing managed to stay interesting and relevant into the 90’s.
@@ghanasoul Larry was just busy with Dallas is why he didn’t show up.still Larry should have been in the movie. And it’s nice to see them here on Dallas.
@@MrKirbbdogg i know why he couldn’t do the film. My point was i can’t believe Ms. Eden did the film without Larry Hagman. She must’ve needed the money. Why would she subject herself to a lame TV movie with a new actor in Larry’s place?? She should’ve said “if Larry can’t do it, there’s no point in makin this film”. Just my take on it.
That's what Larry Hagman gets for *skipping out, on the "I Dream of Jeannie 15 Years Later", reunion!* As the elevator doors closed, when she laughs, *she was her 'mischevious' sister!*
I am so glad to see Barbara Eaton and Larry Hagman back together again after all these years in the show I Dream of Jeannie Jeannie and Major Nelson back again on Dallas I'm glad to see them two together
It's pretty amazing that Deborah Rennard as Sly, Deborah Tranelli as Phyllis, and Danone Simpson as Kendall all lasted until the final episode. I loved all three. Sly, J.R. 's faithful secretary, Phyllis, Bobby's secretary, who I suspected had a crush on Bobby., and receptionist Kendall.
JR was defeated! And a guy like him could never last "at just a job." He has to be the boss. Otherwise, no dice. Folks, this is why having a company means protecting it from snakes is imperative.
OMG!!!! Dallas was just horrific in its last Seasons.......JR looked weak and powerless......NOT the same JR that we're used to seeing😩.......What were the writers thinking?????
The early seasons JR was cunning, ruthless, successful and an average scene in those days would see him grin, do an evil laugh and make a sharp put down. In these later seasons an average JR scene was him looking puzzled, shocked, speechless and scurrying away after being on the receiving end of abuse. Larry was without a doubt an amazing actor but letting him get too involved in pushing the buttons behind the scenes was a big mistake. He may not have rated Philip Capice, but Capice understood the character of JR much better than Larry did. I kinda think Larry let his personal politics enter the writing by trying to get the mean bad misogynistic capitalist JR to have his comeuppance.
Well that's just was his faults of being devious catching up with him that all the producers played it out well unforgettable performance to Larry hagman always and forever missed rip.
fwdthinker I love how Barbara seemed really busy in the beginning of this scene but when Jr. arrived in the office she stuck it to him and just bounced out with that sinister laugh of hers! Classic Eden.
Eden filled the void left by principal, gray, Howard, and tilton and it seems she should have been a regular credited cast member. She could out act Cally, Michelle, Vanessa and April. Eden was what this show needed two years before she came. Similar thing happened when dynasty brought Stephanie Beacham on to save it in its final season, it was simply to late by then
Eric OMG! I thought I recognized that laugh! Evil Jeannie was always fun to watch! The thing I love the most is that it took one of the kindest women ever (Eden) to finally kick that evil Jr’s ass the way I always wished Pam could have. I love this Michelle twist & I miss this show!!!
Absolutely! This was awful. JR at this time was no longer the titan he was seasons earlier. You can tell when a show has lasted too long. I don't know which was worst, JR losing to every Tom, Dick or Harry or that awful Hayleyville storyline.
It was great that Barbra did a few episodes. Loved the show. Though at the end it may have jumped the shark a few times lol classic JR from seasons 1-7 never would’ve let this happen
Now I never watched Dallas but you would think I'd "have gotten the memo" lol. I did not know Barbara Eden had also worked the Dallas Soap!! Good to see as others have commented.
Of course I know that 'Jeannie' was only a character that Barbara Eden played, but it's still surprising to me to hear her in this clip and find that her performance is so different.
The bad thing is J.R. obviously mellowed in his later years, and genuinely seems to feel sorry for the trouble he caused Barbara Eden's character in his youth, but all his evil doings of his younger days was finally catching up to him at the end of Dallas.
Would've been funny if just before the elevator doors closed, "Jeannie" would've done the Jeannie blink and her evil laugh as the doors finish closing and the camera then pans over to JR's bewildered face.
@@robertscott8344, most of those jobs are kick-back opportunities that are designed just to get a paycheck. You don't REALLY think those two nitwits did much of any real work. Laugh my ass off! They're easily replaced.
I can see Donna, Pam, and Sue Ellen, standing up to JR and buying Ewing Oil, but not Michelle. Larry Hagman should have fought for Susan Howard from being let go from the program. The last two seasons of Dallas the picture quality was not that good. I thought Falcon Crest and Dynasty had better picture quality in the last few seasons of their programs.
Now, in case no one knew, this is not the first time Larry and Barbra act together out side of Jennie.... They played a husband and wife in this thrller tv movie years ago.
Was Jr sure it was Lee ann and not her evil twin sister. The way she laughed even then he wasn't sure. Even LARRY Hagman was surprised by the laughed nice touch Barbara .
