Those moments with Zhao Yun were really promising. Such a shame she doesn't interect with the Shu characters, and she's really nothing but Liu Bei's doormat in this game.
Xing of Bashu Well, there's the one XL Shu mission involving Liu Bei & Sun Shangxiang escaping from attacking Wu forces, with Zhao Yun's help. Then there's the Free Mode version of "Revenge at Yiling" (XL; Shu Forces) if you play as Sun Shangxiang, complete with special dialogue at beginning & end.
@@Selfimprovement47 I wouldn't say its that fictionalized considering both Zhuge and Sima Yi were strategists that followed the art of war that was written a generation before the war of the three kingdoms.
@@Selfimprovement47 Zhuge Liang was one of the most impressive strategist in china history, and Zhao Yun was a master of using spears. You might not believe this but a good quality spear can be really OP, swords are no match for them Idk how impressive the actually are (i mean, it all happened 1800 years ago) but their contributions to the Shu are undoubtably remarkable and their loyalty are unmatched
Pang Tong place a chess and it materialized to a Shu army led by Guan Yu. Sima Yi then picks up a chess piece and flips it and smirks, soon transition to Xiahou Dun slashing and Guan Yu. Pang Tong lays another chess piece that calls the strong eastern winds to disrupts the enemy with Zhao Yun flying towards the enemy. POTENTIAL DW EMPIRES OPENING CINEMATIC
SoulKiller7Eternal Actually Zhao Yun has been far too immortalised and gloried by Romance of Three Kingdom while Dynasty Warriors brings it to a whole new level. The Truth is, the first time Zhao Yun ever led an army to war, it end with a disastrous defeat due to Zhao Yun and Zhuge Liang's incompetence which resulted in an all around demotion and pay check reduction.
bhauzery I am not talking about his leading skills, in ACTUAL HISTORY his feat at Chang Ban bridge was magical. He fought through the enemy army, TWICE to get Liu Bei his son back.
SoulKiller7Eternal It was actually exaggerated. Cao Cao sent 5000 riders to chase Liu Bei, which caught up to their gang at Chang Ban, Zhao Yun was something like Head Security of Liu Bei's family safety thus he carried Liu Shan on his back and protected Lady Gan until he delivers them to safety. The truth is the scenario was not as terrible as the Novel of Luo Guanzhong stated. Guan Yu and Zhang Fei while having a much smaller army than the 5000 Riders, I believe barely 1000 men managed to hold Cao Cao's riders back to give enough time to escape.
bhauzery Zhao Yun was a good general, but historically he was not flawless and perfect like Luo Guanzhong's ROTK stated. If he was, there's really no reason why the winner of the Three Kingdom was Wei/Jin and not Shu. Another immortalized and over-exaggerated was the 6th placed China's top 10 Greatest Strategists Zhuge Liang who in fact is ranked 1 place below Cao Cao's Guo Jia who sits in 5th place.
Was I the only one who just realized that Guo Jia is in the opening behind Xiahou Dun in 1:06? It's funny that I just saw him after beating the game years ago xD
Xiahou Dun needs his own opening, there's no one but Lu Bu who can trump his charisma and badass attitude! Let the two of them duke it out in the intro of DW 9!! :D
This is reminiscent of the old openings I really like it and it shows some characters other than just Zhao Yun and it gives some amazing effects to the game can't wait to play it!
Honestly His life story probably has the most interesting and the most mysterious. I think it was said he never once was injured in battle or something insane and has accomplished some insane feats in his day, He deserves poster boy material
Zhao yun is amazing though. He was my favourite right from when I played the dynasty 2 demo. Before he was the poster boy, now I love the fact that he is cause he always get extra attention put into his character =).
Because Zhao Yun is real life was fucking OP. He literally did ride against over 2000 enemy soldiers at Chang Ban, that is marked down. Then what Wu Zhang Plains he killed 4 Wei officers back to back in a row to save one Shu officer and it was said he was 64 at the time that happened...so you do the math. XD
InfernoFlame99 Right...because fighting through 2000 enemies or more twice doesn't take incredible feat? Please note he was forced to withdraw later due to said injury. He fought for a while...but not for the remainder of Xia Pi
Battle in chibi. Ah the memories when shu and wu teams up. 0:34 and i have no idea how zhao yun turns himself into a rocket by using wind current. Wtf? I guess this is dw universe.
Dang love it zhou yun just keep getting better and better. going to buy it for sure been a big fan since dw3 and still is. keep up the good work. yeah the chick are getting hotter and better too.support you guys all the way..........:)
@@BaronSengir1008 Keiji Maeda was suppose to be the strong wildman counterpart of Lu bu, but maybe they think he is not big enough that is why they put Tadakatsu Honda in the mantle.
yeah its my video of DW 8 walkthrough of course:)) the name is "Dynasty Warriors 8 - (Eng) How to Recruit Xu Shu" the thumbnail is there's Zhu ge Liang, cause Iam using Zhuge Liang in that battle :)
Ahhh right. I used to play a game which i'm sure was made by the same companies before Dynasty Warriors and was a more turn based strategy until you were in battles then you took control of a commander.
DW over the year: Zhao Yun saved his boss, saved his boss' son, saved bunch of Shu generals again and again and again. DW 8: Now he set to save his boss' new wife too.
My favorite character ever since in the beginning of DW is Zhao Yun because i like his skills and the way he use his spear. before he wasnt that popular but now is different :)
He was the first character I ever used in any DW game when I started with 5E... I was playing with a friend and actually refused to use anyone who had a sword...
Dynasty Warrior Logic: 1. Charge by horses, get back up 2. Slashed by Xiahou Dun multiple times, get back up 3. Run away from Lu Bu and don't dare PURSUE him unless you are a reckless bastard 4. Hit by SUPER FLASHY EXPLOSIONS, get back up. 5. YOU DIE WHEN YOU ARE HIT BY AN ARROW😕
Sangoku Musou (Dynasty Warriors) a 1vs1 fighting game for the PSX was the first game in the series. Whyle the US and EU just counted upwards after this, japan calls what we know as DW2 "SHIN Sangoku Musou" (Shin = True), and markt it as a new series more or less counting from there on up. Because the first one wasnt part of the "Shin" series, they counted to 7 games whyle we included it, and thus counted 8 games. Look it up next time before you open you pottymouth.
Dynasty Warriors was based off Romance of the Three Kingdoms Novels, historically, Zhao Yun had no Army or men of his own. Ever since he wandered off from the rich noob Yuan Shao, he was just a highly skilled and educated wanderer when he finally met Liu Bei who was constantly losing battles and having no increase in army size. All Zhao Yun did was act as a bodyguard. It was Zhuge Liang who gave Zhao Yun an army of his own. After he was given an Army to lead he quickly became famous for winning
That's exactly why it's like that. In Japan, DW1 was "Sangoku Musou". Dynasty Warriors 2 was a different style of game, so it was "Shin Sangoku Musou". Thus, DW3 for us was "Shin Sangoku Musou 2" for them. It's confusing for people that didn't know the first DW game was a fighting game and not a hack'n'slash
Although relatively short, this historical period has been greatly romanticised in the cultures of China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. It has been celebrated and popularised in operas, folk stories, novels and in more recent times, films, television serials, and video games. It's a fictional account of the period which draws heavily on history, meaning most of it is wrong (even in the books) and FYI, i meant the romance, not the three kingdoms era itself.
This game is one of the most beautiful and wonderful games that I've played in my life I really thank all those who contributed to this wonderful game But the truth in most parts of this game to Ataatoagd in the Arab world I am following all the news and developments game New systems and components Many thanks and appreciation
What are the main officers you play as for the different factions? Here are mine: Shu - Pang Tong Wei - Zhang He Wu - Lu Xun Jin - Xiahou Ba (still deciding on a main in this army) Other - Meng Huo
Shu: Jiang Wei (best officer) Wei: Cao Pi Wu: either Lu Xun or Sun Ce, possibly Zhou Yu. maybe Zhou Tai. hard to decide since they're all really good. Jin: Zhong Hui, hands down. too OP. Wen Yang and Sima Shi are close seconds, though. I also like using Sima Yi, just for the humor factor of wrecking face with a whip. Other: Dong Zhuo. ...PFFT, YEAH LIKE THAT'D EVER HAPPEN. nah, I don't really use the Other characters often. however, many of my characters have Lu Bu's halberd as their secondary weapon (or, they did, until I bought the DLC weapons for them), so I'd say technically I'd use him the most. Zhu Rong isn't too bad, either.
Zhong Hui was always OP, but he became super OP in DW8. half of his charge attacks have become unblockable by default. but yeah, he's great, especially with that EX attack.
999giratina Unblockable? That sounds like a nightmare, if you are going up against him. Sounds like he is the go to character for Chaos Mode. By the way, I made a mistake, I thought Zhong Hui was not introduced until DW8, he was in DW7, my bad.
since he's an AI otherwise, he's not really a problem unless he uses his Musou attacks (which are also OP), so don't worry about that. but yeah, him and his weapons are pretty much my "get things done quick" source on Chaos mode. actually, even in WO3U he's pretty good to use because of his EX attack. I've never played DW7 though, so while I'm sure he's not very different, I don't know for sure. also, I highly recommend Jiang Wei in DW8, and that's not just a biased statement. his weapon in it is a double-edged trident, which allows for an extremely flexible combo potential, considering how half of his charge attacks take him and his opponent into the air, and he throws his weapon like a BOOMERANG. plus, it looks cool, and looking cool is always nice. oh, and don't worry about your mistake bro. I thought the same thing until it said he had DW7 costumes in the menu.
of course, the three kingdoms existed. Romance of the three kingdoms is based on records of the Three Kingdoms which is a official and authoritative historical text.
Yes, after hearing the news of his brothers' deaths and seeking war against wu, liu bei refused the jing province that had been offered by sun quan for appeasement STILL. There's a good reason why shu fell first and it wasn't only because of jiang wei and liu shan.
Zhao Yun is poster boy because he is the most popular character in Japan and Koei is a...? Oh ya Japan company. They probably make Zhao Yun as a poster boy as a marketing tactic. Also Zhao Yun truly did an exceptional job despite holding the lowest position amongst Shu Kingdom's Five Tiger Generals for a very long time. He was for a very long time just a high ranking soldier on his own unlike Zhang Fei and Guan Yu. It was only after Liu Bei Guan Yu and Zhang Fei died he was given an army
