Zhu ran's weapon is hard to control really, as it is hard to aim while attacking and moving. But the advantage for his weapon is it can inflict damage for those enemies who has been target by Zhu Ran's weapon.

This battle is so much better when playing as Lu Meng or Zhou Tai instead. You will instead have to lure out a crap ton of Shu officers in the center to clear the way for Zhu Ran’s fire attack unit.

The idea of Zhu Ran being a pyromaniac sounds so cheesy, but it just means they could go crazy with him, Unfortunatley...yeah, their delivery of him was a tad underwhelming, but they at least tried to be different with him.

Interesting that they made him more boyish in this. In DW9, he seems a bit more mature. If you listen to his Japanese voice, in both DW8 and DW9, it's the same voice actor (Tetsuya Kakihara). However, he opts for two different portrayals of Zhu Ran, and personally prefer the DW9 version of Zhu Ran. That said, the fire arrow moveset is pretty damn cool.

I want to prove that the regular bow and flame bow are even once and for all. The regular bow, you can't really move. Which makes you have to focus on who comes closer to protect yourself. Flame bow is good for movement. But not enough to clear hordes of enemies. Which is why movement is added to slowly poke the enemy to the point where they're low on health. Hope this clears it up.

It doesn't help that Zhu Rans character is super annoying as well, but yeah I tried to use him myself but he is probably the worst character in DW 8 XL. So many times I slid around and hit nothing while doing shit damage not to mention none of his EX charge attacks have no synergy either he's a mess plain and simple and it's a shame I wish we had a mobile bow user that was good. I'd rather use Xiahou Yuan and Huang Zhong any day over him and even Lian Shi as well you just can't win wih Zhu Ran.

Well maybe u should put elements on weapons so u can ACTUALLY find wats good/bad about the char 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♂️

Even Guan Xing has a better moveset than him.
