I'm legit obsessed with Dynasty Warriors. I've played every single one along with Warriors Orochi. I love the style of combat, there's something about being surrounded by endless enemies and just absolutely wrecking them. Like Lu Bu always says "Is the anyone who can provide me with a decent challenge" 😂
Personally, I like what they did with the Musou attacks here. I loved when they would finish the usual chain with a huge cinematic attack like in Samurai Warriors 4.
Give that to the WO version of Wukong/Gokuu If the Dragon Ball version took his name, cloud and staff (in both Japanese and Chinese despite different English names), then the one based on the original Journey to the West version should gain some of that royalty.
I know this is late, but did you mean the one where he stuns the enemy and hits them with his halberd? There's an alternate move for it where if there's no enemies around, he'll have a red and black aura glow around him, making him invulnerable for a limited time. It's really fun to use, especially on "Chaos" mode.
I know I'm a bit late to the party but some of these Musous look like they were designed before the character was given their clone weapon. Cao Pi really sticks out with how his weapon combines ONLY for his special attack and some characters seem to go into different stances for a brief moment before shifting to the ones their weapon is meant for. I know KOEI said later on that they were highly pressed for time so does anyone else think there was probably more weapons planned than they got time to do? (Hence why it's all apparently being sold as planned DLC?) Disclaimer: I didn't buy/play DW9 so I'm only going on what I'm watching in the video. Anyone who has played the game could probably be more accurate about their observations.
always found it annoying when characters share weapons and attack patterns. doesn't make the individual characters unique and makes it seem like it was lazily made or made in a rush to meet the release date
I can't really fault them for it. It's the same reason why Super Smash Bros has clones. They may have run into problems with how much space they have or their budget or their deadline. Super Smash Bros Project +'s devs themselves are running into a problem with the fact that each character can only have so many unique animations. Besides, being in a rush to meet the release date, I can't fault that, either. The problem with delays is that publishers won't always even grant a delay or any raised budgets. The publishers are, after all, basically the devs' bosses through the process of creating a game, and they can very well get very much in the way. It sucks, but it's just how the game industry is. Some publishers are nightmares to work with, and a game can very well suffer because of it. As such, in some cases, you're left with a choice of either releasing a game as is or just cancelling it, and it is so frustrating to have to cancel a game that you've worked hard on with the intent to release it.
for me, DW5 still the best. no switch weapon, each character have some iconic things, like theirs weapon. even is similiar (EX: zhuge liang & sima yi Fan. pang tong & zhang jiao staff. sun quan, cao cao, sun jian, dong zhuo, zhou yu , & etc. their swords have some different unique movesets)
You know its sad when zhen ji and and that woman who used to have harp as a weapon is no longer exist in this game (the weapon). But still Diao Chan musou attack is the deadliest and the prettiest for sure
@@rawa_a the only game that didn't do that was Dynasty Warriors 8. They gave a few characters their weapons from the earlier games. For example: Cao Pi, they gave him his duel swords. I was really happy about that. Was mad that they changed Gan Ning's flail weapon in 8 back to the chain and sickle, like he did back in 7. I thought it was better he had the flail, worked better. Was glad Cao Ren got his bladed shield back.
@@markbaltazar6916 tell me about it, since one year and i'm really disappointed, most of my fav characters have been changed Lu Lingqi now has the same weapon as xing cai ,zhang he , zhen ji , wang yi all of their weapons have been replaced.
@@rawa_a I mean, I would've been fine if Lu LingQi's weapon was a mix of Lu Bu's weapon's and another, I think that'd make her much more unique. Didn't Zhen Ji have the whip since 6? I know they brought the flute back in 7 or 8, which I was really happy about. I am glad Taishi Chi kept his weapons that he's had since the 5th installment. Was really pissed that they decided that Yue Jin and Xiahou Yuan should have the same weapon's as him. I mean, the hook swords were really Yue Jin's type of weapons since his movesets were more of him being quick.
A year late, but to answer your question about Zhang Chunhua, she was said to be far sadistic than Sima Yi. When Sima Yi told Cao Cao he wasn't feeling well, he lied so he wouldn't participate in the battle. While he was out of the battle, he was almost snitched on by their maid, til his wife intervened and killed her. Sima Yi was even afraid of her at times.
If Zhou Tai wants his katana (curved sword) back so bad, why don't they just give it to him? Come on, Tecmo 😑 Anyways, Sun Jians and Lu Bus aerial musous are the best
DW9 you gotta admit, they did try something different, it's not gonna be "your favorite dw with better graphics" it's a weird open world coop game, very janky and love it or hate it feel on how you can cheese a ton of mechanics with how new it is Like you can literally just go straight for the enemy commander in some missions and no need for reinforcements or anything, just an actual in game assassination idea
honestly I think DW9 isn't that horrible, but the whole concept of the open world has really died down because people began to see what it really is, just a bunch of nothing on the path to one place or another. If it had come out earlier I think it might have been better received
So not only did this game sacrifice everything that made Dynasty warriors what it is, in return we got a empty open world to "play" in....someone hit the return button I don't want this.
If it wasn't for the glaring problems this game had, this would have been a pretty good evolution to the warriors series in general. Take my opinion with a grain of salt as you will.
Weapon dups are the worst. It is that difficult to give each character their own weapon? I hate it when they take away a character’s iconic weapon, ie Zhen ji
Many characters lost their iconic weapon like Zhang He as well but i suppose we can imagine it was like when Dynasty Warriors 6 made a major removal of a lot of characters in exchange for new gameplay UI so I guess for now this is temporary dupe and they'd bring back more in 10
In history subject i've always wonder how do people fight in war like 1000 army vs 10,000 army and the 1000 win. They don't even have gun that time. But after playing this games since dynasty warriors 4, where 1 person can literally kill up to 1000 people. It is safe to say that back in the days people fight like this. They have musou and magic 😂😂😂
You know how you have 4 charge attacks you can do now? One of them (the one to the right) is always a special skill for when a character use their unique weapon. It works on a cool down
I'll wait for DW9XL, too busy playing Monster Hunter World atm. I'm still not feeling the whole open world thing either. I really hope they remake DW4 or 5. Those 2 were my all time favorites!
This game pisses me off. Koei dropped the ball big time for this game. I've been a fan since DW2 and I thought 2 & 6(base) were bad nope DW9 takes the cake
Wow im so glad I jumped off the dynasty warriors train this one looks far worse and so many unique weapons removed and just clone weapons added. Shows that developers are just getting lazy
