Hey Jeff you are one of the greats in regards to innovating splicing. I wanted to suggest considering linking up with Grog knots so he can make step by step animated tutorials for his website and app to reach more people and help people learn-crediting you in the info of course.

You should send a couple to hownot2 to break. I would like to see where it fails. Cool soft shackle.

Cool invention. I made two. Your direction could not be any clearer. I had made your button knot shackle before, but needed a refresher. I am going to use them on my continuous loops, to connect to my whoopie sling. For some reason, burying the ends (last step on knot) always is tough for me. More practice is needed, you made all look so easy. Thanks

Thanks for this great tutorial - my 8-year old son is trying to make one out of Zing-It 1.75 to replace some caribiners for our upcoming (short) Appalachian Trail hike in a couple weeks. Question: do you think this is the best caribiner replacement to hold something like a GPS to your backpack, when closed in "dynamic mode"? Looking for "secure within reasonable scenarios."

What is the breaking strength of the fast shackle compared to a regular button knot soft shackle with loop? For sailing application

So I’m going to start trying some of your stuff but since I only have access to 1/8 dyneema rope I was wondering if any of the measurements used for whoopie slings, evo loops and fast shackles need to be changed from the ones you use with 7/64 in your instructions.

I cringed as I reflected on how much time I have wasted thinning my Amsteel ends so carefully by plucking out a single strand, cutting it, repeat 3 times. That was waaaaay easier!

Hi Jeff, I'm not really good at making those shackle things but I would like to buy a couple of them off of you if I could.

I like this design you made for the quick and ultra secure. Question about offroad vehicle application. I have a sizable recovery eq bag, and want to start using softs but I dont trust the typical noose and quick. I like this tail for the ultra If I need a safety line on somebody before they roll off a cliff, I want to either mindlessly trust it or I'm just going to use my D rings. I have a splicer end link on my winch and fix line all the time for myself and others. Have a 3/8 fid. I want to make 12" or 16" length shackles like this out of 3/8 to replace my D Rings. I want 4 of em. You said 28" of rope but didnt give the shackle size. Looks like 6" with a tail? 12" 3/8 dyneema with this design. Whats the equation for rope length? Thanks!

This looks to be more versatile than the evo loop - does the evo loop have any advantages or applications that the fast shackle does not have?

Have you ever done a breaking test on these? What were the results like?

Did you make that pulling tool, or purchase it, and if so where?
