Sent in my DC41 for repair. It was fixed. Was initially told that even though the repair itself has a warranty, I'd have to pay $100 for shipping, in order to fix a part that Dyson themselves fixed just 6 months ago, after about 3 or 4 uses. Ridiculous. So technically the part is still under warranty, so I get the part at no cost... But I'd have to pay $100 to actually send it back to the service center, because that's how warranties work! Thankfully after calling the service center, they flagged my account to show no charge for the repair. Apparently their website is STILL bugged out. Ugh. UPDATE: unrelated, Dyson has sent me a replacement V11 Assembly, so that, combined with them fixing my 41, I'm satisfied.
@@kendrickwilliams9396 Marko sold it to me without disclosing that all the hoses were broken, so I had to either fix them myself or send it in for warranty repair. I elected to send it in
@@IntellitechStudios Wow, they sent you a cordless V11 as a replacement for the DC41? My UP13 had the issue with the handle and all staying upright. Kept falling over and I had to repair myself... not thinking to call Dyson for warranty. I'll have to check out and see as when I chatted with them regarding my DC56 and V7, the service person noted they'd be sure my warranty info was present when their system was back online and for me to contact later to see about if under warranty and they could send me the part. I just picked up a DC41 cyclone-canister to see if I can hack onto a Kirby G4 and later G models I own.
It was definitely way nicer when hose removal and installation was a 2 step process like on the kinetic ball, DC15 and DC25. I honestly wonder if you could just use JB weld to fix up the internal hose and maybe drill holes in the plastic to reinforce the plastic bonder
Great insight, thanks for sharing! I've recently invested in a DC56, V6 Absolute and V7 I upgraded to add a HEPA filter though that cyclone was cracked. I also owned a UP13 and older DC25 that was and still is my go to. The UP13 needed a repair to keep the upright part staying upright... I made a video showing, albeit I'm not the best producer/editor since lately most productions are impromtu and I don't bother editing most of em due to time. Anyways, reminds me to contact Dyson support again
I agree with you. I think Dyson are making a big mistake basically abandoning uprights. Quite a few people are starting to go back to corded uprights, and I think Dyson should capitalize on that. I have an Animal 2 and I really quite like it, it’s one of my favorite bagless uprights. Hopefully they reverse course and start developing them again, but only time will tell
I just bought a Miele C3 Marin canister vacuum and it's really good except for the telescoping wand which doesn't stay where I want it. Keeps sliding down a lot when I try to vacuum carpets with it which is annoying. It seems like a common issue even though it's supposed to be professional quality.
Luckily on the UK models they’ve done away with the DC41 style of internal hose being hard to fix, the models here are all based on the DC40 size of ball and the internal hoses are all removable which I’m glad about. The yolk assembly being attached to the internal hose is quite an odd design for such a common wear and tear part
I stand/walk on a SEBO Felix or X7 and they don’t break. Do the same on a Dyson and it cracks or a part breaks off. I never liked Dyson uprights after the DC24 and DC25 were discontinued. These current ones just feels so cheap, nasty and cheaply made. I know Dyson call it ‘Lean Engineering’ but I prefer a machine to feel durable and strong when in use.
Both dyson and shark should reinforce their vacuums to make sure that the hoses don’t break. I hate how vacuum companies are so self centered and extremely profit driven and don’t care about their products anymore. Also the main flaw with sharks that I hate is the lack of repairability and parts but I love how their vacuums perform especially their duo clean models.
Hi there, I would also like to add that I am disappointed that Dyson have the old style DC41 small hose connection at the bottom with a screw that is unlike the DC40. Like you pointed out, when it breaks, it can't be changed easily. In the UK, Dyson have improved the 'durability' if I can call it than by making the top of the plastic wand chunkier with more 'supports' on the handle section, so it does not bend as much when turning left and right. It also means the tools are different tool have the same red buttons like the V8, V10, V15 etc. We also get another Dyson upright with an aluminium wand a much stronger spine. It seems they focussed on the UK which is strange as cordless sell more here. Also, the uprights are never available for sale. I bet Dyson did it deliberately, so customers buy the cordless instead. Dyson should have given America these models as well. I find that the handle bends too much when trying to turn corners with DC40, so I do not bother trying to turn it, just go back and fourth. I like the DC40 and SEBO Felix as uprights.
This Dyson vacuum story should be an exposé on CBS's 60 Minutes in America. I see class action lawsuits coming if Dyson continues with these flawed quality control issues. ✓
Shady planned obsolescence right there! I've had the same issue with Dyson ball when it was only a few months old. My next vacuum is definitely going to be a Sebo.
It's not a design flaw... rather it's designed to break. Otherwise like you said it would have a twist and lock mechanism. My changeover valve got a hole in it and and now I have to fix it and across this vid lol
I have a dc41 I didn’t have this issue you had but the red plastic piece that’s shaped like a u that holds the motorized brush roll on is broken in 2 pieces I just have it taped because I’m cheap
Dysons are very nice vacuums but they have severe quality issues. Especially cordless models. They are uber expensive and break constantly. Just see Beko1987 channel how much broken cordless Dysons he gets to repair.
Customer service has been anything but pleasant in there defense I couldn’t relinquish a recpit from an authorized dealer. eBay doesn’t count brand new in the box I learned my lesson I now only purchase Miele lindhouse like god intended
That's strange how they wanted a receipt. My total clean was bought on ebay new in box and I still was able to get my warranty active after just sending an email showing the ebay proof of purchase
@@IntellitechStudios yeah apparently Dyson has authorized dealers eBay wasn’t one of them. I purchased the cinetic big ball canister and I love no filters however COMMA I DO open up it just see filter that it does have and it’s pitch black. I digress brand new the previous owner never registered it and I asked if she had the original receipt 🧾 sadly no. I was having issue with the winding up the cord so send it via ups and that’s when they ask for the original receipt and since I couldn’t produce they took two years off the five year warranty so you better I call and ask for parts even i don’t need them
Let’s talk about price gouging how in the H e double hockey 🏒 stick does Amazon get off with charging 800 for the cinetic big ball canister another thing how is Amazon trying to pass another canister big ball as just realized in 2022 America I don’t think so. My next talking point the Japanese get way cooler version of the dyson ball canister it’ll fit on a white sheet of paper holy mother of god I need that sorry I’m high
What about the big ball shell that becomes not aligned which making stupid noise touching the ball generating friction noise from both shells !!!!!!! It is a bad design as well !!!!!!!!! both shells are having same problem !!! There is nothing in the shell to keep aligned, may two tiny nobs One millimeter high and 2 mm square size on the sides !!!!!!!!! these plastic tiny things becomes flat in couple of months, then , the shell start touching the ball and scratch it !!!! Dyson Vacuum is bad machine, I will never buy again !!!!!!!!! this is not a $600 vacuum , it is garbage !!!
That’s your opinion ok unless you living with MR DYSON I WONT ALLOW YOU TO ATTACK HIM. Your right I’m more of a cansiter man the cinectic was better than sliced bread
