The turret has weak armor for its level - 185 mm, which at an angle of 20° barely reaches 200, that is, the front of the turret is one of the weakest areas of the tank. Turret E-50 Ausf. M World of Tanks is saved only by the large gun mantlet, the armor of which, combined with the armor of the turret's forehead, gives a reduced armor of about 320-340 mm, which tells us that the mantlet is impenetrable for basic shells.
The sides of the tower have 80 mm each and are located at acute angles relative to the front plane of the tower. Due to such good angles, the given armor also turns out to be good, but as soon as you tighten the turret a little more, the E 50 M World of Tanks becomes very penetrable, so it is very important to always point the turret towards the enemy.
If we talk about what the E 50 Ausf. M characteristics of the side armor, here the enemy is met by 80 mm plates located at a slight angle. Unlike the E-50, very thin fender bulwarks are installed along the entire length of the hull. They do not play a significant role, but sometimes they save you from unnecessary damage from a high-explosive projectile or from penetration by a cumulative projectile. In addition, if the tank is positioned correctly in a diamond shape, you can withstand a blow well even from top-end equipment, but you need to turn it well.
I believe that the E 50 M tank has one of the best armor among all medium tanks of the 10th level, especially if you use it skillfully, placing the tank in a diamond shape. In general, almost all German tanks like to stand in the “diamond” position; this makes our armor more effective, increasing its reduced thickness of the armor plates. It is worth mentioning that “tanking” sideways has become more difficult than on a regular E-50, since the tank’s turret is shifted slightly forward, but it is still quite possible.
As a result, the E 50 M tank has good maneuverability, which allows us to easily maneuver around the map and be where we are needed to protect or break through a direction.
