Hi Larry, despite the fact that my husband and I were both VERY hesitant, on your recommendation we sent off for an e-collar. I went through a 2 week SLOW! period training and conditioning my Labrador to the e-collar. NOW! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! I can walk anywhere with her and all I have to do is tap the button and she turns and comes to me. She no longer runs off and I can have a nice walk with her. Thank you so much for all your information and training guidance. So glad I followed your advice.
Larry, I have been training dogs for over 30 years, all by myself, out of my home, doing it full time. I love your videos and can identify with your attitude and caring for dogs and people. If you train, they will come. I don't have to advertise at all and am grateful. My dogs are my advertisement. We are blessed to have the opportunity to help all of these dogs and to help people. Keep up encouraging everyone and sharing all that you know. Blessings on you!!
More great info. I must say I think you are the most honest and open trainer I have watched on YT .Your videos aren't just Ads saying look what I can do. Very refreshing .Thank you :)
Appreciate the tips- my GSD has a very thick neck and it was difficult achieving a balance of probe length and collar tension. I will try going to a shorter length again. The only downside of my e collar training is dog is collar literate. When it is on him he doesn't push behavioral boundaries, is calmer, only barks to alert and is just great. Without collar well behaved 80% of the time but delays responses occasionally. Not a problem as I want him to enjoy being a dog...He is 3 1/2. BTW, I use the vibrate mode almost all the time. Thanks for your videos!
Larry, I just watched the tips and tricks video. Please ignore my recent email as you covered most of my questions regarding training a deaf dog. I'm ready to get started now. Thanks, Vicki in Oregon.
Thank you once again Great tip. I immediately checked the fit on my Very thick long haired GSD with 3/4" contacts. Never thought of that possibility. Great advice again. PS I believe on mine the 3/4" are Ok. But worth the checking.
Thanks for the tips Larry! Inconsistent contact has been one of the most difficult things about using the e-collar on my longer haired shepherd who likes to move around when i'm putting the collar on. Will try putting in on when he's in a down. What are your thoughts on the different bungee / spring tension collars available? Do you use any?
Hi Larry, just want to thank you for your tips in regards to E Collar! Got one and I can see a huge progress with my dog!!! Just using a vibration and sound feature and it gave great results. Just want to tell other dog owners before they use this training tool: WATCH AND LISTEN Larry's tutorial videos first! Do not use this tool as a remote control and use it as less as possible. Could not believe how much can improve your dogs behavior. As Larry said, set on the minimum vibration and find the spot where the dog turns towards you with a question mark above his head. :-) Then call him or ˝tell˝ him what do you want him to do. and of course give him a treat same moment... BUT, without watching Larry's video instructions, do not play with this ˝weapon˝. No need for electric shock at all if you do it the right way. THANKS HEAPS LARRY!
***** OK, thanks. I spend a lot of time driving so listen to a lot of podcasts and it would have been great to assimilate your wisdom on the move ! Great information, your other ecollar intro video is the first time I 'got' the modern way you guys use them. I've been a little scared of them to be honest but your video has set off a light bulb.
