One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE planes. I had the Timber 1.5 for only a few months when the Turbo Timber came out. I remember sitting there looking at both on the table before I flew the Turbo thinking, “I just bought the same damn plane with a better propeller!” Nothing against the Timber 1.5, it’s now a great float plane, but the match of esc, motor and prop on 4s- the Turbo is about perfect. And I can prove it. Look at my Apprentice, Timber 1.5 and my 3rd Timber UMX. Battle scars, tape and hot glue. The Turbo doesn’t have a scratch or a dent on it. (Easy to takeoff, fly and land) 5 years ago to be honest, I was wearing out the “A” switch. (Back and forth from AS3X and Safe. Buy this plane, buy an extra prop and enjoy. Looking back, I could’ve skipped the Apprentice and the Timber 1.5 and used this as my 1st real RC plane. (Started with the SkyKing and the Hawksky at a neighborhood park)

The timber is an absolute staple for any RC hangar. Happy flying and stay healthy everyone!

This is an amazing flying airplane, a member at our club has it and we flew it last weekend before dark, lights and flight performance were excellent, was very easy to see with bright lights all around plane, including super bright landing lights, I would highly recommend to new pilots as my friend is new at this as well, thank for sharing RCG👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼

The Turbo Timber, as I look back on my lackluster 5 year career in this fun sport, could be the best/most forgiving planes I’ve owned and flown. It’s also a heck of a float plane. I know there’s a bunch of Bush style planes I’ve never flown, but the combination of STOL, giant foam wheels, AS3X and the all important SAFE for beginners. The Turbo Timber might be the only of my high wings that’s never needed a replacement prop, landing gear or wing. Very forgiving plane, easy to fly, on 4s can move and be acrobatic. Great design.

In engineering, wing loading is the total weight of an aircraft divided by the area of its wing. The stalling speed of an aircraft in straight, level flight is partly determined by its wing loading. I'm studying engineering.

Looks like a real winner! 👍🏻 Might have to get one for this next flying season. It’s getting pretty cold and windy here in the west burbs of Chicago!!!

Aeroelasticity is the natural tendency of any wing to flex under aerodynamic and inertial loads while in flight. Most designs seek to minimise the effects by making the wing structure as stiff as possible. However some have sought to use the effect to advantage.

1:53 I bought 2 kits. On one of them I installed the slots. Take off is even more shorter, still like the one without.

Or buy a spare wing and install the slats on that one

What was the C rating on the 4S you guys were using? I have a 4S 30-40C and she's powerful, but not quite like this lol.

PS you don't build a Turbo Timber, you assemble it. I want one, great flying airplane.

I’m not exactly sure what that little wood thing is but I think it’s got something to do with the lights they installed on the plane like a third-party company wants his little logo you know just a reminder of the old Wood models🤟

Do you think this could be suitable for an intermediate pilot or is it “overpowered" on 4S?
@rcgvideos

Certainly a great plane for intermediate pilots.

If you had slats on you culd land it on the table

Would this be good as a first plane? And if not, what would you suggest?
@rcgvideos
@rcgvideos 4 года назад
Not a great first plane, but check out the Aeroscout here www.horizonhobby.com/product/aeroscout-s-1.1m-rtf/HBZ3800.html It's one of the best first airplanes you can get.

@@rcgvideos would the Aeroscout be better than the Mini Apprentice and or the Eflite Timber series?

Sport Cub S2. Cheaper and practically flies itself. But beware of wind, even light breezes.

What is the difference between a 4S and a 4C batteries?
@rcgvideos
@rcgvideos 4 года назад
The "S" refers to the cell count. So a 4S battery is 4 cells in series. The "C" would refer to the C rating also known as discharge rate. It's a number the makers assign to a battery to indicate the max or constant rate at which the battery can be discharged safely. A 4C battery would be able to put out 4 times it's capacity so a 2000mAH lipo could put out 8A of power.
