I'm running HRB 5000 50c and it fits fine just need to remove some foam from the canopy. This is a lick of my flight on this pack ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ItD9dCradQ.html All so link for the canopy mod ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2pna0w9ArPw.html Cheers.
Garfield thank you for the reply. There have been others that have cut a lot from the canopy and even positioned the pilot higher to achieve this. I didn’t want to cut anything. I’d be interested to feel what the plane feels like in the air with that heavy of a pack. Have you flown it with a lighter pack?
I had seen that video before, I just didn't want to cut my canopy. Personal preference. I bought some 3250mah batteries that I've been flying on, unfortunately most people wouldn't want to pay what I did for them so I never made a post about it. Thank you for keeping me in the loop about it though!
I tried out the new batteries the other day on my Cessna Z & worked very well, getting 6 mins flight on each. I have a 5000 60 & that has already ‘puffed’ Here is the flight: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YTlBuocu5t0.html
G'day mate, Just bought 2 Turnigy from HK Australia 4000 meh 6S 30C with XT90, which I will cut off & attach the EC5 plugs A$64 each delivered (US$45 each) I can also use these as extra batteries for my Cessna Z
My only concern is that I'm having "puff" problems with 30c's. I don't think they have a high enough C rating for this plane. Otherwise that's an awesome deal for 6s batteries.
I show the zippy compact 4500mah 40c being 45mm tall so for a tight canopy fit you would probably either have to move it back and balance accordingly or remove some material. It’s essentially 3mm taller than this battery which is less than 1/4” but you get the idea.
Those look like a pretty cost effective solution. Based on the 45x48x138 dimension I'm pretty sure you would still have some clearance issues. Cheapest I found them for was $73.99 as well
@@wholenineyards7663 They must have gone up in price. I bought 6 of them a year ago and they were 49.99 when I purchased them for my Synergy 516 heli. Have you had any issues with the servos on that model? I want this plane or maybe the FMS avanti 70mm which I hear is the faster of the two.
I have not had any servo issues. I flexed all surfaces and have about a dozen flights on it so far. I've never flown the Avanti but I know they share a lot of the same characteristics. My new toy will probably be the E-Filte F16. I'm supposed to get mine tomorrow.
Watched this again, great info mate. Having elite Timber-Maule-Apprentice-Cherokee-Cessna Z I mainly fly in Safe mode in scale) Do you think I could manage this Viper as my first Jet?
I think this would be a good first EDF for you. The plane itself is very forgiving and easy to fly as long as you can keep orientation and having the safe function is always nice.
Many thanks. I will be sailing to SAN Francisco from Australia next month & hope to buy one in a hobby shop there as the Viper is still not available here. Regards
Charged the lipo as per normal so did nothing different. Still working well & charged to 95% Hope it’s getting warmer over there. Looking fwd to your next video. Regards
