De Angelis is introducing on the market a new friction-steering axle which gives the possibility to manage the direction at low speed (either forward and backward directions).
This innovation has been possbile thanks to a set of hydraulic/electronic devices developed by the internal Engineering Department of the Company.
In order to maximize the steering action, together with this accessory it is possible to install axles up to 25/27° steering angle (according to make)
SUGGESTED SCOPE:
- Semi-trailers with rigid chassis and a maximum of 5-axles
- Semi-trailers 3/4 axles with telescopic frame (single extension)
- Trailers up to 5 axles
TECHNOLOGY:
This new technology is absolutely safe because it works only at low speed.
When a higher speed is reached (over 8 km/h), the system automatically shut off and the axle becomes a traditional friction-steering one (working only by friction).
ADVANTAGES:
For all vehicles that don't really need force steering systems of more than 2 axles and a steering radius higher than 25°, the E.M.S offers a great number of advantages:
- lightness: total weight of the E.M.S. is in the range of 30 to 75 kg (depending if a power box is needed or shared with other hydraulic functions)
- cheapness: E.M.S is far cheaper than all other force-steering technologies
- safety: automatic shut off of all electronic/hydraulic functions when the speed of 7/8 km/h is reached
- easy to use: radio remote control with left/right button + re-alignement system
