it's not the electric scooter it's the rider and bad Parents letting them use them The Riders that being antisocial should have a fine The riders that are riding Sensible and being safe should be ok to ride the police should stop bad riders and give them a hard talking to and I believe it should be given a chance they are Accidents with cars and motorcycles and push bikes and not many on E scooters it a friendly and clean environment improvement to the world and it a great way for people to get to and from work and not forgetting we had a Pandemic and it was a lovely and nice way to get around can understand it's not on to race on paths and though town paths give electric scooter a brake and chance.

Quack! My argument is... they should NOT be allowed to sell Escooters in shops if they are illegal to ride anywhere without permission in the UK. It's like cannabis... You can have possession of it for medical reasons... But if you are caught selling it.. You are jailed for dealing!.. Shouldn't it be the same for Escooters? DuckMan

@@DuckManMascot its also about the general public. If a member of the public were to make a fuss, and draw the attention of the police, and ask them why aren't they inforcing the law, then it might lead them to enforcing the letter of 'the law', if not its spirit.

I've got a ebike that's styled like a moped and the only things separating it from being a moped is the speed limit and it having pedals that "can" propel it. I would do a lot more damage to someone or to a car if i crashed than the scooters.

An ebike is classed as a bike because it is literally bike shaped. You can take it anywhere a bike can go.

If those mobility scooters came out now like the elderly use I reckon they would also be illegal for a while. I totally agree though, ive seen a few accidents in them with people driving them when they shouldnt anymore

They are far safer than bikes; lower center if gravity, easy to control at slow speeds. I think they should be regulated by power output as some can reach speeds of 40mph. They are here to stay, clean, cheap and convenient.

i experienced the same thing... the police cannot take it from you if your pushing / walking it along... but if your seen riding it.. they may take it from you... however... the police may approach you with accusation saying.. "it was reported that someone of your description was seen riding an E-scooter"... and they could take it from you depending on your reaction to them.. soooooooo i say... STAY HUMBLE.

Hmmm... It appears the police are being selective with who they approach! Sorry but.. If something is illegal.. They should NOT sell them! If they stop 1 person who is driving them..surely They must STOP all... But thats not what they're doing. The police know they're great for commuting.. But they are still illegal to ride.. So they're following their duty.. And i respect that.. But i DO NOT respect that everyone is given a diffrent treatment if found riding them! Its like.. If someone was being murdered infront of a cop.. The cop will call for backup.. Try to intervene.. Etc etc.. But catching some1 riding an E-scooter is sometimes given the blind eye... Thats because the police know its ridiculous and the LAW must change ASAP!

@@DuckManMascot Agree with everything you have said. But there is no offence at all of using a mobile phone to video record on a public footpath. But the police want to fit the recorder up.

I bought one but am still trying to get my license. I believe it should be allowed without because its kinda the same as a bike and similar rules still apply. The ease of quick and portable transportation without having to get sweaty would be so great if not such a hassle to get the requirement to ride. Its kinda common sense that applies.

What law are they breaking? Officers have every right to use discretion when something might be technically against the law, but not posing any risk that the law was designed to reduce, like if an officer with a speed gun caught you doing 31 in a 30, technically it's black and white and you're breaking the law, but any reasonable officer will use their discretion and not take any action

If they do that then it’s going to be inevitable they will be fed the odd one or two for their theft and quite rightly so.

Cool, by they shouldn't be on the side walk, and personal ones are illegal on road. They should be banned everywhere, everyone's going on side walks and running red lights killing people or injuring them. They most likely would get rid of them after the trials cuz alot of people have died due to them.

Easy charge for them isnt it they have targets the MET police. Out in thr countryside a bit more they more likely to leave you alone.

Order 1 from a store called Pure Electric They're legit & have 2 shops here in London.. 1 in Victoria and tge other in Holborn.. They will deliver to you there in west Midlands.. Might take a week or so.. But its worth it..
