Thats good to know that etravel is not required for foreigners leaving the Phils. Because It doesnt really make sense why would they need that info. They have that control on Filipino citizens for going abroad for tracking purposes.
Greetings, here's some real time intel on NAIA in regards to this departure protocol. I flew out of Manila yesterday morning and I was asked by security why I had arrived so early. Had to show them the protocols for arriving at the airport 6 hours prior to a longhaul flight. Further, the government has clearly not told front line workers at NAIA that foreigners do not need to fill out a departure card. I was asked for it, luckily I had my QR code ready. This is the problem with the bureaucratic system of government, the structure is too big, two many levels of management, which in turn creates confusion. Just sharing my personal experience 😂
Why do you need to arrive 6 hours early for long flight? Asking because my uncle is taking my aunt out and we made their flight arrive 4 hour early from Mindinao.

Jennifer, I’m an American citizen. I sign up eTravel a day before my departure. I took a picture of my QR. When I went to immigration officer she told me I did not need to show my QR picture. She said it OK because my eTravel info already in the government system. No paper document was written. I feel is 100% better than the old system. It was painless. Great channel.
Great info Jenn! It just didn't make sense for foreigners to have to complete this. So I was glad to see that calmer heads prevailed at the immigration dept and they changed the policy. It did not make sense to word that they would require the foreigner to halt their trip in failure of complying with E-Travel to exit our country. I'm not an lawyer, but I am sure some international agreements or moral laws say that you can't do something like that.

@@wengelder9256 Refusing entry and refusing exit are different. I lam born and raised in Philippines. I've only left once when Papa went home to North Carolina when I was 12. I probably will never leave again, but keeping someone from boarding a flight because I owe the 100 pesos to someone who could make up anything isn't really moral and that's what happens. Refusing entry based on public health and knowning where the foreigner goes is fine. Where foreigner goes isn't our business. Buang.
Hi Jennifer, I did my E-Travel today. Which was 4 days out from my flight and I got my QR Code . The whole thing took me about 6 minutes. Thanks for all your help taken us step by step through the E-Travel filling out. I check my email and I did receive the E-Travel QR Code from them .

I hope the requirement for Arrival cards for returning Filipinos would also be scrapped. It's kind of silly to ask why a Filipino would be returning home. And pre-pandemic, only foreigners were required to fill up Arrival cards.
I left NAIA on Sunday (7th May) evening to return to the UK, no airport officials asked to see my departure QR code, ( I hadn't seen this latest update from you until I returned home,) I just walked straight through, the Filipino citizen I was travelling with also didn't need to shown their QR code

Always great info Jen, I had a flight with PAL to depart April 26 that I had booked back in 2022 so many time changes with them and in 12 hours before my flight was canceled, The massage said due to maintenance and could rebook may 6, I am fortunate I can book another flight and my credit card company will get me my refund, but this is the last time I ever book PAL for any international flights!
Why are they still requiring a Covid test on entry? I’ve gone to Thailand two times in the past year when I would’ve preferred to go to the Philippines, because Thailand is not requiring anything from any traveler you just show up.
Hello Jennifer, thanks for the update, I watched the previous vlog and didn't understand the point you stated as to the purpose of disclosing your departure destination. So anyway, this update of not requiring non-Filipinas/nos to do this is good to know, thank you.
As a foreigner, if they would get rid of the ECC requirement and replace it with this one, that would be great. Do everything online and you don’t have to go to the main office, which is a nightmare.

Jennifer, how about us that have SRRV.? Can you address this. SRRV holders have to report their travel 1 week before leaving to the PRA for a departure Pass and entry Pass on return.
Yes. You have to get a travel pass from PRA. You don't have to do the e-travel (departure from PH) since you're a foreign passport holder. But upon return to PH, you'll need the e-travel (arrival) - it's for everyone to fill out. Save/ download your QR code.

I just want to let you know that a strange incident happened in which our E Travel QR Codes were not even scanned during our arrival in Manila from LAX via PAL last July 24, 2023. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Yes but it does not matter . Info is in system . They don’t need to scan . They know you are in the country from the e travel , from the flight manifest and from immigration processing of your passport .
I understand that all filipinos must do the etravel. I am an American traveling back to the U.S.. I understood that I do not need to do an etravel but that mean I will have to fill out a paper based form again. Bcoz they will pass it out in the airport or on the plane.
I went on vac. last month to phil .. airport officials never ask me to any of this required documentations ...same thing on my return trip ... my guess is, some airport officials are profiling some arriving and departing passengers according to their skin color and facial appearance ..
Just to clarify…how Bout Phil. Passport holders who are Perm Residents of other countries (for example US) with a US permanent card? Do they still have to register on etravel upon exit from the Phils?
Chaos from ill-considered communications is the norm in Philippines. Reminds me of thr Preseidents edict in Covid telling all foreigners they had just 72 hours to leave Philippines or become indefinitely stranded here. Caused panic and mayhem as foreigners tried to leave en-masse to beat the deadline. Two days after making the deadline well is was withdrawn. People had paid extortionate fares to leave in an emergency while the government played a game with a deadline to remove our liberty. Many booked and paid for flights which got canceled and took months or years to get refunded. to register thru E-travel when entering Phils is understandable. Good that they changed rules for foreign passport holders coz is not necessary. Just to not confuse departing foreigners, dont need to check e-travel system anymore. And immigration personnel shld be aware of that ruling and not to use that as “holding” reason to hold/delay departing foreign nationals. 😏
