JrXPro was my first race kit I bought when I was a kid. I wanted an RC10 Team Car but Tower Hobbies was out of stock so they talked me into buying a JrXPro. I was happy they did and I never looked back. I didnt get my first RC10 until last spring. I bought a few off of Ebay recently. Restored one for the shelf and one for the track. I put my surplus parts and a whole JrXPro with vintage electronics back on Ebay right now.

I had a Losi Junior 2 in the early 90's and sold it a few years later like an idiot! It's amazing how good all Losi products handle no matter what you do to them, I raced mine on a concrete course with jumps and finished 2nd the very first time I raced! Amazing buggy, surprised I hadn't bought another Losi buggy yet!

I just found your channel a few days ago. I'm digging everything you're doing, subbed! The red steering parts look like RPM. I think Losi came up with the 5 link to show (1) there's other ways to make it work and (2) we didn't just copy the RC10. The Trinity motor (if it doesn't have adjustable timing) is 27 turn for stock class. Anything less was considered to be modified class. The guy you got this from was a hard-core racer on a budget! I never had one of these but I raced against them with my RC10.

Jrx Pro used the longer jrxT chassis which has the hole in it for the steering servo. That looks like the conversion chassis as you have the 5 link stand offs still attached to it. Steering looks like original jrx2 arms. The gear cover is designed to use with lose hydra-drive. My guess on the xxx shocks are because original shocks leaked and the the collars would crack.

Love the video & I love vintage Losi's too! - head over to the RC10Talk forum for some great info & build threads on these old buggies! - The Performance upgrade kit came out before the JRX-Pro - both the supplied chassis included in the upgrade kit & early JRX-Ts too did not come with the servo saver slot. But the 'hot' red steering levers are correct for the JRX-Pro - as is the aerial tube mount, if this was a converted JRX2 I would have expected these items to be black - also for the motor plate to say 'JRX2' on it. Aside from the chassis plate it all looks like this started out in life as a JRX-Pro (rather than a converted JRX2) so the no-slot chassis is a bit of a mystery. P.S; I love that shell/paint scheme - I wonder where you get the metallic bronze paint suitable for Lexan?

Love your vids! Old school Losis were just awesome. So easy to drive. They had really great shocks for the time, due to that large diameter shock body and smooth cartridge. Also, that transmission was a weapon against early rc10s. When the stealth came in, it was a literal WAR on the tracks. I loved those times of rc. Thank you for keeping old school alive and for running on LOOSE LOAMY DIRT, the way the good Lord intended. The carpet and clay track domination of today's "offload" is so so lame!
@bigpapapump8418

Also, that trinity monster horsepower motor should have the wind stamped into the end of the can or endbell (depending on which manufacturer Ernie was buying from at the time). However, if it is really old (87-89) and it looks to be from the label, Trinity motors were marketed by an individual name, rather than a wind. They were all pretty secretive about motor winds when it came to the higher end stuff back then. Even when they started advertising winds, Trinity had names for their motors. For instance, in 1991-ish, I had a completely insane Trinity 10x3 that was marketed as "Hammer Time"! That thing was so belligerent that it would often strip spur gears if I didn't ease into the throttle coming out of corners. It was a tremendous time! 😂

@chrismckay3868
@chrismckay3868 3 года назад
Looks like a nice clean car. The RPM front arms will likely be the only set you ever need on it very durable, you may want to stock up on knuckles and uprights however and maybe front bulkheads. That front bulkhead appears to have been used on a molded chassis at one point as there is threads cut in the upper holes where someone likely had the chassis brace mounted. Steering bellcranks should be stock I couldn't tell if they had bearings but if they do they are still Losi just aftermarket. Chassis is a pre-jrxt chassis, the cutout that you don't have was for the larger heavy duty servo saver needed when they went to a ridged bellcrank without the built in servo saver. You still have 5 link mounts on the side so could 5 link it if you wanted heh. The "Team Losi performance" is a later motor plate . As others have said a Losi Hydradrive gear cover with an interesting slipper setup that is aftermarket. A Losi slipper for the LRM would require disassembly to remove the spur and not a 2 screw removal like the stealth. That battery retainer? It's been used, you can tell when the top arm is bent slightly into an upside down U, there never really is enough space in them. The oldest pieces of that are probably the 5 link side bulkheads :)

Sweet ride. Looks like it was a converted jrx2, the pro (at least my pro) didn’t come with the 5 link parts that you have for the side body mounts. Body was just mounted with the front and rear shock tower pin holes. Looks like you got a Robinson racing spur gear adapter, should let you use standard spurs I stead of having to find old Losi Spurs. I remember my pro having a jrx2 engraved motor mount, the team losi performance ones came out later. Steering rack looks accurate, the A&L ones were green. I’m pretty sure the JRX pro and the JRX T used the same chassis. They both had the cutout slots for the servo saver and had the same front end kick up, the JRX2 had a 25 degree kick while the pro and T had a 30 degree kick. I had those pure tech straps on all my cars, was a must have
@RCRetro
@RCRetro 3 года назад
Thanks. So the side body mounts were for the JRX-2? So there is a good indication that this was a converted Jrx-2 to a Pro then? thanks for letting me know about the Robinson racing adapter. I do have a bunch of Losi spurs the original owner included. nonetheless that is interesting about the gear adapter. As for the motor plate, I thought maybe it was from the PROformance kit upgrade since it didn't say Jrx-2 etched into it.
@mikeinthe951
@mikeinthe951 3 года назад
@@RCRetro the side body mounts were the 5 link suspension attachment points for the JRX2 and JRXT, it’s possible the owner added these but they weren’t really necessary to mount the body with the mounts that were on the front and rear shock towers. I don’t remember seeing the team losi performance motor plate until I got my JRX pro SE car. My JRX pro had the JRX2 engraved plate in the box. I know some of the early batch Junior two cars even had the JRX2 motor plate. It’s possible the original owner just replaced it at a later time.
@freewill51
@freewill51 3 года назад
@@RCRetro It was the conversion. (to me a more rare find) If I remember right, the pro had a bumper that screws on from the bottom like an RC-10. Yours has the bumper that goes between the front bulkhead and the chassis. Also no stock wheels from someone that kept everything would point to the conversion kit since it did not include wheels. You have an awesome car for sure.

Love it, can't go wrong with the vintage losi's. My Jrx Pro is an upgrade using a proformance kit and it doesn't have that hole in the chassis for the servo saver, so it's a good guess that it was a jrx2 originally then updated with the proformance kit. I have 3 jrx pro’s. One is my original from the early 90’s it’s my runner. The other 2 are SQ’s. As for the steering if it has bearings it’s probably an upgraded part. As for the chassis it’s a jrx2 you can tell cause the jrx2 is wider than the jrx pro chassis. And as you pointed out no servo hole. Also it has “ Losi team performance “ on the motor plate. Later on they switched that to say “jrx2”. The gear cover could be a remake for the jrx pro se because it had the hydra drive an needed the large bump out for the shaft. Wish I was able post pics.
