+no Then why do certain nations struggle so hard with it more than others if it is so easy? English is first and foremost a Germanic language at its most simple. We say many words similar as the Dutch, German and Scandinavian languages do, but with the influx of Latin words from French invasion of England almost 1000 years ago, you could actually now say English is a true Creole language. Plus we adopt so many Latin words into our vernacular for scientific and practical things all the time, often making new words from 2 or more Latin and Greek words. So it is MUCH easier for European speaking countries to speak our language, maybe with the exception of France, it was always the strange guttural Latin language out of the bunch, so speaking English always sounded weird coming from them. But, a few big nations like Japan, South Korea, and China struggle with English definitely, although I know far more Chinese that can read, write and speak English than the other 2 previously mentioned Asian nations. Maybe that is just due to population size, but maybe the percent is actually higher too?
