Fantastic. Watched both - instead of going to bed - on a work day - and it is now 1.00am (in the UK)! Brilliant pair of videos. Keept the updates coming. Thanks.
Again well done for keeping going with it. I know how it feels when you feel gutted having to ask for outside help, but sometimes a little bit of outside info can save you hours, if not days and £$£$£$. I thought my rebuild was finished, but now I found.. driver's window doesn't work.. battery is dead.. yet another oil leak and the air-con has now packed up. Mate I swear rebuilding it was the easy bit..🤬🤬
Ha yeah. At first I thought I should do the smoke test earlier but then while editing I realized how many little problems I solved along the way that will prevent future problems. So in the end, it worked out.
Update. They couldn’t fix it. Watch the new version here: E33b - The Shakedown - Part 2 - Fixed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WxG-xm34BQ0.html
I’ve got the same issue with rough idle and recently found a stripped stud holding the intake manifold on, just ordered a gasket from BMW and am going to give it a shot tomorrow, this video has given me the confidence to say for sure that is most likely the cause (After new coil pack and leads, injectors, spark plugs etc) Wish me luck! 🚗💨
@@RegardingAutomobiles Let’s just say I’m glad I found your channel! Fitted the new gasket yesterday and the idle is so much better and almost feels like it’s picked up a bit of power too! Had to pull the supercharger because I have the stock studs but wasn’t too bad, Thanks for all the content you’re uploading, helping a lot of people in the same boat as you.
Just a quick one. Spoke to an electrical mech engineer friend of mine who informs me these cars, when they have been disconnected for a period, need a period of relearning IE:fuel mixture, tick over, idling etc. So stick with it a few more trips and I'm informed things start to reset themselves and settle down while it relearns the driving settings.
Good stuff man, if it makes you feel better...when I recently got my r53 back on the road I found a small oil leak even though I changed every gasket and O ring possible, and as a bonus my AC seemed to have leaked out all the Freon lol? Anyhow...these cars always have something but run ok anyways!
@@RegardingAutomobiles haven't had a chance to look yet...it's closer to driver side , thinking oil pan either over tightened or not enough, or I f'd up putting in the rear main...I'll update you when I figure it out....
