E357: Let’s Crawl It! HPI Wayfinder: First Outing Is Promising , Does It Cost Too Much Though?

I decided to pull the plug on the Venture Wayfinder in the end and give it a go, plus I’ve not really had any HPI Racing cars on the channel before now. I thought this looked interesting and wanted to possibly compare it against my FTX Gladius and the New FTX Centaur in future videos. Hope you’ll join me in seeing how I get on with its first venture out 😉

Interesting with the steering link placed back. Loved the river run. What a beautiful spot and that's the pleasure of using a crawler. Nice review.

Thanks Damien , definitely much better approach angle with the steering bar behind the axle housing. It was a nice area and one I need to explore more of . Thanks for watching :)

Hi Pete, it’s funny as I very nearly wore my creepers but sensibly switched to Docs before leaving the house. I think because it’s an unlicensed body and not a real Truck it adds to the look of it not being quite scale , I though it looked like the new Land Cruiser from the front that’s due out . I really liked it :) Not that sold on the body design personally but the chassis was nice.

Yeah the body is a little weird looking but I don’t mind it it’s just a bit fugly. Chassis is nice and seems to perform well and has some nice touches , could have done with being updated a little compared to what’s out now

It is a very nice looking truck, but as you said there are better and cheaper options out there. Great video as always mate👍👍

Nice review on this Andy! I do like this as it has some things like the front steering link placed behind the front axle as you mentioned and the option for different weight distribution through battery placement feature, which is real cool! It’s a nice looking rig too! ❤ that spare tire swing gate as well. I’ve been planning on getting one new 1/10 crawler this year , and I’ve just recently been considering this hpi venture. It’s nice to see a fresh perspective on this model which seems to get overlooked. Thanks for sharing and A Happy Easter to you and yours! 🐣

Depending on what your budget it I’d wait to see what the FMS 1/10 Chevy k5 is like or the FTX Centaur both due out relatively soon. The hpi is cool though with some nice touches , just a little pricey and down on spec

cracking chassis . i had the original hpi venture fj cruiser . turned it into a rally raid truck in the end . 👍

@@andyrobinsonrc2480 nah sorry mate … sold it in the end because hpi discontinued it and spares were non existent. obviously not an issue hopefully now they have brought the chassis back. i’d definitely swop the body out but if i recall the wb is a bit odd. not the usual crawler wb.
