Here is a video after a 25 minute drive on the highway, at the first red light just off the ramp. Fluctuations in RPM's, and a vibration throughout the whole car (which is what the shaking camera is capturing, not my shaky hands) are the symptoms experienced.
This does NOT happen on cold starts, but only when the engine has warmed up. Taking off from the light, and driving normally again before or after this incident does not seem to have effected performance of the vehicle. To me it feels like it pulls just fine.
A month ago I threw the codes: P0420, P0430 (catalytic converter efficiency below threshold). I had erased the codes to see if they would come back, and the codes have not, but I am not ruling that out...I am not getting poor gas mileage or poor performance though...
I have also recently performed the crankshaft position sensor recall less then 2 months ago, and am wondering if this could still be causing the choking and rough idle. FYI the car has 58k miles, and the previous owner never did the recall.
So what do you guys think?
*Dirty Idle Control Valve?
*O2 sensor (related to those codes being thrown)?
*MAF Sensor?

If you see those codes and erase them the sensors should still be replaced. Whether or not the CEL is gone or not.

I had same problem it was a O2 sensor, a vacuum leak and a dirty icv.

Hello. Did you found the reason of issue ? It will help me a lot, because mine does the same. Thanks in advance :)

Hovhannes Hovsepyan my issue was due to clogged catalytic converter. Replacing it fixed my issue. I changed many things in the process with no luck except for this.

Thanks a lot for sharing this info. I'm struggling with this issue about 2 years. And never would think of clogged catalytic converter. I've replaced idle control valve, camshaft position sensor, throttle body, PCV and hoses without any success. Did you changed vanos seals in the process ?

I replaced those same things as well with no success... I did not change any vanos seals. I had disconnected the midpipe with catalytic converter to free flow of exhaust and noticed immediate improvement in idle. Replacing the convertor was the best solution for my situation as it was clogged with carbon buildup causing choking and misfiring.
