Learn the foundations of Eagle Yoga Pose with Adriene! This balancing posture can be challenging at first but offers a long lasting relationship of tending to yourself. Balance, twist, stretch, strengthen and stimulate! Boost focus, concentration and the lymphatic system! The eagle fixes his eye on one point with superior vision and focus. This yoga asana connects us back to the third eye chakra - which stimulates clear vision. We practice eagle pose, or Garudasana, to aide to check in with our concentration and fix our gaze upon one point. This pose requires that you keep tending to it.
As you balance and spin multiple plates (on one leg!) and twist and bend (metaphors galore!) you hold on to your drishti or your gaze and begin to settle in. That third eye chakra of sight and intuition begins to open. The more you tend to the pose - the more likely you are to calm the mind and the clearer your vision becomes. Go deeper! Namaste.

Hi! Yes, exactly. Now that we "got 'em down" we need an all encompassing go to video if you could. Also thank you so much, in 3 months you managed to completely alleviate my sciatica pain, I haven't felt this awakened head to toe in way too long. U R Awesome!

Adriene is so cute! I have difficulty doing the eagle pose well, because I have really broad shoulders and they are stiff as a boot! But it was worth it to see her sing a little and it cracks me up, when she talks about "wind relieving" pose! LOL She's a hoot! Been doing yoga with her since September, did ALL 30 days of yoga with her and I got my t-shirt today! Yay! Find What Feels Good! Love you Adriene!

Thank you Adriene. Always fun as usual. I do your videos in the morning and I wanted something that was low commitment for after work to unwind a little. These Foundations Of Yoga poses are perfect and I can even combine a few if I am feeling a bit more eager after just one.

Is it normal to get a cramp in my foot, the arch of my foot? This time I didn't push it. I stayed where it was comfy an focused on alignment an integrity as well as sensation. I'm loving this. 😊🎶

I was so waiting for this foudation video ! I was hoping for a magic trick to get my elbow pass each other, but, I guess I have to practice more :) I really enjoy this pose anyway, it won't be a chore. Thanks a lot.

Eagle pose is one of those challenging ones for me. Not about the balance, but for the leg twist, which some days come very easily and some days just not at all. I also find it a lot easier on my left side than my right side (I'm left-handed and wonder if that has something to do with it)? Thanks for the video!

Hi Adriene, I was wondering If you could put together a video of your most popular yoga foundation videos 45 minutes or so? Intermediate level..ish. I am 3 months into practice with your videos and love your style. You make it fun and you seem to understand us. Sometimes a pose(boat!) isn't very fun and you give us the ok for it to not be perfect! It keeps us coming back to you every time. Thank you.

I would love to hear more mantras to use in the poses!! I am trying to figure out how to incorporate meditation into my practice while I am still learning the poses and do the videos!! I don't have the flexibility I really need to do all the poses well and I'd like to tell my body to do that as well as learn to properly breathe. Am I doing something incorrectly when I end up breathing hard in some of the poses or yawning like a python when attempting to deepen my breathing? What a coincidence! I did Day 13- Ease and Endurance yesterday which featured the Eagle Pose. Is someone trying to tell me something about vision, concentration, and focus? I know, gotta work on it. Anyways, here is an "eagle" song --- Fly Like An Eagle by the Steve Miller Band.

okay so i tried this last night and my shoulder are killing me should i let them recover before continuing yoga plus first try but i do need this so much so i can walk a little better but i was having a hard time doing it

Adrine i like your videos but sometimes you overshare , and talk about the details way too much and again and again, it’s good to be silent and just let us be in the pose sometimes , you interrupt my focus sometimes.. but thank you for your good videos ❤

For this, follow your breath. That is the only rule. Just breathe. When you breathe in and out really doesn't matter at first. My body likes to inhale has I lift and lengthen sometimes and other times it likes to breathe in as I ground and press into the earth. Try some of my flow videos to practice more breath and body coordination! ooxoxo
