Sorry about your leg. Joe Walsh was my favorite with the Eagles. When he left he really stood out. He was known as the Clown Prince. I have an album of Joe Walsh you might know; YOU CAN TUNE A PIANO BUT YOU CAN'T TUNE A FISH. How can anybody not love this guy. I hope you saved his autograph. I hope your life is good. I barely get around with two legs.
@@0013pokijo The alternative is a permanent dirt nap, i'll take the getting older as well. I cannot imagine being 15 yrs old when you lost your leg. Why do we say "lost" it's not like you misplaced it. Sorry i wasn't making light of your situation. I wrote it and thought, taken literally it doesn't work.
@@eddiehaskell1957 just one of those silly attempts to soften reality. I was diagnosed with PTSD years later. The discovery of the tumor, and amputation happened so fast. I am however doing very well. Life is the ultimate roller coaster! Hands in the air and scream!
@@0013pokijo Oh MY GOD A TUMOR. I watch too much shark week! Seriously, you are strong women! PTSD is an horrible feeling. I assume you got through it ok. Was the tumor malignant? The hands in the air always scared the hell out of me, But I raced motorcycles every weekend, I don,'t race anymore , too many broken body parts. BUT i still ride all over America. Definately clears your mind. I ride on the old U.S. highways. Avoid Interstates as humanely possible. That's where America is.
Take it to the Limit stole the show that night, (it's still here on RU-vid) with Randy agreeing to do the song live one last time, even though he hated to do it live.
Russ Hartman I am an Eagles fan as well. I consider their signature song to be Take It to the Limit. Randy Meisner is an amazing singer and for him to hit those high notes at the end is incredible.
Lord how I miss the 70's!!!! The long hair. The music. The clothes. The "take it easy" attitude. Of course if you are going to react to the Eagles you have to do Hotel California.
Love hearing The Eagles live. I never got to see them live, though I always wanted to. This is one of their most iconic songs. Rest in peace, Glen Frey!
I attended the Eagles' concert at Texas A&M on November 4, 1972, even though I was only 8 years old. My brother Michael was a freshman at A&M and part of the entertainment committee that booked the Eagles. My parents said, "Let's go see this event that Michael is involved with organizing." Initially, I resisted, but had to go. Funny how things changed when Glenn Frey put on his sunglasses and they started playing "Take it Easy." I was like, "I know this song!" Meanwhile, my dad was saying, "It's too loud, we need to leave." Haha.
I been here since 1952, God this band was great and I mean great. They made life somush better to live. I got all their albums in my closet, bought em when they come out. God I loved my life and the life I lived. It was a wonderful life then. We had it made. All people loved good music. It crossed color. I'm white and partied with black people all the time. The love songs brought all races together. I wish it would happen again.
The Eagles were, IMO the greatest band to come out of the seventies and they never wrote a bad song! Their vocals added a whole new band to the mix much like the Moody Blues and Crosby Stills Nash and Young! They still have the all time record for all time sales of a greatest hits album that will probably never be surpassed!
I had the pleasure of seeing the Eagles, in Alpharetta, GA in 2008. Glenn Frey (pronounced Fry) was still alive. I took my mom and my daughter. They’re about my mom’s age, but their music transcends through time and age. Great reaction. My daughter, who was 20 at the time, said that was the best live band she’d seen, and I agreed.
Yes, India, yes, we were just at a Peter Frampton concert the other night, my childhood love and I said almost the same thing to my hubby, "It's like the guitar is another language, he's clearly speaking to us through it." I love when the musicians enjoy playing together and the music itself. I love the Eagles.
When i left my ex wife that song i played that help me get over her. 17 years later and she is in the same b.s. as she was when I took the kids and went on our own. Due to the drugs i dont think she'll ever get to the same conclusion. Sad...
In 1976 I had just got my drivers license and cruised everywhere with an eight track tape of the Eagles “ greatest hit “. Actually I think every car in America had an eight track tape of Eagles “greatest hits” in 1976. I would go back in a second (if my family was with me).
I was only 7 years old in 1976 , but I have The Eagles Greatest Hits CD now and love to play it in my car . This song , Doolin Dalton and One of These Nights are my favourites.
Most bands would be really good with "A" Glenn Frey, or "A" Don Henley, "A" Joe Walsh, etc. The Eagles had all of those guys and more in one incredible band. No wonder they're so beloved.
Just none better. Here we are 43 years later and it still screams awesome stage presence and musicianship beyond compare to any of today's so-called musicians. Period.
Same here, only 52 years ago when my parents dragged me to see the Event my brother helped organize at Texas A&M. Turned out to be the Eagles. I was only 8 but recognized Take it Easy from the radio. I still remember my amazement as Glen Frey put his shades on and introduced the song while the crowd went wild.
The same spell comes over her that came over all of us the first time we heard the Eagles. It's magical, it's musical, it's one of the best groups of all time having a great time and producing some of the most beautiful music of all time. We're so lucky we have RU-vid now to experience all this great music across all genres!
Unrelated to the brilliance of the Eagles, A little less conversation a little more action with Elvis and a video of dancers in boxes,! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zx1_6F-nCaw.html
"Hotel California" was their big hit. "Life in the Fast Lane" captures the coked-out decadence of 70s southern California. My favorite is "Take it to the Limit."
Desperado- what they'll play at my funeral. The Eagles are a fantastic band, one of the top 10 of the 70's and a great live band. So much talent in one group! So lucky to have seen them live so many times.
I love this song, one of my favorites from them.... when Glenn Frey died, his son Deacon stepped in and looks like him so much (this 70's version of Glenn including sunglasses on his head).
That may have been from their March 21, 1977 show at the Capital Center in Landover, MD USA. The fans were loving it, having the kind of blast you just can't get with dynamite.
Can't believe it's been over 50 years ago since this Eagles classic was released! The golden era of music. If you agree, smash the I❤The Eagles button below: 👇👇
One of the few bands that are better live than recorded (and they are already great recorded). It is almost impossible for modern groups to get that perfect harmony without auto tuning.
One of my all time favorite bands. So much talent in this band. So many hits! Then, went on to have very successful solo careers in the 80’s and 90’s. Miss then so.
There are several songs from this '77 show that are outstanding and examples of how good this band was at their peak both singing and instrumentally. No auto-tune. The twin lead guitars of Don Felder and Joe Walsh were outstanding.
One of my top 5 greatest bands of all times. YOU MUST check out Hotel California Live from same concert. This has sold millions and millions of records! One of the most beloved bands of all times!
Yes more Eagles please, "wasted time" is one of the most beautiful songs ever imo. So much talent in this band, every member sings lead on different songs. RIP Glenn Frey.
A great moment in my life? Floor seats at the old Cleveland Brown's Municipal stadium for their Hell Freezes Over Tour. They still sounded the same - and that concert was over 25 years later. These goes wrote, played and sung all their own songs. Amazing!
I remember when this came out in the summer of 72. I was staying up in Boston with relatives and this song was played just about every half hour. When I went back to Ohio 2 weeks later oh, I was suffering from withdrawals because it wasn't being played in the Midwest. Finally I called up our local radio station and requested it only to be told they never heard of the song or a group called The Eagles. I remember laughing and saying "Oh, you will"...
This was their debut single from their debut album titled simply "Eagles". Despite being a West coast rock band with a quintessential West coast rock sound their debut album album was actually recorded at Olympic studios in London, in the middle of winter (February), 1972.
All my road trips have bunch of Eagles in the playlist. Them and Tom Petty will fill the drive with plenty of songs to sing along with and make the miles fly by!
They have such a catalog! 7 bridges, Hotel California, Desperado. Just scratching the surface! The musicianship, the harmonizations! A group to explore, reactions or not!
The Eagles were HUGE in the 1970s! Their "Greatest Hits: 1971-1975" album is the best-selling album of all time in the U.S., with 38 million units. It went back and forth between the Eagles and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" as the No. 1 seller in the U.S., with Michael regaining No. 1 after his death in 2009 sent sales spiking. But in 2018, the Eagles regained the top spot again.
1977, Still a Senior in High School. over 40 yrs ago. seemed like yesterday. blink twice and it's gone. Music makes us all time travelers in our minds.
This song is just one of their best songs. The Eagles had many great songs through their music career. I grew up listing to the Eagles. My mom and dad had many of their records. Damn, I'm showing my age. I remember records, hehe, I even remember 8-Track tapes. My dad had a few Eagles on 8-Tracks to listen to in his car.
The Eagles were one of the most talented and outstanding bands of their time. They did many truly amazing songs but among the best is The Last Resort. The lyrics are beautiful and poetic, and overflowing with meaning. You've got to hear this gorgeous song, I guarantee you'll love it.
Yes, one of my favorite bands. Glenn you are dearly missed. What a song, Glenn and Jackson song writing brilliance at its best. And yes, Joe sure knew how to have a good time back in the day. But he is sober now. Bless his heart.
Jackson Browne wrote it and gave it to the Eagles to record. They were friends (both LA bands) The Eagles made a hit of it; then Jackson put it on his first album. On that album was a song "Jamaica Say You Will" which was before Reggae music hit America. Most folks did not know where Jamaica was, or even that there was an Island Nation called Jamaica. I named my second daughter Jamaica (born in 1980)
Growing up as an Eagles fan, when I learned the guitar I learned a LOT of Eagles. One of my girlfriends told me "If listening to the Eagles doesn't make you want to learn guitar, I don't know what will." Wise words.
The guy with the red bandana is the great Joe Walsh. He had two highly successful rock and roll careers before joining the Esgles. Lead guitarist and lead singer for The James Gang (check out Funk #49 and Walk Away) and a successful solo career.
Yes, the EAGLES (Joe Walsh in particular) knew how to have a good time. He was notorious for trashing hotel rooms. People either love or hate the Eagles. I love 'em. Soundtrack of my youth. Listen to them warm up with harmonies with seven bridges road.
India, you are my favorite. There are 6 people on this stage who went on to have successful solo careers. You can get lost in an Eagles worm hole for hours!! Love u
The Eagles IMO is one of the best bands in the world. They have amazing harmonies. New Kid in Town is one of their best songs where their harmonies are amazing. Plus everybody in the band sings. Not just one person, but most of their hits are sung by Glenn Frey (the lead singer on this song) and Don Henley (the drummer). They sing majority of their hits, but the other band members have had their songs become singles and hits. Their biggest hit is Hotel California. You should see that video. The drummer sings lead on that song and the dueling guitars at the end are amazing. You should listen to the whole Hotel California album. Its the third best selling album in the world behind. The Eagles Greatest Hits Volume 1 album and Thriller.
I firmly agree but I personally value their earlier more because of its country music vibe and story lines. Hearing music from that era is like seeing an old friend.
Put them in the file under Super Group... What a group of gifted musicians.... They wrote and inspired some of the very best. Thank you for taking the time to expand your horizons.. pronounced Glen Fry..
Remember playing this in my Pontiac Tempest convertible in 1977 in Biloxi, Mississippi when I was in the Air Force. I saw the most beautiful girl on the side of the road and pulled over. In 2019 she's still my wife and dream girl and we both still love the Eagles.
You cannot go wrong with just about any song they have ever done. Fabulous group, perfect instrumentation and great voices. Don Henley, the drummer here, was also a great vocalist and soloed some fine songs.
Definitely one of the most talented bands ever. All of the members of this band are top rate players. I was lucky enough to see them in their "Hell Freezes Over" concert tour back in the 90s.
