If you do have to use ear plugs there are ones I do recommend and, more importantly, ones I do NOT recommend. Let's find out which is which.
Comment below if you use and like any other types of earplugs
*this is not a sponsored video, I just like their stuff.

Moldable wax literally says NOT to take out pieces from the ball, but to use all the ball. They are the best, cheap and affordable, and does not get stuck.

You're right! In adults with larger ear canals this is likely the case. BUT in little kids, with smaller canals there is a much higher change of it being placed too far in the canal and coming apart. This requires us to papoose the child (hold them down) and remove it. It is traumatic for everyone. This has been my experience unfortunately and that of several other ENTs and one of the reasons why it is no longer recommended by the American Academy of Otolaryngology.

@Astrid-jx5dw Месяц назад
I use moldable ones because I have smaller ear canals. They just covers the outer part of the ear canals and should not be inserted into it. Dividing into smaller pieces like you did is the wrong way to use and it’s not in the correct direction in the first place. When you follow the instructions they are safe yet effective aren’t they? Why do you teach the wrong way and ban them? While I could afford to see a doctor and get my ear plugs custom fitted I don’t think it’s practical or affordable for many people who don’t have a good insurance in this country. Just seeing you cost hundreds of dollars.

Nah, the ones you squeeze and then they inflate in your ear are best. 50 pair for $10

Speaking as a certified SCUBA divemaster - It's not safe to wear earplugs while deep sea diving! The increased pressure as you descend will compress any closed air spaces - including the air between your eardrum and the ear plug. That is VERY LIKELY to rupture your eardrum, unless the seal on the ear plugs breaks first.

The wax ones literally do not get stuck. You don't try to pull them out,you pop them out by pushing behind your ear. They are fantastic.

Do you mean people with autism?
@clairerobinson8166
@clairerobinson8166 9 месяцев назад
@@SuperiorRecaps about 20% of people have a heightened awareness of the stimuli around them, good or bad, they also have high levels of empathy and can be creative. It’s been hypothesized that in hunter-gatherer times, sensitive community members may have actually helped the group survive generation after generation by being aware of important details like which were the safe berries to eat. The trait of High Sensitivity is one that is deeply needed in our world. In a fast-paced, often non-empathetic world where aggressive, quick-decision-making is valued, HSPs can remind us that slowing down, compassionately considering other’s points of view and taking time to come to an intuitive and informed decision is also important.

@clairerobinson8166 And a lot of high masking "high functioning" autistic die undiagnosed, because of the overlap with an extremely broad list of disorders in the DSM-5 even people with Autism have been misdiagnosed as narcissistic.
@maylin1986
@maylin1986 8 месяцев назад
@@SuperiorRecapsI didn't know this, about some Autistic people being misdiagnosed as narcissists. * 0 * I've read a comment in the past, by someone who claimed to be Autistic and that they can seem egotistical at times, but that's a trait part of their Autism. They do what they can to catch themselves in the moment to not sound prude. So then, just because one trait can be similar in nature, doesn't mean they are a narcissist? Traits or similarities can overlap in terms of compatible comparisons. But not in terms of exact similarities to qualify one over the other? Just because both disorders could exist, doesn't mean they're both there, unless one group of traits outweighs the other? Sorry so long. I'm 37yrs old and found out 2-3yrs ago that I'm pretty sure I'm on the spectrum. Last I looked, a guy at a college open house event, sat up a table pertaining to the disabled, the abilities to pursue college. I asked him how to get tested and he said it would cost $200. I would, but the bills. :(
@SuperiorRecaps
@SuperiorRecaps 8 месяцев назад
@maylin1986 Yeah it's expensive, the key difference is that Narcissists often do something with the aim to self serve. For example they can love bomb to manipulate someone, and they withdraw that affection in order to create dependency with their target, and on the contrary people with autism (some as it's a spectrum) struggle with demonstrating "appropriate" ways showing affection they might struggle with building intimacy and might jump in to quickly or love too intense too early but the crucial point is the purpose they do this because this is how some show affection they don't have an intention to manipulate. The behaviors might sometimes come across as Narcissistic but the main difference is always the INTENTION behind the behavior. And sometimes (especially with special interests) autistic can come across as arrogant or egotistical this is not the case they are just extremely passionate about their special inrrest and when someone who is a novice in the area expresses an opinion that is false the urge to correct that can be very strong from the autistic person and often some are good at masking that frustration but others don't do so well at holding those urges and often feel the need to correct or use the word ACTUALLY 😅 ....etc. obviously this does not apply to all people with autism but this is an often overlooked aspect and mental health practioners often faul prey to reaching conclusions based on the profession the patient is in for example I am in the legal profession and law is my special interest and stereotypes about lawyers being Narcissists are very unhelpful especially if you take into consideration that autistic people have a very "abnormally " strong sense of justice. Sorry for the long response. In person I talk way too much 🤣🤣😂 I hope my sharing can help with your lived experience 🙏.

i had to wear custom molded ear plugs to swim in 4 feet of water starting in the late 70s. i started scuba diving in the early 90s and could not equalize the pressure with the plugs in. so i started diving without them. no issues. and i go down to 200 feet deep at my max. you have to go down and come up SLOW while clearing the pressure often if your are like me
