I’m 37 weeks +4 days and have had inconsistent contractions for the past week! Things are slowly starting to progress and get more intense. Went into the hospital yesterday for water break scare (water didn’t break) and found out I’m 60% effaced and not dilated at all! Hoping baby comes soon because contractions all day can be annoying!! Lol We got this mommas!!! #2023babies
Hey! I'm 37+5 today. I lost my mucus plug yesterday morning after some bad cramping. Been having inconsistent contractions and very intense Braxton Hicks ever since. I don't know how dilated/effaced I am but I'm ready to get the ball rolling! I'm gonna try for an unmedicated VBAC this time. All prayers and well wishes are welcomed! Sending mine your way. 🤗
@@crystalglopez91623 I ended up giving birth at 41+5 🥴 I went to the hospital bc I was ready to get the baby out no matter what! 😂 Turns out I was already 5cm dilated and my water had broken but I didn't feel it happen. I got to 7 cm without meds until I could feel my C-section scar with each contraction, which was often and long by that point. So I got an epidural right around 8cm and I'm so glad I did. The C-section scar pain was the absolute worst, I wasn't mentally prepared for that. I ended up having baby girl a few hours later. They took her to the NICU for observation bc we didn't know how long she went without amniotic fluid, but thank God she was just fine and we were able to bring her home after a few days. She turns 1 next week 😍 thanks for asking!
I’m due December 24 and I’m super nervous about giving birth ( first time mom ) it’s good to see a lot of other moms giving birth around the same time ! We will be strong 💪🏽 together ❤️
I just want to say thank you for gently and kindly explaining things like the mucus plug. I always feel silly, like shouldn’t I know these things already; like, my friend recently gave birth and was telling her birth story to me and a couple other ladies and EVERYONE but me understand all the terms, whereas I was secretly making a note in my head to google stuff later. But when you started just lovingly explaining what it was and didn’t assume everyone knows - dang that hit me hard and I was SO relieved. Thank you so much for being so thoughtful and explaining everything so kindly.
Hi Samantha, Bridget is great isn't she? By the way most women won't know about things like the mucus plug. When I was pregnant, I barely knew anything. The good thing is, you are watching these videos and educating yourself. What month are you expecting your baby? xxx
My mucus plugs (3 births) were always very thick in consistency and opaque, usually with blood streaks. They never looked like egg whites for me, so I thought I’d throw that out there for other expecting moms to know! Thank you for your informative and encouraging videos!
Mine were always thicker and opaque as well, but usually streaked with blood which is what got my attention. Discharge is so common through most of pregnancy that if it weren’t for the amount and bloody streaks I wouldn’t have thought anything of it 😂
I'm not pregnant or anywhere near that phase of my life.... But labor used to intimidate me but the more I learn about it in advance the less worried I feel about it whenever I do have that stage of life xo ty for sharing 🤗🤗
Im 28 weeks so i still have a ways to go. This is my second pregnancy. But struggled to get pregnant with the second. So i feel like im a kinda a new mom all over again. 6 years later and i finally got pregnant so i feel like i forgot everything i learned the first time around. So this is such a good refresher. Information is key so thank you!
Hi, I'm a FTM, and I'm 40 weeks +1 day. I lost my mucous plug this morning! Haven't had contractions yet, so trying to stay calm and not freak out 🤩 Thank you so much for these videos, Bridget!

My husband overheard this video and when you said "losing your Mucus plug means that birth is imminent". My husband said "well so does being pregnant. You gotta give birth at some point." 😂😂😂 so funny
I’m 35+6 and just lost some mucus plug today. Came right after a little light cramping, with a light pink tinge. My cervix is open and I’m dilated 1cm. First baby and I have a strong feeling he’ll be here a couple of weeks before his due date. The anxiety and nervousness is real…😅 What’s also real is lightning crotch. 🙈
I’m due in a week! I absolutely looove pregnancy, makes me feel like she enjoys it to so she’ll want to stick around longer lol, I want to meet her so bad and I think I’m ready to now as much as I’d love her to stay 💕
38 weeks. I just lost my mucus plug. BTW, mine looked like yellow snot, but way thicker... Not egg whites. Praying for a healthy baby for all the pregnant ladies on here!!!!
My first was born 5.5 years ago so I feel like I need a refresher! Plus I was induced a little early for that one, so I’m not really sure how natural early labor feels. So happy to have these videos to learn from💜only 6 weeks left🙌🏻
I know your comment is older but same! My oldest will be 6 in a couple months, I am 38 weeks pregnant and have been dilated at a 3 for almost a week now.. I’m so anxious. My oldest cane very different at a month early, water broke before contractions or dilation and I had to have pitocin. This time waiting naturally I am like WHAT IS MY BODY DOING?!
Same situation as me! Did you wind up going into labour soon after? I had a lot of really uncomfortable pains and pressure in my pelvis last night, then this morning I had bloody mucus! A little bit of achiness in my lower back once in awhile, but not a whole lot is going on yet. Due tomorrow lol
Your voice is so calming I feel like if someone else was telling me about this stuff I'd freak out but you just make it all seem like it's gonna be okay
when I was 37 weeks and 5 days I thought I am going to be in labor soon since I lost my mucus plug. But I'm wrong LOL now, at 39 weeks with 1-2cm dilation, I usually feel inconsistent contractions but not a real labor 😅 thanks for this video momma
I am 30 weeks pregnant but Im already getting signs. I thought I was losing my mucus plug a couple months ago but I believe it was just clear sticky discharge. But today I started having pieces of yellow thick stuff coming out but not a whole lot. She's already weighing in about 5 ibs. And I feel like I will be having her soon. This is my 3rd baby, 5th pregnancy. And my instincts just say it's soon.
I appreciate your video so much. Im 37 weeks with my second baby and your informative video just refreshed my memory and helped me mentally prepare myself for what I’m in for. Thank you ❤️🙏🏾
Hello from malaysia. I really like all your video. Ur explanation so clear, i can understand it clearly. My due date will be 2weeks more 😬 pray for me 😁❤️
Thank you. Thank you. You have correctly described what I'm going through. 39 weeks & 6 days. C-section scheduled in 2 days if I don't progress. I really want to have a VBAC. Membrane sweep done 3 days ago & it's been a rollercoaster since. Contractions driving me crazy but they don't progress. Lost mucus plug yesterday & got very frequent contractions afterwards, but once again subsided. Losing my mind....but gotta keep patient. Trying to walk as much as I can.
I’m 35 weeks pregnant and noticed last night I’ve had clear thick stretchy mucus but it wasn’t a whole lot...this is my third baby.. with this baby I’ve had nothing but menstral cramps
I usually lose my mucas plug first and go into labor anywhere between 6-10 hours later. I’ve experienced seeing the whole thing at one time and also only a small amount. Enough to know when to call my midwife to let her know. I’m overdue right now with my 4th baby and still waiting for it!
40 weeks + 4 days and just lost my plug. Opaque kind of cream color, gelatinous, and old blood streaks. No contractions... maybe little braxtons that are not even uncomfortable. Zero pain atm... 3 cm dilated and 60-70% effaced (had my exam this morning at 9 am, it is now 11 pm). First baby
Thank yooooou so MUCH! Muchas gracias, for sharing all this information. Not everyone has the money to get a birthcourse, and this is very helpful to provide calming for birth. I had watched more than 10 videos, and 4 days to go for our home birth, first time mama! Wujuuu so exciting!!!!
I'm due next week! I can not wait. I'm so over pregnancy! I was 2cm last week. I have a Dr appointment tomorrow so I'm looking forward to seeing if I dilated anymore.
I’ve had 2 c sections and now I’m 34 weeks pregnant and want to have a natural birth this time. I’ve never experienced losing the mucus plug or anything like that. I don’t have a doula or midwife 😔 just my obgyn and she is ready to go for a 3rd C-section. I’m watching videos and reading everything I can so I can at least try TOLAC 🙌🏻🙏🏻 I’m praying to have a vaginal birth!
Thank you for all the information and positivity you give in your videos, I’m 38 weeks and my midwife has been a pen pusher with a cold and condescending attitude. Thank you again ❤️
Mines shed a week prior to delivery. I was freaking out cause it was my first pregnancy. I immediately went in to see my obgyn and was ready to be admitted in my mind but he checked me and said that I was good to go and to remain on bed rest and he explained to me that it was actually the mucus plug had shed. I was so annoyed but when it was actually that time I panicked even more 😆😆😆😆 For that next week I was experiencing contractions in my lower back the entire time.
Plz keep in mind that every pregnancy is different. Mine did not go thos way as my contractions ce so fast and way earlier than they were supposed to. The doc told me to just relax and take a bath.... Smh! I was already going into labor and almost hady baby at home had I listened to the doc! Listen to your body.
Labor can go on for WEEKS! AND WEEKS! The more babies you have, the more likely you will be contracting for weeks on end. And still you will come to your due date. The best thing to do is IGNORE them all. If it is true labor at some point it will HIT YOU. Otherwise it drives you crazy.
40 weeks tomorrow baby no.3 and so confused! You’d think it would be similar each birthing journey but not one bit! I had prodromal labor this time around and have had an annoying achy tummy/back for 2 days straight. Hoping I can have my baby tomorrow ( due date )
First birth I was 39 weeks 2 days and I other than fatigue and nausea which blended with preexisting pregnancy symptoms I had no warning. I woke up one morning and my water broke as I sat up. No blood, just thick clear/yellow/white goop. This time, I just hit my due date today and woke up to pee and had a thick gooey white/clear trail hanging from me! I Hope today is today!
I’m currently 35 weeks and I’ve been loosing my mucus plug for about a bit over a month now. I usually see it when I white. Sometimes it’s clear, sometimes it’s whiteish. Just waitiiiiing
congratulations honey! How is your pregnancy going so far? Did you get morning sickness in the first trimester? Do you know if you are having a boy or girl? Love, Anja xxx
Lost my mucus plug at 34 weeks. Have been having prodromal labor since then (now at 36 weeks). Contractions throughout the day and 1-2 hours of time-able contractions that are less than 5 minutes apart every night. Last scan showed baby in ROP; doing everything I can to get baby in a better position. Can’t imagine another 4 weeks of this.
I’m 37+2. Last night I had light cramping and then this morning some more yolky opaque discharge and wasn’t sure what it was. I hate this mental game of “Should I grab the hospital bag or not??”
I had the same issue and they monitored me and it was nothing I guess? I'm so confused because I have every symptom of early labor just not actual labor? Which is good because I'm only 30 weeks but still I am so lost lol
Inducing me in 3 days :( losing mucus plug just two days ago. Got membrane sweep and lost plug little by little but no real contractions. I want to refuse induction but they don’t want me to give birth at 40weeks… first time mom. I hate everything done unnatural. Idk what to do. Just have constant lower back pain for weeks. I had prodomal labor 1-2 weeks ago, diarrhea vomiting then all the sudden I got better . I just have back pain which I always had . Baby has been engaged for a month already .
39weeks+5 days in and this baby decided to get all cozy and lazy floating around instead of engaging in the uterus!Tried dates, walking, exercise,Miles circuit but nothing! No mucus plug,no period like cramps,no belly drop, just pelvis pain, lightning crotch and discomfort. Istg no one prepares you for the anxiety these last days give you😫
Can someone tell me how do contractions feel like? I am so confused! I have been having mild cramping on and off since 4 days now, starting my 40th week tomorrow
36 weeks and still haven’t lost my mucus plug. With my other 2 I lost it on the first day of 37 weeks. But they were both one week late. Mine looked like literal phlegm and snot lol about a palm sized amount. I do have soft stools, crazy Braxton Hicks so I’m impatiently waiting for baby 👶🏻
I don't know if this is a silly question or not, but since the mucus plug prevents bacteria from getting to the baby why isn't there a time frame for when OB's want to see a woman give birth by after losing the mucus plug but there is after the water breaking?
The plug can regenerate and does if labor does not begin. Amniotic fluid can also regenerate and does. If your bag has a large break, then you should deliver within 3 to 5 days, provided no fever or sign of infection.
Ive been having random pelvic pain that'll change the way i walk and will often have me bent over but it only lasts a few seconds.....is this early labor
Way to late now, but for anyone else that reads this it sounds like lightning Crotch here. Baby usually triggering a nerve as she presses downward or is pressing on the cervix.
My doctor said I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced yesterday but since then I started having inconsistent contractions all night and my mucus increased a lot. Is it just cause she checked my cervix you think? I’m 37 and 6 today.
About a week ago, I had a discharge that seemed to be my mucus plug, again it seems like I lost more. My questions is how much of the plug comes out? Can it come out completely in more than one time? I’m not sure if that makes sense 🙈
