Is the USA the cheapest or the most expensive country we've traveled in? How did we spend our early retirement budget traveling in the USA?

Nicely done you two. I loved that you experienced so much in Seattle on a low budget. It's possible it just takes a bit of knowledge and planning (well I guess you can low budget travel the entire US with knowledge and planning - you proved it!). And, so glad we could be part of your time in the USA. So fun! When you come back next summer will you be in Seattle area?

We switch to the USAA non-0wner policy when we put our car in storage. And we reactivate when we get back to our car!

Hi Chris & Steve! Great videos and we also love your book! We've been pretty much full-time nomads since April, 2019, traveling around the US and Canada in a minivan filled with WAY too much stuff. Our housing was a combination of pet sits, timeshares and hotels. We are now down to 2 carry on bags each! We made it to Europe in May, 2023, and are now in the UK. We're looking for a possible new home outside the US and hoping to pick and share ideas for our nomadic ventures. Right now we're making our plans for next year and maybe beyond. Question: any tips on planning? How far out do you do it? Thanks in advance!

good job on downsizing and thanks for being such a fan! Planning. It's endless, isn't it? We try to keep it to just one day a week and dedicate the entire day, usually Tuesday. We go through spurts and stops because it never seems like we can get it all done in one day. But we track our spreadsheet, highlighting holes in red and coming back to the holes on Tuesday. Hope this helps and hope to meet!

Did you say $24 for your non-owner insurance?! I am paying GEICO about $350; guess I need to do some leg work and investigate other options

Very interesting - really enjoy your videos and transparency. Do you worry about the environmental impact of all that flying? At least one of you doesn't eat meat, so that helps I guess.
@EatWalkLearn

yes, we think about our carbon footprint all the time. it's one of the reasons we carry-on to keep our overall weight as light as possible.

I’m certain your waste and emissions from not owning a home or vehicles is MUCH less too! Home ownership costs the environment a lot!

Yes, good point. Flying economy with carry-on only does save fuel compared to other ways of flying

So I assume you just reapplied for a new overseas medical plan before you got on the cruise out of LA? Which company do you use for overseas coverage without US coverage?
@EatWalkLearn

since we'll carry ACA next year and we're only gone for six months this time, we picked up travel insurance with medical from GeoBlue.
