With the ever evolving railway, Earnest's express trains start to get longer. With this, his limits are put to the test. Thumbnail art by GencyFan23 x.com/TheGoodSoldier2 My Twitter: x.com/NarrowGauge7
4-4-0 were most common back at their time and had a balance of traction, power, and reasonable speed. As time went on more powerful engines came and the 4-4-0 were used less and less resulting the majority of them scrapped (not all). Earnest, being a Single has served his time and the trains get heavier over time so his traction and pulling power could even barely pull those express trains.
@@JayTheFox99 I was referring to the James The Utility Engine story by The Buried Truck. Gordon could handle an extra set, but it became too heavy for James.
Oh no. Looks like Earnest is not having a good time with the coaches. I understand it can be hard to do something you think you can, but won't admit you're struggling. But if he doesn't stop to think first, I have a feeling he could land himself in trouble.
I bet the engine who replaced him was either Taylor or Joseph from Fan of Hiro's videos because they are both 4-4-0s. I bet Earnest will turn evil in the next story. But eventually many 4-4-0s probably got demoted to freight trains and shunting because 4-6-0s and 4-4-2s started getting built
