There is a text-based game that takes place in between CT and CC. It supposedly covers any holes in the plot that may have occurred during CT.

I remember looking for Schala for weeks back in the days when the internet was non-existent, and a rumor in a game magazine could send you on a wild goose chase.

I feel like Gyiyg from the first mother game wanted to have friends but the characters denied that therefore the singing causes his mind to go insane thus ending up like what he was in Mother 2

The GLaDOS part was quite interesting to me. To see her as the vision that artist had is truly unique. In my opinion, it puts a bit of mystery and horror to her. :)

Possibly, but I doubt it, as "mother" is the theme, here, and we're trying to erase her from existence.

General Leo is a badass with the Master Scroll, and his Shock Ability is AWESOME. Celes should have learned it instead of garbo Runic.

with general leo, you got him, and all through the game, he seemed like he would be a char (well, a possible party member), then you get control of him, and he's awesome, and.......you kill him. as a kid, i wanted general leo. with aeris, she's one of my fav chars in gaming/ff (rydia, sabin, aeris, rikku, etc) and i hated how she died. when i play through ff7 now, i make sure to get her ultimate weapon/limit before it happens, as she deserves it.

I thought Crono Trigger was really well done, so when I looked at Crono Cross, boy was I disappointed! There's a point in the story where you find out that basically everything you did in Crono Trigger was for absolutely nothing. Guardia was overthrown by the nation of Porre (who had no army to speak of in CT) at the end of the DS version. Who came to aid Porre in this surprised me even more! The Masamune/Grandleon ends up becoming corrupted and disappears because of this.

If you play the game, you go to the place where Giygas should be, to find he isn't there, realizing he has been in the past the whole time, you time travel. It wasn't that Giygas was too strong.

Nice to see another vid from you. I think your analysis of Earthbound 2 villain 'Gygas' (or whatever) as an out of control primal infant is the most plausible by far. Also, I found GLADYS' appearance somewhat suggestively fetal. The two have nothing to do with each other, obviously. But it is interesting.

Too bad there was no mention of a resurectee I wanted but then again he only showed up on European shores in Anthalogies. I am talking about Final Fantasy 5s Galuf who went down to Exdeath fighting for his life.

The Chrono Trigger Line its actually refering to Lucca Mother "Lara" Hidden Sidequest, in wich you can save her from being disabled. If i remember correctly if you save her she appears dancing at the end. However i think the game didnt clear that message after completing the quest, creating the confusion. This was confirmed by magazine a long long time ago. And it actually make sense, she is the only person close to a party member who needs helps. Sorry for the bad english =)

I do enjoy that ff6 and final fantasy 6 are different games listed for the music.

It's not exactly misinformation, he believed that's what it was when he saw it. He also admits he was just a dumb little at the time, so of course he misinterpreted what he saw. The clarification that he was wrong about the events on screen is what is often forgotten about- but even though he is wrong, it's that incorrect perception that impacted him and serves as the inspiration of Gygas's incomprehensible form.

Overall, if a item is left in the game, an area seems out of place, some thing looks like it would have a use, or a popular character dies, someone's gonna over analyse.

I've heard the fetus argument before but was never shown the shape so clearly; it made a lot of sense then, and even more now. So the game was inspired by a film scene the author thought was a rape? Most rapes end in abortion. Giygas was so evil, he had to be destroyed before he was born. I think of the universe as a fetus (cellular biology and cosmology have too much in common,) and if "Mother" were host to Giygas, she would want to go back in time too.

I'd like to clarify that in Chrono Trigger, one of the side quests involves a short-time hop to save Lucca's mother from being mangled by one of her husband's machines that got activated by mistake. Has nobody figured out that this is most likely "one of you is close to someone who needs help"? Doing the side quest actually changes Lara's future and enables her to walk.

No it was Cave's assistant Caroline that got her mind mapped onto a robot, therefore creating GLaDOS.

I think that teh whole GLaDOS thing comes from the second game in the series, because , the way I understood it, Cave johnsons assistants brain was fused with the robot. I am not sure about that though

There is actually a way to get General Leo in your party. Pretty funny stretch of glitches, but it is possible.

When I played Earthbound back when it came out I never once thought Giygas' form was fetal-like. After all the speculation, however you can see a fetal outline. You can see just about any outline in that mess. The mystery makes it creeper and that much better IMO! Also I've been trying to bring Aeris back to life for 15 years ;(

I never played Chrono Cross. But i remember, in the Chrono Trigger DS port, there was a Bonus Ending that would lead up to Chrono Cross, with Magus and that girl. Long story shoft, after fighting her, she sends Magus to a different world and Chrono and the team back to their times. There needs to be more ports that have these kinds of extras, especially if the ports have a squeal.

It is a metaphor, but not for abortion. The entire game is a coming-of-age story. It's kind of hard to explain, but Giygas represents the point in your life where you lose the way you looked at the world as a child. The point where you really become aware of the bad in the world like murder, rape, violence, etc.

So does the door to tabuu's lair in Brawl, but that doesn't mean he's a fetus

Gametrailers' Pop Fiction did episodes on both General Leo and Aeris that settled both rumors. As usual, they were exceptionally thorough. (Spoiler: there are bugs to get Leo into your party without Game Genie type hacking, and there's no way to get Aeris back.) Also, I would differentiate between "over-analyzing" and "analyzing poorly." Most things you talked about in the video are crackpot fan theories, which I would call poor analysis. "Over-analyzing" has an anti-intellectual ring to it.

Glados's artificial intelligence isn't artificial at all it's actually the stored consciousness of the former head of Aperture's assistant. If you don't believe me it's on the Lore in a minute channel.
