I am so close to being done with pouring concrete! We have 2 more pours in the middle of winter. I explain the engineering behind the building a concrete deck that is balanced on 1 post.

Beautiful job as always! I designed and build my own home in the 1980"s and then hand built and 45x13 foot pool with 8ft deep and 4ft shallow end. I designed a system to treat the water that seldom needed any bleach treatment by using a Ozone injection system. It could produce over 10 times the output of any other product then built for installing on and inground pool and didnt cost that much to build. I should have started to produce it but other personal problems came up thata kept me from doing that. It was nice to have the clean water with no eye problems.

I am so interested to see the entire concrete structure bare with all of the formwork removed. I know you have a full understanding in your mind of the what's and why's and their interaction with each other...but the brief time we have with these videos isn't enough for me. Please, Mike, deep dive (oops, pun slipped out) of the whole concrete shebang before it's all buried in house!

love the concept of "always moving forward" be it your pool, your business, etc. i feel like if i stopped pursuing and learning and growing i would die. it is that critical to my personality to be better / smarter than i was yesterday. keep going man. I bet at least half your audience is self employed like minded creators / builders. your videos are master classes to "that next level" weather its mechanical engineering or construction, and even better when its a mixture of the two.

For freezing temperatures, You are more than right... I also have at home few of those thermometers (also can use those for cooking meet!). They are cheap, and pretty usable... (There are today some chemical products, that should prevent freezing of the concrete, but doesn't work as they should - by my experience) ... keep it warm during freezing temperatures... One side casing is hardest to do, without opening itself... double side, You need to anchor, as You did, mostly at the bottom, and easier on top (logical)...but there is always a risk... pour concrete in layers, wait a little bit to start hardening, and proceed, just enough to attach one layer for another, but don't exaggerate...also, don't go too fast at one spot, go around slowly... follow Your senses, and guard it carefully always...there is not going back... don't rush! If casing start to crack, or loose itself, reinforce it (have plan "B" in advance - even plan "C" )... :) Regards from Serbia

I've got 40 + years of construction experience, and am a certified crane operator besides being a pilot, involved in many different types of projects, and YOU ARE CORRECT SIR! Mike is the best! A interview of the concrete contractor Mike used would be hilarious. As would a clip with the local county building inspector. For those with no construction experience, there is not much anything more intense on a job site then an unusual pour, with an equally unusual method of bracing, a "blowout", in aviation terms, is like a micro burst down draft. You're screwed, game over, it's to be avoided at all cost! Viewing this remotely, weeks later, my pulse rate still went up.

well if you dont want to put that yellow Mastinox coating on bolts like the PC12, you can use the chromate free alternate. CA1010 Mastinox Chromate Free Jointing Compound, If you have a vortex happening in a suction side, a stick set in it breaks it up.

I am commenting, during watching the video, so I don't go through it until the end, and then start commenting... I can notice that I am repeating same advice, same that came from the owner of the channel... at least, we are at the same level ... nice job guys! Also, on more notice: always have few extra vibrators for the concrete, and "needles" for them... if one is stuck in the reinforcement, and after few tries can't take it out, just cut it, and leave it inside, and use new one... there is no time to save it - concrete and structure is much more expensive!

As much as I appreciate Mike and his skills, I wonder a bit about the outmoded choice of materials for a house construction. Concrete is not a building material of the future and the whole project is more reminiscent of a high bunker than of light and material-optimized architecture - the kind I would have liked to see from someone in aviation.

Great idea. How will you be dealing with the noise these will make? You will get two types of noise. The suction will make a noise and the turbulence of the bubbles will make the pipes noisy. In the reef tank community they pot ball valves on them and adjust them so they slow down the water and keep the pipe filled. But leaves will clog those regularly so you will need some auto valves that can open and close to clear the lines periodically.
