Thing is. Those tones are the tones that are read by the equipment the radio station/tv station reads to send out the alert to the stations they are broadcasting. They're just broadcasted live because it's pretty much a thing they have to send out instantly so they have no time to cut audio or anything.

If there's a tornado warning if you're still staying inside if the Tornado 🌪️ is Outside maybe scream! This is my Scream Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

The first three screeches are data signals for the type of warning and the counties affected. The long tone after that is the old tones used to activate radios that were not able to do separate warnings per county. Then comes the voice announcement. The three screeches at the end are data signals the tell the radios how long the warning is in effect for, and to let the radio know it can be reset.

the first three screeches carry important information about what the alert is, where it's for, and when it expires known as a Specific Area Message Encoding headers or S.A.M.E headers. the long tone (Attentive tone) is used to get your attention to the alert (like the SAME headers didn't) and activate radio's sirens. the final S.A.M.E headers (End of Message tones or EOM) are used to deactivate the warning if it's on TV and to inform radios one last time of when it expires

nah you will know if it's siren head. he plays a test tone, not a TOR tone the TOR tone is about 1 second per "EEERR" however the test tone is about 4 seconds per "EEERR"

in fact, that is a common mistake and lie told, nobody truly knows why it scares people, the long beep tone is only whats supposed to get your attention

My son uses my account. He is 9 and is autistic. He has sensory issues and has a hard time with very loud noises such as tornado sirens and weather radios. The unexpectedness of these sends him into panic mode. We are trying to desensitize him by having him hear these sounds more often and in a controlled environment which has helped. But now he is a bit obsessed with the videos. He is a rigid thinker due to the autism and I have taught him not to use curse words and he knows I don"t like him watching things that have curse words/bad language so he is just commenting because that is what he was taught. Please have grace for him. Thanks!
