New Tutorial For You Guys, Unlocking locked and or broken SCS mods in the recent version of Euro Truck Simulator 2 / American Truck Simulator 2 (Beta 1.42 | 1.42.0.12s)
This video is entirely for educational purposes, please only use this on your own mod files if you accidentally lock them or from a mod you have permission to achieve on
This Video shows you how to fully extract a locked mod file and re-pack to make it compatible with 1.42 (Fixes incompatible error for mods that are version locked) If you get this error after beta 1.42, you can use this to fix the problem. Just when editing the manifest.sii, Put the version number of the game you are currently on on.

Nice tutorial, everything worked as it should! Though I encountered a problem when extracting a certain mod: After putting in a path after opening one of the CITY files, it didnt want to extract that folder, just kept on doing the original over and over again. Any help possible? Thanks.

I have a mod named euroafrica 2.7, it has four files and two road connection, I managed to unzip 3 scs files but one file doesn't want to go, also the two road connection files don't want to go unzipped, I tried everything but in vain, what to do?

Great video! Very clear and concise! I'm finding this isn't working as simple as it claims. I find more than one name value in the files. Yes i tried adding all of them on separate lines in the file paths box. So DART is out of dated, or modders have gotten better and locking them down. Its funny, cause the one I'm trying to unlock, is one that was modified by someone else, other than the original author, who also got it from someone else, who turned into a paid mod. So use the mod from someone elses work, then lock it? I love irony!

DART is quite outdated, Another tool you can try using is called SXC

@@InsaneCallum Thank you for that! And as quick as you did. Found it. But in its description by the author in SCS forums, its explained how to use, as if we all have some kind of puter science degree. At least thats how it looks to those of us who are self teaching, in how to do many things in puting and modding. Its odd how auto mechanics can explain how to's in a simple manner to understand, when fixing cars to those who wish to learn. But computer folks seem to want to keep it complicated for us. You, on the other hand made, it simple. At least in this video. But I'm finding trouble figuring out SXC.

how long dose the DART process takes, i'm trying to unlock a .scs file now and it's been stuck on 13% for about 45 minutes now

If you have enabled all DART settings and the advanced modes, i've seen it get stuck on files it cannot process. It likely means the file cannot be unlocked via DART

Download SXC and use the readme.html file for instructions of SXC commands This video focuses on D.A.R.T which is a easier method

Your computer will accept any working mod for ETS2. Whats happening

could you please brief about those file that you opened in notepad and what word you add in dart comment so it cameout the vheicle folder i am trying but nothing happen.
