I just made this! I used k&c essentials 100% cotton in cream & river run blue and then for my 6 rows did black with 24/7 cotton since I had that on hand. It is so cute so far. I’m about to sew it together right now ❤️ I wanted your colors but thought I better use what I have on hand first 🤣 Like many of you, I’m sure you do lol, I have my own “store” of yarn on hand so I didn’t need to purchase l any lol

Question. How do you think the bag will hold up where you sewed the straps on to? Do you think when the bag is full that it won't put too much stress right there? I really want to make this as a gift but I want to be sure it will hold up in that spot. Thank you!
This is great! I just wish the transition from single to double stitch was slower. I'm a little confused about that part. So we are skipping a stitch, doing a single stitch and then a double stitch, in the same stitch?
Yes, skip a stitch and then do sc and dc into the same stitch. You can slow down the video. Hover your mouse over the video and click the cog symbol. Scroll down to "Playback speed" and choose the speed that suits you.

Hi ! Beginner here. I also wonder if the single and double are in the same stitch (and is it the whole stitch, front loop only etc) and mostly wondering if you're doing a chain one or not before turning the project ? Because since i've started crocheting i destroy my work every time i try without that sooooooo I'm a little bit confused. Sorry ! Anyway, the bag looks awesome and thank you for the tuto !
The single crochet and double crochet go into the same stitch, working through both loops. You can ch 1 at the beginning of the row if you want, but it's not necessary.
Excellent instruction. I will definitely be making this this summer. Have you ever done the strap for anything else? Like as a belt or tank top strap? Or would it be too stiff?
@@songbirdputikka she said 3:1 ratio… so you could do like a 15”x 5” for smaller or you could go bigger with like a 45”x 15” :) I might try to make a 45x15 for like a pool bag.
@@Lil-Sofia , she has said that the length is 3 times the width of the rectangle. So u can evenly divide the rows(of various colours) based on the length u take. I started with 135 stitches chain as she mentioned.
Hey there, lots and lots of crocheters have made this with success. If your rectangle is too long then I’m guessing the gauge is most likely off. In the future you can start with a gauge swatch before getting into the project to make sure it sizes appropriately. But there is good news here, the content of this bag is a 3 to 1 ratio, so if your height is 1/3 the length of your bag then it can turn out, it just might be a little bit bigger than the original.
