The other jockeys seemed to be bouncing around on their horse's back, but the winning jockey 'got off his back' and let him run! He won standing up. :)
An easier win was when Makybe diva won in Adelaide. Before the race the trainers instructions were, you use the whip on her and I'll use the whip on you!
He must have been sprayed with oil before the race to be able to squeeze through all those horses in front of him.!!!. It is just amazing to see him come from way back there!!!
This was a class 4 handicap, Mugatoo is now racing in Australia where he´s already 2-4 after winning a listed race and a Group 3 over four furlongs shorter.
Wow. Found this on my feed and I was at Doncaster on this day. My daughter had a photo with Jamie Spencer earlier in the day and I asked him of his last two rides which was the best bet. He said this one and take the early price. I got 9/4 and it drifted out to 7/2 I think on course. The rest is history as they say... 💷
It actually won at 4/1 and that is why you ALWAYS, ALWAYS, Always bet with best odds guaranteed, if you want to have any hope of being a long-term winner. Many bookies now offer this concession, even bricks and mortar bookies. They don't offer it on course because they just want to rob you and maintain a massive margin. In this case you'd have got nearly twice as much profit if you'd bet with BOG.
The interesting footnote is that Mugatoo, after two failed runs in the UK following this, was exported to Australia. He won on debut against weak opposition at Canberra and then ran a good second against another Brit expat, French bred, Young Rascal. And then he was well supported in the group one Tancred, but found the company too rich. It was won by the bonny Kiwi mare, Verry Elleegant in brilliant fashion.
Hi folks, placement, timing, and execution of the move you could see that he had a horse plus more. I've a feeling that if it had a cart it would have still won at a canter. Mr. D. Kennedy UK 1st 🇬🇧 Scots 2nd 🏴
Not that easy of a win. Even though turf racing often favors the horse with best finishing kick, and this was obviously a superior horse, it's often tough to rally like that after such slow fractions. Great job of riding.
ever?! Spencer did exactly the same thing on Sariska in the Irish oaks a few years back, so given the quality of opposition there as opposed to here, that was a million times more impressive and every bit as easy
No watch Adrian maguire on Relkeel, from 2 hurdles from home maguire is already looking around to see how many horses are near him. It's the 1994 William Hill hurdle race.
Still managed to wipe out a rider and his mount on the far side rail though; he did it to a Gosden horse recently, Lordofthehorizon, entered in this year's Derby.
Problem with Spencer is he tries this all the time, and it works literally 1 in a hundred, he done it on sariska in Irish oaks looked great, he then got her beat the next 3 times
Very true ;) Also the time of the race was over 7 seconds slower than average and on good ground , truth is he he beat a bad lot and then got detroyed next time out stepping up one class .
@@biffle000 it's Spencer he looks good doing it but gets there to late so often, you know in his ride today in the ebor he will try the same I just hope he gets it going earlier than usual, cause it looks a good horse.
Celtic Swing beating Singspiel at Ascot by 8L in 1994, didn't even break sweat and Singspiel is a top-class Group 1 horse. Arazi winning the Breeders Cup Juvenile was a mockery of a race, made them all look like they were standing still when he cruised past them all.
all Black Caviar wins were like this.....all. all Secretariat world record were like this and track records. 2 or 3 or 4 wins of Frankel races were like this. all of Zarkava races were like this. hope he is like them.
He won’t be, as this is a class 4 handicap. The point of this video is to show a great ride, it isn’t to show the next superstar of racing. Mugatoo is running off a mark of 81, nearly 50 pounds below what it takes to win a G1 race these days. He’s clearly a lot better than his mark of 81, but any half decent horse could make a mockery of this race if given a similar ride. He’s not a superstar for beating these donkeys, or anywhere even close
Depends on how you define easiest, as whether you mean by the winning margin or the effort involved. Frankel won the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot by 11 lengths, yet Rainbow Quest won the Coronation Cup and Sariska won the Irish Oaks with the jockeys barely moving.
No. I would say Smokey Malone in the 19:20 at Nottingham yesterday 14/06/21 was alot more easier. I think he slowed to let Boy George get closer for 2nd to reduce the penalty in the next race.
easiest horse race win was Arazi in the breeders cup juvenile back in the 90,s.. knife through butter at the very highest level.. makes this win look laboured. check it out
MOW won against a single claimer that had run 2 days before (the powers that be did not want a walk over) set a track record and won by 100 lengths. Eclipse was undefeated as well
