I see the tips saying place chains vertically instead traps on the upper level, but it should be specified to not place them lengthwise, place from the front to the back (touching the front glass and back solid block); 4 individual chains rather than one long one. This might be a given to some, but this is to help those who don't (like my son who I helped with this).

Top video my guy , working perfect on Java 1.19.4 , i think what people arent understanding is the water mechanic to push the calf down , i Breed , and push water through , the calf drops everytime , so kudos , this is a lossless farm for me so far

I would suggest adding vertical chains where you add the top trap doors at 1:19 in the video. sometimes the baby cow gets stuck and won't fall because of the trap door.

okay so i made this farm and works great, the issue I'm having is I used the signs at first and a decent amount of baby cows fell down but some didnt. Then I saw that some people said to use chains and I put them exactly how I'm supposed to but only one baby cow fell in. PLEASE HELP!

Use stone button, it has lower uptime than wooden button. Might help someone who's struggling with the drops getting burned in lava. Edit: Just use something that has very low uptime. tripwire/level/etc all those might help. :2

You can simply redesign it so you can use a sword with Looting 3 and Fire Aspect 2, this way none of the meat will burn by the lava, and you even get some extra from the Looting enchantment

Put a red stone lamp with button in front of observer where the red stone connecting to the button is, so in all you need 5 red stone, 1 behind each dropper and observer

depends on how much you bring/breed and how active you are. For me I got like 3 stacks in one hour of actually working with it. I do recommend building this because it worked flawlessly in my hardcore world

The big cows stay up there to breed calves for the calves to fall, grow up, and get cooked. The cows on the top have to stay there to breed calves.

@@TylerMcComb18 See the mistake you are making is thinking the observer is powering the dispensers and causing them to dispense the lava and keep it dispensed. It's not. Remember the observer only activates once with a quick pulse then turns off. The main line of restone going from the button to the dispensers powers the dispensers the first time dispensing the lava. When the button turns off it turns off the redstone in front of the observer which triggers the observer to power the redstone dot he placed at 2:55 in the video (on top of the block that is placed behind the observer). This power pulse from the dot quickly powers the dispensers to activate again and suck the lava back in.

How is this automatic? You still have to feed them manually to make them procreate. The only thing semi-automatic is the cooking of the beef.

Change the button by a lever. When the button is pressed it sends a signal and when it comes back to normal it sends another signal, so the lava gets dispensed and collected, but that is too slow and may burn drops. With a lever, you just press it twice fast and the lava will be collected before the cows die.

nope, it just takes a certain amount of ingame time for baby animals to grow. The only animal that interacts with grass is sheep which they eat to regrow their wool

ya there's no other way to breed animals so its the closest it can be, the only mob that you can breed with a machine is the villager becasue you only need to drop stuff on the ground

If you put a dispenser in place with wheat, it will auto-feed the cows, I think. In which case you could build an auto wheat farm onto it at that level, feeding that dispenser.

@@jufran9137 Don't use all of your wheat to feed them, instead leave one extra in your hand. Then circle the feeding area slowly while holding the wheat, which will get the cows to move and cause the babies to fall. Do this when the water is OFF though.
