Greg the bee's are doing well. I gave them some drawn comb and feed. They could be sold off as nucs right now. Also the extra queen is rocking as well 👍. So thanks. When are you going to start another round of queens? No rush just trying to time my split's. If you get time lol...you can always call me or email, text whatever. If others are considering buying Greg's bee's don't. Just pull the plug and do it. You will be very happy. I am. No regrets. Thanks from the Kentucky mountains

Good information, Greg. I got my start with a package last April. I left the queen in the cage and let them remove her, but have since wondered something. Seeing as how the queen is in the package with them for several days prior to arrival, would direct release work in most cases as they should already be acclimated to her pheromones?

I have direct released with good results and it was no problem. However, I’d be afraid of direct releasing on any colonies that seem a little frantic settling into their new box. If you are splitting a package 2 or 3 ways, I’d def leave the queen caged for 3-5 days.
