I like the product, but at the price gouging price of $ 71.82 plus added shipping of $ 8.99, I think I'll just make something myself. The nerve of these companies. That must be all of $ 2.50 worth of PVC and to charge 9 dollars to ship less than half a pound of plastic is outrageous. Gouging, pure and simple. Because they know you need it, they squeeze you all they can get away with. I know, it takes some money to develop a product and bring it online, but this is off the charts. I would never buy anything from this company and I'll sure let others know just how I feel and why. Wake up America

But then that would reduce the amount of service work they would get in the future, so.... hmmm, yea, this presents quite a quandary for sure, LOL In any case, I like it. New home & furnace (Bryant) - I had the tech install 2 clean out T’s. One up high @ the outlet of the pan & 1 half way between the first T & the drain (15 ft). Once every 6 months (Spring / Winter) I flush the pan & line with a mixture of Vinegar/Hot H2O or Bleach/H2O - then let sit for 2 hours - then flush with Hot Water X2. After each flush is completed - I drop in 2 QwikTreat Condensate Pan Treatment Tablets (1 in the pan & 1 in the line itself) - after 13 yrs, I have never had a issue with this system nor with the unit itself. Plain & Simple - It Works!

I used compressed air to blowout white slime. I also poured in water before and after. I was surprised blowing it out with air caused a lot of white slime to come out. I didn't use shop vac to suck it out at the same time like the A/C techs did because I was working by myself. You do need an open access point near the evaporator.

Im kind of thinking that if you need to clear your line that often its not installed properly. Im in Florida and these lines are a constant source of problems here. The house I bought had the line going out under the garage slab and it was a constant source of problems. every month or so it needed service. I finally got fed up and researched it and re-piped it using a rectoseal p-trap and re-routing the drain out a wall with lots of pitch 1/4 per foot or more. Normal rules of pitching drain lines does not apply here. You want that water to drain as fast as possible. also make sure you debur and chamfer the inside of the pipe. I havent had any issues since.

I agree that the pricing is way too high. Just put a T in the line and then two ball valves (one on each side of the T … one towards the Drain line to outside, one towards the Air Exchanger). Then use a cheap Shop Vac adapter / coupler and control the air direction by using the ball valves.

Thanks for the info. Been having draingae issue for weeks now where water is going out secondary instead of primary. 2 plumbers cleared the line and 3 HVAC companies, we are still not able to find the root cause. My HVAC guy asked me to take out the Filter for 1-2 days and said "Perhaps water is being sucked off evaporator because the blower is pulling too hard. " Does that make sense to try out? could that cause more damage even for 1-2 days? Thanks for the feedback.

@galg3967
@galg3967 10 месяцев назад
@@Tvo281 I meant water is going out Secondary drain instead of Primary (Primary does drain a little bit). Very frustrating that no one can tell me root cause. After 4 HVAC companies (all American standards dealers), no clear cause. I will replace the drain pan and see if Trane will help if that does not fix the issue. Could be a leaky or splashy coil, blower over blow, etc. Plumber said no issue with clogging. Will update after the drain pan is replaced.

@@whosgotmyusernameHi, not yet. Now that the weather is not as hot, in the low 80s during the day, and 60s in the morning, there has not been any water in the PAN. AC still work, but not as hard and often. So either there is Condensation Buildup for some reason that overrun the drain pan, or something with the drain pan (Even if we pour water into the drain pan area and it just drain it fine). 2 Plumbers and 5 HVACs don't know what the issue is - Each contradict the other. I may just wait for next Spring to continue tshoot this.

I have an ecobee thermostat and one day it went blank so I called Ecobee support and they had no idea why or how to tell me to fix the issue. I guess they hire a bunch of idiots over there. I called a AC tech and he came out and vaccumed the line and it was incredible how much solid scum and gunk he got out of that PVC line. I was wondering where all that could have come from. Cost me a bunch of money for a tech because Ecobee didn't know what to do.

I just moved into a new house we built and we are having the same issue.. 3 different times within 2 months drain lines getting clogged with this white slime (Bacterial Zoogloea). I couldn't get any real answers and after googling discovered this is an issue with the new ACs using all aluminum coils. I *NEVER* had this issue with my old house.. basically, the old AC units are copper so this kills the bacteria that causes this.
