Thanks Joel for the awesome videos and also letting me tag along at the 303 open:) I learned a great deal from watching you personally and the knowledge I also learned is something that is unforgettable and I am truly grateful for the experience. Take care and I truly thank you;)
I agree Joel! 30 years ago when I pondered this question I decided that heal is less likely to wear my knee out. In fact this has proven good for me so far🤞🏼 I averaged four to six rounds a week at Idlewild and Mt. Airy or Banklick for 8 years in the 90's and have played regularly since. I played 60+ rounds in '23 and can still throw >420 @65 without knee pain 🎉🤞🏼 Have a successful and healthy New Years 🖖🏼
You seem like a guy that’s aways got a smile on his face. Mattie O. Of course nothing but fun. Ricky W. Always seems happy. Possibly Gannon B. He’s always having a good time and a classic Big Jerm. Along with all your jersey/shirts being loud. Thanks for the opportunity. Happy new yr.
I'm adding a slight rule change that makes way more sense than what I originally said: I will include some honorable mentions and the tie breaker will be who guessed more of the names from that list! Good luck everyone!
Isaac Robinson, Cole redalen, Matty O, and Chris Dickerson! And of course you. I appreciate this tip because it’s something I’ve thought about- whether or not planting on the toe is bad, which I think for the sake of longevity it is, you confirmed that!
Isaac, Matty O, Silas, Cole and you. Feeling like that’s a strong guess. Thanks for the advice on the what to turn on, that simple knee demonstration went a long way. Congrats on hitting 550’ too!
This is a very good visual representation of this topic, which I appreciate. Thanks for all your videos, I enjoy your approach to discussing different aspects of the game. My guess: Cole Redalen, Matty O, Paul Ulibarri, Chris Clemons
Great video. Forceful rotation inside the knee is how ACLs are torn. I have seen videos of people advocating twisting on your toes during the brace and having torn the ACL in both knees (not disc golf related) that motion just makes my skin crawl. Despite surgeries, my knees will never quite be the same (more injury prone, lost range of motion and a part of the leg which kind of feels like its asleep) with many other associated risks in the future. Getting back from the surgeries took about a years per knee, lots of pain, effort and many many hours of rehab.
Simon Lizotte, Matty O, James Conrad, Cole Redalen Great tip, something I worked on over the summer was landing with my front foot slightly closed, and I found it naturally felt best to land on the side of my foot, and push my front hip back, and my foot will naturally transfer weight to the heel. Also keeping my head still. If I look up too early I tend to rotate too early and spin out and lose power. Working on that.
1. Matty O 2. Cole R. 3. KJ USA 4. Simon L. 5. Joel F. That was an interesting point about subconsciously holding back power because of form. I'll get out and experiment with it. Enjoy the 2024 season.
I just tore a ligament from this last week. Now i am out of commission. I went out to try and throw lightly with a hurt knee and I can say right now I am super afraid to plant now
Congratulations! I decided to choose to winners because there were two equally good guesses and yours was one of them! Reply to this comment or send me a message on Instagram within the next 7 days to claim your prize! Thank you!
Eric Oakley, James Proctor, Simon Lizotte, Casey White, and of course yourself. This might just be my dream card of people with fun loving personalities...
Joel, your content and personality on the Tubes is too good, we need more content! You along with other players on tour get such a bad rap for playing with passion. I personally appreciate players like you and Locastro. So I’m gonna base your top 5 card on that. 1. Nikko 2. (Old)Bradley Williams 3. (Old) Scott Stokely 4. Barsby 5. (Recent) Mcbeth
Great tip I think riding over on my toe for a year and a half and just learning so bad form is what led to my torn meniscus 😢. Just starting to play again with a knee brace no sugary so far but I did have an mri.. Dream Card: Simon Lizotte, Cole Redalan, Issac Robinson, Paul Mcbeth and you. AM: Kristin Tatar, Nikolas Antilla , Chris Dickerson. Good Luck 2024 God Bless!

If you're rotating correctly from you lower body it just happens, sometimes not on deep fresh cut grass, but if you're putting your power into turning your body correctly and putting that turn into the disc you should have extra momentum in your body still turning you on your plant foot. Dave Feldberg has a video on biomechanics and different video from 2017 on Infinite Disc's channel which both cover it a bit if you want some more in depth coverage.
@@joelfreemanhole-hearted6305, thanks for the video, Joel. In watching some slow motion of pros, some start the foot rotation on the heel then finish up on their toe. Some roll the plant foot over bending at the ankle. I'm going to video myself because I do not know what my foot action is.
