I like the way you describe how to taste local Singapore dishes especially interacting with the hawkers...keep it going.. Btw, I'm really curious that you can eat all those foods ALONE! You must have a big appetite to do TABERU CHANNEL..Hahaha...Lol
Good content, it's great exposure for Singapore hawkers from a Japanese eyes. Hope those who come here for holiday will try these foods and hawker centers. Don't stay only in Marina Bay area haha.
You can eat a lot and really loves to eat! Did not expect your dessert at the end to be a curry puff, I feel very full already just by looking at it! Haha :D
The next time that you have carrot cake, try the black version which is cooked with sweet black sauce. Thanks for another great Singaporean food feature!
Btw Ghib, carrot cake is actually made from white radish aka daikon! (in mandarin it is literally translated as white carrot\白萝卜\baí luó bō……hence carrot cake lol) Daikon is grated and mixed with a flour slurry then steamed. The resulting cake is cubed and fried with egg = a dish of carrot cake :)
Ohiyo gozai mashita! Ojisan! The food you introduce looks great! I'm a Singapore local but i seldom appreciate the local flavours as much as u ! Thanks for telling us about the Katong laksa 328. I was looking for it with my hubby. (My hubby is a foreigner too) we like to go around looking for delicious food too! Arigato !
really like your content ! Also love the japan stuff too! its very interesting to see a Japanese exploring and traveling japan as you understand things that perhaps we dont due to Language barriers! ( LOL at 2:56 you can see the juice of the drumstick flew right out :D
it would be the BEST place for a little drinking, i wanna stay there for a couple of hours and try some dishes like u with TIGER beer, yes! im sure it cant go wrong, nice tip, thx!
How can you eat so much food at one sitting? Chicken wings, carrot cake, popiah, bak kut teh and satay ... wow! Btw, it's not lettuce, but shredded cucumber in the popiah.
Ghib, why not make a vlog about Singapore's public transport? Maybe spend a day taking the bus and mrt, during peak hours perhaps to experience true sg haha! Look forward to it!
Do you know you can cycle all the way to changi village (where there is another hawker centre with tons of good food) or cycle to gardens by the bay? They are both opposite directions from East Coast Park. =DD
This place is an absolute gem! Great food, hawker price but it gets crowded especially during weekends and public holiday. Be sure to arrive at least 2hrs earlier if anyone / any groups of 5 😁 decides to go East Coast Lagoon for dinner during weekends so that you can choose the best table with sea view.
Singaporean Chinese not capable of translating Chinese words into English very well. There's a drink they call "grass" jelly even though there's not a blade of grass in the drink.
Ghib-san you should order the braise pork leg from the bah kut teh stall. It is really good, better than other bah kut teh stall. Also, do add in a ketupat(rice cake) when you order satay.
They're two types of carrot cake. Black and white. I prefer the black. As for bak kut teh they're two types too black and white. Hokkien and teochew. Once I look at your video I am carving for food.😋
Hey Ghib san, just a suggestion since you love sugarcane juice. Not sure if anyone shared with you before but you can ask for lemon or plum to be added into the juice (if the shop has them). Personally I prefer to add lemon (more refreshing) but in Malaysia I notice a lot of people like to add plum. I'm not a plum fan so haha lemon for me with sugarcane juice is AWESOME, adds the nice tangy flavour on top of the sweetness! Hope to get a chance to meet you someday!!!
I love watching your videos. I'm Singaporean. I love the way you get excited about everything you encounter. I enjoy listening to your comments. You know how to appreciate the minor details that I don't normally take notice of. Your English is amazing. I can't believe that you are so passionate about Singapore. Singapore is so small. Sometimes I think that it is not impressive to someone from a big country. So it's incredible to see that you take delight in exploring every corner of our country with so much enthusiasm. Maybe one day you can feature my project. I collect good condition items in the trash in singapore to ship to poor people in the Philippines. They can use our items, exchange them for food or sell them to pay for medical or funeral cost. We help hundreds of poor people with the good condition items that people in singapore throw away.
You missed out on that stall's more famous dish, the pork trotters. Fatty & melts in your mouth. I will go for it instead the bak tuk teh. BTW the drink stall owner is5 my uncle. The opposite duck rice stall is popular too, the duck porriage is one of my favourite.
5:23 They dun use carrot. At least not the normal orange type. They use white radish(we called it white carrot sometimes) thats why the cake is white. So there is no carrot in carrot cake haha
Carrot cake have another cooking style with dark sweet sauce and we usually label it as *black *carrot cake if want to order . You can also mix two style together if you want to eat both at once. Pork satay usually only chinese stall will sell. Another great hawker very near mrt line is near mattar station call circuit road hawker. Within 5 to 10 mins walk. In the afternoon it has soy duck rice and hakka yong tau foo(yup you need to try this as diff style from other yong tau foo* If you love soup food there is pig organ soup and fish soup. If you eating from the fish soup stall Will recommend ask for fried fish egg as add on. Change rice to this noodle call * ee *mee. Basically is brownish noodle which look fried already. Evening onwards you can find the bbq wing and all kind of satay style there too.
I like to go to this hawker centre at night or when i camp overnight at the beach. To camp at East Coast Park, you have to apply for the permit at AXS machine.
Thanks for the information I didn't know u need a permit or a rent a place to camp there. Lol 😂 reminds of renting a bbq pit there. That's Singapore. 🙂
@@suyinweesy You don't really pay anything to camp at Singapore park. Just let the authority knows you want to camp there through AXS machine. The park wardens would patrol the park at night, to make sure everyone is safe and there is no juvenile in a tent with an older person in a tent.
I always laugh at Michael Jackson drink. Because its White on the outside, but still Black on the inside. Just like Michael Jackson, a black man that turned white.
I am a local and I want to go there to eat the food you were eating but now is circuit breaker time, can only packet food home to eat. The laksa is also not bad and satay bee hoon. Don't know still have
