Darren79 You never remember them because they were'nt on long. Then you see the old episodes and think how did I not remember seeing them before especially since it really wasn't that long ago.
They had to, realistically. He caught it too early in the medical developments towards treating the virus. If he'd got it today, and found out around the same time he did, he'd 99.99% been OK. But it was too early then. Sure there are people who got it around the time Mark did, earlier even, and are still alive today. But they're very much a minority. Shame the character was lost. He was a great one. But it would've damaged the story had they kept him.
