Hopefully the last time I upload this feud! A massive thank you to Eastenders clips4u, ClassicTv, Eastenders Storylines, Tara Oakwell, BillFan22 and any other channel who's clips I've included in this video.
Phil agreeing to pay for the taxi right at the beginning when he'd originally come over to clean Ricky's clock was actually really funny, especially Frank's reaction
I've actually seen that happen in real life. Used to go to a rough bikers pub in my youth. They had bands on most Saturday nights. Now as you can imagine these were greasy blokes in leather and or denim, rough as you like. One evening this couple walk in, him in a suit, her in a long pale blue gown looking like they were going to the opera or something. Band stops, pub goes silent, everyone looks at them in a sort of "what the hell is this?" kind of way. They look around, and walk back out. Band starts up again, everyone carries on drinking and playing darts etc. funny as all hell.
"What have you got me down as? Some kind of doughnut?" Brilliant! Classic Frank Butcher line. Mike Reid was a fantastic comedian and actor. Simply irreplaceable.
@Nasti Chestikov - That's brilliant! I remember Sid Owen who played his son Ricky said something similar in an interview years ago. He said that Mike used to improvise parts of his dialogue because as a comedian, he was very good with wordplay. I think there was even "What have you got me down as? Some sort of ice cream?" in one episode way way way back in the late-90s/early-2000s. Nobody else could have pulled any of it off like he did.
Because Frank ran over Tiffany accidentally which obviously lead to her having a funeral and Grant never got over the fact Frank ran her over (even tho grant was indirectly responsible as he made Tiffany’s life a misery) Tiffany and but all the blame on Frank
@@H.K.5 I doubt it would've been THAT easy... in the 90's. Frank had CRAZY strength, but during the small bust-up between Grant and Frank it did look like Grant was about to hit him after smacking his hands away. Frank even in his super old age could take a punch and damn sure give one.
@@Darskul Frank wasn't that hard. He was brave and didn't back down from anyone but he wouldn't have lasted 5 seconds in a fight with Phil, let alone Grant. Not to mention the 90's was Phil at his very best, physically. No soap character can beat that version of Phil apart from Grant.
I'm not an East-end man. But I am an Anthropology student. I watched EastEnders with my grandparents during the 1990s. I'm only now beginning to appreciate the level of acting.
This is when Eastenders was worth watching. The past 15 years is bloody muck.. 👊👊 I started watching this 3 days ago, I find myself coming back to this to see it through.. 😎🤝🙂
Frank is Frank, what a character. He played the part with gusto and made the show what it was. So many fond memories, RIP Frank...Forgot to add, that smile and those teeth, magical.
I remember I was in marbella when I heard mike reid died sad it was. I was having the best time of my life I'd woken up with 2 chick's and remember thinking everytime I have a threesome someone famous dies it was my third threesome and the former occasions Bernard manning died and before that the actress from easies
@@cheistiandunn7988 I know what you mean son, I do. I was in Majorca in my privet yacht when I heard. Massive thing that is. It’s nice and all but, It ain’t half expensive to maintain. Anyway, this French tart I picked up in Paris woke me up with a blowy, then told me straight after. She’s a model, pretty little thing so I let her get away with it. She should’ve just come right out with it. She also woke up the other 4 birds in the bed with me that I picked up the night before.
It's weird watching a young Phil Mitchell showing respect to someone he doesn't like. Phil now would never put up with anyone speaking to him like how Frank used to.
God how much things of changed. Ricky is no longer on the show. Sam fell on hard times, Pat is Dead, and so is Frank and Phil is going to find himself in more hot water than he ever could imagine.
In 1985, people were saying the east end didn't have a patch on the EE of the 60s & 70s. Twenty years from now people will be saying 2039 EE doesn't have a patch on the EE of 2019. And on it goes...
@Tru Brit. You could argue that the Pakistan of the 1940s was long gone after the Brits invaded and colonised it. Pretty much like we did most of the planet. In fact, the concept of any British person complaining about immigrants is ridiculous given our long and rich history of colonising all four corners of the globe.
Mike Reid died 2007 in Spain I should know I was in the same town at the time having it away with loads of local totty. Very good times they were, obviously not a good year for Mike Reid but he was over 70.
Yeah same Ive watched it in bits before sleep mostly, this is my third night watching and not far from finished.. really good watch and I don’t even watch soaps
Lol just imagine every time you walk down the street franks hiding round the corner 😂😂😂😂 he’s so funny when he’s being tough but captivating at same time
Notice how the jukebox INSTANTLY stops playing the very second things heat up in the Queen Vic 😂😂 "RIGHT! THAT'S IT! GERROWDA MY COURT ROOM! GO ON! GERROWDOV IT!"
Barbara Windsor is very much like my Mum was. What she said goes. RIP Mum, We always tried to do our best for you, we let you down a few times but you still loved us regardless. I realise that now but didn't at the time. I guess the lesson did get through in the end, albeit too late. I'm sorry and thanks for all you did for us. You were the best mum anyone could have asked for.
Was a great show back then. Now, like so much else in today's society, trash. Really was quite an accurate portrayal of life back then, obviously turned up for purpose drama, but fine writing and acting, done by people that wholly understood the community they were representing.
Gary Garratt your spot on Gary I’m 35 English still live in London it’s unreal the change I was 8 when I watched easterners great show back in the day 👍👍👍
Gary Garratt yes mate same I was born and raised in north west London it’s lost it’s English feel and I feel to make a move soon yes what’s been done to London is sad ☹️ it’s been sold out the thing that gets me we were never asked for London to become what it is today 👍👍👍😊
This is one of my favourite feuds. Frank/Mike Reid was a legend, fantastic character/actor and very funny. Thats what I loved about Frank, always added humour to his arguments against the Mitchell Brothers.
It's weird watching this in a way I only ever saw the Mitchel brothers as the baddies when I was a kid , but I can relate to them more and they keep their cool with Frank remarkably well lol ..
You could tell there was pure hatred on both sides between Frank and Grant in the end. Mostly thanks to the stirring by Phil. Also the smug look on Frank's face when Peggy announced their engagement was a picture 😂😂
all throughout the early 2000s they had the one garage tune that was played for every occasion - every party, every club, on the radio. The speed garage version of Convert - Nightbird
Brilliant upload. I remember watching EastEnders when it was all about the working class trying to get by. I haven't seen EastEnders for ages nowadays.
@@AA-tq7dm I used to agree with you but now as ive got older think pre car lot fire Frank might very done well vs either Mitchell...he could've ended it with 1 punch ..he would've had a go..and I think he would've done decent better than dirty den,Dennis Rickman ankle Steve Owen did with a mitchell
I had a mate who looked and sounded just Frank Butcher and we used to call him 'Mike Reed's love child'. When he found out his reaction was just like Frank when he's in one of rages.
@@RandomUploads-ch3bh Hey I know how much work goes behind one such video :-) keep em coming ! The best one will be heroics of the real walford legends, Billy Mitchell and specially Barry Evans, his every idiotic move in one grand video :-))
It was good to watch & reminisce on these old episodes of Eastenders! Today’s Eastenders isn’t a patch on any one of these clips! No diversity or woke blm ideals = a damn good show! 😃
