Oh yeah can't forget to give a massive thanks to my friend Subarashii for helping me put together the information in this video :) check him out here: twitter.com/SubarashiiLord Also lets get to 1000 likes for a part 2 to this video :D
I like their mindset in HGSS so much. they were like "not only youre getting an improvement in graphics, two regions to explore, a nice difficulty level compared to other games in the series and lots of cool stuff - you also get lots of legendaries to catch, extra places to explore and even things like the 8-bit sound effect you can get after you defeat the game". these games are just full of content and you can see they poured they heart and soul into them (no pun intended). I wish they will return to give us this amount of content in new games like they did in gen 4 and 5, it was really amazing
@@modelomegatyler considering they are working with higher specs now I think the main thing they need to make the modern games just as good as the older gems is TIME, but they seem to spend the same amount on all main games I think that's why the jump to 3D screwed things Although Colosseum and XD are pretty dang good and they are in 3D so I have no idea...
@@unwithering5313 yeah, because they COULD take time on those. now a days everything is expensive because one person wanted to make more money, as well as every expecting a new game in a set amount of time... to paraphrase something i read "your company's a failure if you don't shit out a game every 6 months".
Mr. Hooty Meh, johto is empty... I really didn't like HGSS since you had to go a bunch of events to get certain pokemon. Main Games of Gen 4 - Gen 5 was the best pokemon has ever been. Gen 4 had great evolutions to mons that were pretty "meh" and the physical special split. While gen 5 had amazing story, likeable characters, easily the greatest villain of all time, and cool features like you can see sunrise in real time. I'm hyped for remakes sinnoh like anyone else, but unova is my home.
Yes, but since NDS emulators and Gameshark cheat event codes came out, people managed to access the game events even though it already ended. So, it's more like easter eggs now.
@@samaelthelightbringer Don't need a gameshark to get the Hoenn starters, battle Red, obtain Team Rocket clothing, talk to Crasher Wake, access Sinnoh sounds, catch Groudon, Kyogre & Rayquaza. The only thing you need any type of cheats for in this video is the Celebi. So even if you want to change the definition of an easter egg to no longer legally obtainable events the video was still only showing 1...
-Maylene in the restaurant in Celadon City -Red’s Pika having the same moveset as Ash’s in the anime at the time -GB Sounds Rowlit: yo look at this Team Rocket outfit event that’s required for story progression.
It makes me sad to think there will never be another sprite-based game.... I just miss how lively and intricate everything felt as a 2d game, the worlds were so lively and the features we got were amazing.
@@prettypunkhim no they are chibi, but I made this comment a year ago without knowing if they were going to remake the games. I got to play Brilliant Diamond and it isn’t bad; it’s pretty much the same game but with a revamped underground.
An easter egg is when there is a hidden reference to a different game or a hidden event/joke that does not affect the gameplay in anyway. You're talking about stuff that affects the pokedex (a MAIN component of the entire franchise) And Parts of the endgame story. The endgame story and events that you have to insert an external thing to activate do not count as easter eggs. An event in the main story for the game doesn't count as an easter egg. The only Easter egg in this video is the Crasher Wake Easter Egg.
the crazy part about Celebi's event is that it causes a predestination style paradox, where the only way that Team Rocket and Giovanni were unsuccessful in their scheme in Goldenrod was bc you go back in time to the Tohjo Falls cave and stop Giovanni. But the event IS OPTIONAL, and every game cart is a seperate universe, so some questions i have are 1) how would the events be explained if you do not do the event? and 2) how can celebi prevent a major paradox such as this in the time space continuum when it uses its time travel?
Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, where the first ever Pokemon games I got to play and I am still in love with these games to this day. I spent years playing these every day after school deep into the night ... cherished Childhood memories.
When I saw the typholosion with earthquake I just had a moment of nostalgia. My favourite move of all time and also how I used to earthquake everyone in-game left and right instead of bothering about special and physical stats.
In gen 2 there was no special physical splitt up untill gen 3. certain types where allways special and others where allways physical. For exemple Earthquake as a ground move is physical.
I was one of those who covered the Celebi Giovanni event legitimately, and I used an event Celebi to solo vs Giovanni without using items in battle, shame my video wasn't of the most pristine quality...
I remember having a Action Replay that had a Rocket Outfit code, but it turned me in a cardboard box or something... can't remember, but it wasn't the outfit. I had to fiddle around with the code to get it right. Took me a few tries.
Trying to complete the Pokédex in HGSS and platinum for almost a year. Sword and Shield have passed me by and I’m muuch more entertained with these rather than new games
getting a 2nd starter in post game is neat but kinda useless (at least when you only care about the story and not the pokedex). I mean you already have your team. why should you change it?
@@vaporholtz thats nothing I would look forward to. every 2nd starter I chose just landed in the PC and was never been used 🤣 and "looking forward to"? I never knew I gonna get a 2nd starter 😂
I still play HGSS and it's the best. I love everything they've done with it. I hope they remake HG/SS or port to the switch, as it's the best pokemon game honestly.
I honestly think that they would sell a shitton of games if only they made one where you get to play as the villains, or have like 2 endings depending or not if you decide to join the evil team or not
Ha! I have played these games over and over again, looked under every sea, sailed around every stones. I don't think you'll teach me anything about them (or Sapphire and Emerald for that matter).
I truly love the amount of callbacks, people to battle, and Pokémon to catch in this game definitely took their time making this game memorable and a true adventure!
To get the jade orb you need the Kyogre/Groundon that you catch in HGSS, it can't be any other version of them. I tried with my Kyogre from my emerald and oak still said I needed the one from the other version. Witch sucks because i thought i had a work around.
I just started replaying the game for nostalgia and I was wondering if there were any Easter eggs that I may have missed when I was a kid. I remember my brother and I begging my mom to take me to GameStop to get the celebi and doing that Easter egg. Thank you for the reminder ❤
@@muji8872 ... then by that logic is the current black lives matter movement not evil? as while we are doing it to help others it's also disregarding everyone's safty durring the pandemic and we have no idea who is really "good" or not.
Diamond was a big part of my life but when i swithced to ss&hg pokemon genuinely changed for me and became a lot more fun and enjoyable and time-consuming lol
Dont forget that you could wear 2 different versions of the team rocket uniform in the lets go games. Otherwise cool video, i knew about most of this stuff but there were a few things I learned about such as the music thing and finding different region pokemon on certain routes.
If you talk to your pokemon while you're in mt silver even your pokemon is super friendly it will be agitated like it's feeling some strong force somewhere.
When you climb Mt.Silver and then find that certain character that you played with. My reaction was somewhat like this: "I made you stronger. AND THAT'S HOW YOU REPAY ME. A Pokémon battle. Seriously."
Fun fact: It's theorized that Giovanni may have committed suicide after you bested him in battle since you hear a large splash after he leaves the cave, as his plans have been "bested" once again by a ten year old.
My sister and I love Pokémon, and she got us the Celebii event with two codes there, with the Spiky Earred Pichu and Giovanni with the villain’s father, I got Kanto and a Hoenn starter, fought Red, got Groudon too, so I kinda expected those to be here, thanks for showing them here man. The videos back then surprised me 12yo
This is the game best in the series with the most content. My only issue with the games are when going to Kanto they should have given you a starter to be able to level up during the Kanto part. Theres so many events & content. My only issue is the leveling system. After the Eliter 4 your level 50s arent even at 60 aftering completing Kanto. Which leaves yoj with about 15 hrs of grinding to beat red an rechangle the elite 4. You can get mewtwo & lugia/ho-oh level 70 to make the gap easier. But its just one thing I noticed while replaying during this pandemic.
The event doesnt work with just any celebi i got a celebi from an event with a pichu that has like special ears take the pichu to the forest right there and a celebi battle commences catch it all well and good but takeing celebi there i never got sent through time i didnt even giovanni had a kid much less his kid being flame on
I know one of the Easter eggs was in one of the cities in Kanto, if you headbutt a specific tree, starly appear, and another tree had tailow. I think the same city also had the Deoxys Meteors
Did you know? Kanto is in HeartGold and SoulSilver, what a fun EasterEgg. Another mind blowing Easter Egg is that Luke is actually Darth Vader's son in Star Wars!
I wish you would've included the Sinjo Ruins event as it's way more forgettable since you needed an Arceus in order to do the event. I would say the rocket outfit doesn't belong in this video as it's not really an easter egg.
Damn dude. If you thought these were Easter Eggs, you must have been in the dark for a long time lmao. Jokes aside, I don't think these are really Easter Eggs? More just... miscellaneous fun facts. Title seems a bit misleading, as does you mentioning that they're Easter Eggs constantly?
Hey dude your videos are the best! Could I ask that you add a contents to your video? RU-vid now has a feature where you can view contents in the timeline thing and jump between topics. This breaks the video up and I can jump between each topic, helps me go through your awesome videos again and listen to the parts I like over again
These are my 2 favorite games and I’ve completed both of them entirely except I’m stuck on just catching Rayquaza on both of them 😅🤣 I try to get low HP and make him asleep but he literally never has gotten close to catching in either game, like as soon as the ball closes it’ll maybe roll 1 time but then always open, 200+ ultra balls
i want a re-remake of gold and silver... it's an awesome edition but i want more events. 1. you managed to climb the mount silver, battled trainer red, the best trainer in the universe and you get in return... nothing. where is my fucking medal? where is my title? where are people praying to me like a goddamn god! 2. what's this half assed shit of presenting rare pokemon to me? "hey bro, wanna have a rare pokemon that exists only once in the whole existance" > "yeah sure" > "cool, here, have it" wut? 3. so you got some damn orb, go to the same cave and there are pokemons that are there for no real reason, sitting there and waiting to be captured. they all had a giant back story and abilities that can easily destroy the whole planet, and you just go in the cave and throw balls on them? no back story, no event, nothing? well thank you for nothing generally the concept of legendary pokemon is rubbish. they are legendary only in terms of catch rates. they are rare and one timers but if you watched the anime you know: they are goddamn powerful! and they loose all their powers when you catch them. you know what'd be a nice feature? to actually use their powers. why not use groudons powers to drie the ocean and walk through it to reach earlier inaccessible regions to discover new treasures, or maybe even to help people, do certain quests, requests or form the region for yourself like you're the king of johto? or vise versa, flood the earth and swim across unreachable heights. or what's with ho-oh, the mighty phoenix, how about having it have a secret skill with which's power you can one time revive your whole team at max HP instead of using an item? i have literally no idea what makes the legendary birds so special besides their powers but then at least give them unique skills they and only they have. like 200 atk 100 precision and crit guarantee. i know, OP, but it's a legendary and not RNG generated pokemon #149! or what's with giratina? diving into a parallel mirror world, making new areas accessible, desiging the shadow realm all for yourself, creating a new base, inside the shadow realm, like the underground system just in fucked up and awesome! or what about time travelling? do you know how desperate fans want the feature to travel into different countries? that's your chance. use dialgas special skil and travel to kanto, hoehn, sinnoh, etc... that'd be fucking awesome. we can even do a bit of zelda here and enter little riddles where you need to switch back and force in time, maybe to prevent disasters or so... and of course we have palkia but room manipulation sounds a bit blurry, no idea what that actually means :D teleporation? that we already have i guess.... what else... lugia... no idea what makes this one powerful... celebi would be dialga 2.0 jirachi... uuuuh that one would be really nice... imagine once in a certain period it's third eye opens and it grants you a wish. i have literally no idea what kind of wishes i would have... maybe something OP like one pokemon of your choice from the pokedex, appearing in front of you to battle? that'd be awesome because that way you could actually fill the pokedex without cheating. because honestly. "go catch them all, but to do that you need to communicate with a prallel universe, which is slightly like hours, but has other pokemon, just do some quantum hacking shit and transfer them over here and you're good" yeah, sounds just like in the anime. or... duno... infinite money, but i guess people don't ned money that desperate... maybe items or so... reduce grinding a bit. and of course we have arceus... this thing is freaking god! i want something completely OP, i want him to have a special skill that every pokemon you send against it stun for the first round because they acknowledge it as the true creator of all existance, and i want the most OP attack there is. how a bout Big Bang? or maybe an out-of-battle skill "create life" or putting those plates to use. i mean there is a big back story to that, it's hard to implement but don't bring a pokemon if it has the same damn attacks and stats like all the others just with a slight boost, what's that shit? deoxys is basically no legendary, it's just an alien... the regis are ... just stones, no biggie from what i heard, same to rotom, the three sea thingies... XD they have some miraculous power granting a certain virtue but that's kinda it. heatran is... dunno, powerful as it's a vulcano but no biggie... shaymin... meh... victini... i mean it kinda hyper powers other pokemons but that's only for 2x2 battles, so yeah, why not but hardly applicable since there are not many opportunities to use it. and we have darkrai... that one is already quite powerful with his nightmare combo of putting you asleep and sucking out your HP with it's skill, while putting nightmare and dream eater, making it a perfect combo... if i would wish for something more it should be a bit more efficient. maybe say the sleep hits always and lasts a minimum of 2 rounds... or always 2 rounds, not more, not less, to stil be a bit balanced. and crescelia... is basically only to fight darkrai making it quite useless for everything else XD
@@FREEZA13 well then hear again :P let's go pikachu is technically a re-remake of pokemon yellow. 1st time was firered and leaf green ^^ well technically there never was a remake of yellow but still i would count it as a re-remake of pokemon 1st generation
