With all due respect, although Easter certainly includes the notion of self giving sacrifice and the divine life today among God’s people, it seems to me that an Easter message bereft of even the mention of a victory over death and the grave won for US - is rather missing the greater point!!??? Is it not??
I am sorry but you are missing the point, and by a mile. You do not know the audience Bishop Daniel is addressing. What he is describing is a resurrection that a people who barely survived a largely successful effort to exterminate them would recognize. Are you here goading traditional Eastern Churches in the all too familiar Protestant manner of calling us non-Christian? If so, I wont mince words, because I am the worst Christian I know -- Kindly .... off.
@@Jackkalpakian No, I am not insinuating in the least that you are non-Christian. Far from it. I have been trying to study up on the Eastern Orthodox doctrines, and I was certainly understanding that although you don't stress things like the atonement like the protestant church, we certainly understand in common the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection as a defeat of Satan and victory over sin and death. I would hope you would agree! Peace.
